Chapter 24

EMMETT POV

After Lisa drops the biggest bomb of the century on me, I emotionally explode on the inside. It's all too much. The happiness, the protectiveness, the mate pull, being royalty, destroying a crazy rogue leader, and my human mate was half wolf this whole time. I walk back and forth for over an hour. 

Lisa watches me with worried eyes. But I can't reassure her because I, myself, am freaking out. I thought the trial in my life would be having a human mate.

Lisa finally gets up and hugs me from behind. Her gesture calms my raging emotions instantly, and I sigh. 

"Emmett, it's okay. A lot has happened today, and it's only 6 pm. Why don't I go home and hit the gym? And you go eat and hit your gym. We both need to come to terms with a bunch of new things. Some we were ready for, and some we weren't," Lisa says gently, and I nod my head.
