The elders file out of the room and I turn my attention back to Ahsoka, I can tell something is wrong. As soon as the elders are out of sight, Ahsoka clutches at the table and wraps an arm around her belly. That is the third one I noticed since being in this room.
“Ahsoka? This is not Braxton hicks. Let’s get you to the doctor.” Suddenly we hear a gush of flowing water. We both look down at the floor and then back at each other.
“Nope, definitely not Braxton hicks,” she laughs.
“Stop standing there like a deer in headlights. Get the car Nico,” says mom.
“Right, shit, car.” I rush out the door and hear Ashoka giggle behind me. I get her jeep and pull it out front. Dad helps her in.

Ahsoka I reach the place I call home and hesitantly walk up the porch steps. I quietly open the front door, trying to sneak into the safety of my bedroom. AhsokaI wake up earlier than I normally do. Dad normally doesn’t hit my face, but he was so drunk last night he struck me. I tuned out my surroundings that I don’t even remember him hitting me. Thankfully it’s not a huge bruise on my cheek but I’m having a hell of a time covering it up with make up. I’ll have to keep my hood up to cover my face.
