*SARAH*
I took a big breath and knocked on the brown door in front of me. I hoped everything would go well. No one answered after the second knock, so I decided to go in. Ella said he was in his study.I opened the door and walked into the big room. It looked really smart, with lots of dark wood bookshelves full of fancy books and journals.
In the middle of the room, there was a big oak desk with a comfy leather chair. Sunlight came in through thick curtains, making the Persian rug on the wooden floor look nice and warm. On the walls, there were cool paintings and old maps.
The study looked really nice, mixing old-fashioned style with modern stuff, perfect for working or thinking. I was really impressed. It was so different from my pack. The difference was huge.
I snapped back to reality and saw that nobody was there. Was Ella really this mean? It was clear she didn’t like me, but why lie about where the Alpha was with a straight face?
“I shouldn’t be here,” I thought and started to leave. But just as I reached the door, I heard a sudden ring. I stopped and turned around to see that the intercom on the desk was ringing. I felt uneasy about leaving it unanswered, so I went back to answer the call.
My heart jumped when the door suddenly swung open. I was shocked and annoyed, wondering why someone would open a door like that. It scared me! Then, I saw it was the Alpha, the owner of the study. I quickly let go of the phone and tried to calm down.
“Why are you here?!” he yelled, looking really angry. I started to stutter. “I, uh, well… I…” I couldn’t find the right words to say.
I kept staring at the floor because I was too scared to look at him, but I could feel him staring at me.
“Look up!” he ordered. But I was too scared to obey. “Can’t you hear me?”
Finally, I gathered some courage and looked at his face. It wasn’t a good sight. I remember his eyes being hazel, but now they looked fiery and intense.
“I’m sorry, I was supposed to bring your lunch,” I quickly said, hoping to calm him down.
“Why were you using the intercom? Didn’t Ella inform you?” he asked.
I was confused. Inform me about what? “She didn’t say anything to me.”
“You’re not allowed to touch my things. If you do it again, there will be consequences. Now, leave,” he said coldly, and I hurried out.
Even after leaving the study, I was still shaking. I never knew he could be this intimidating. I never imagined this would happen.
***I stood near the kitchen, listening in on the conversation between the women inside. When they mentioned ‘Ella,’ I stopped at the door.“Ella is just jealous and mean. I bet she’s envious of the new girl.”
“Yeah, I heard she’s in trouble. Alpha Damon suspended her from being his personal maid.”
“She deserves it. But hey, is it true she’s also involved with Alpha? I heard she’s like his plaything.”
“Quiet,” the other woman warned. “Be careful what you say. Walls can hear. You don’t want trouble, right?”
Even though they said walls could hear, I already heard everything. Was Alpha Damon really like that? It was disappointing, and the conversation made me feel uneasy. I didn’t want to hear any more.
I walked into the kitchen, pretending I didn’t hear anything. They were surprised to see me, but I ignored their reaction.
“I’m here to return this,” I said, then left without waiting for a response.
A few hours later, I heard that the Alpha wanted to see me. I hoped he wouldn’t kick me out. It was the first time I prayed to the moon goddess in my life. Even when my father mistreated me, I never prayed. But now, I prayed because I wasn’t ready to go back to where I came from. That would be like going through hell again.
I tried to stay calm, but I couldn’t. His room was on the top floor, but luckily there was a small elevator so I didn’t have to climb lots of stairs. When I got there, I saw the door was slightly open, so I waited outside for a moment to calm myself down as I released a heavy breath I didn’t know I was holding.
As I approached, I heard faint noises, like someone moaning. I wasn’t completely human, so my wolf instincts helped me hear better. I wished I had transformed into my wolf form at that moment, but I couldn’t.
I decided to peek through the gap in the door.
My mouth fell open in shock. I’m sure my disappointment showed on my face. My eyes looked sad, filled with unfulfilled expectations. The corners of my mouth turned down slightly, despite my efforts to stay calm.
My shoulders slumped, showing how disappointed I felt inside. Those women were right after all. I don’t know why, but I felt really low, and I wished I hadn’t looked inside.
I saw Alpha Damon and Ella having a steamy moment. It was so surprising and hard to believe. It reminded me of a few weeks ago when I saw Alpha Asher, who was supposed to be my mate, with Rita.
The painful memory came back, making me feel sad and lost in thought. I remembered the hurt from that memory—the feeling of being betrayed or rejected.I wanted to leave, but I accidentally bumped into the door, making a noise that caught their attention.
I apologized in a shaky voice. “I’m… I’m sorry. I’ll come back later.”
“Stop right there,” his cold voice commanded, and I froze in place, hoping he would let me leave.
“Get out,” he yelled angrily at Ella, and I could tell she didn’t want to go. As she walked past me, she glared at me with hatred, and I could feel her intense desire to harm me. I held my breath until she was gone. The smell of someone who had just finished being intimate, which I had witnessed, made me feel sick.
“Come in,” Alpha Damon said, and I cautiously entered the room. He was already changed and sitting on one of the sofas.
I was told to sit down, and I did so reluctantly.
“You’re Sarah, right?” he asked.I nodded quietly, not wanting to look at him. I saw him get up and walk to a small table in the room to grab a bottle of liquor. There was a glass next to it, and he poured himself a drink.I wondered what he was thinking. I glanced around the room and then heard a loud noise. I turned quickly and saw the glass he had been holding earlier shattered on the floor.
I rushed over to him, feeling worried for his safety. “Are you alright?” I asked, but instead of answering, he suddenly grabbed my waist. Before I could react, I was pushed against the small table in the room. It happened so fast that I couldn’t control myself, and my hands knocked over everything on the table.
“S…sir,” I stuttered, trembling in fear.
He moved his face closer to mine, and I felt really uneasy. His breath was warm against my skin.
He looked straight into my eyes, and we stayed like that for a few moments before he finally spoke, breaking the silence between us. “Are you alright with being my personal maid?”
I couldn’t even think straight. What was he asking? I couldn’t speak, so I just nodded quickly. I was in discomfort; he was pressing me hard against the edge of the table.
He seemed to understand my answer before he spoke again. “You saw what happened earlier, you have to do the same. Now.”
His hand touched my face gently, as if asking a question, while his eyes stared into mine with perseverance. We stayed like that for a moment, our breaths mixing, filled with anticipation. His fingers moved softly along my jawline, sending a shiver down my spine with a whispered touch. He leaned closer, almost kissing me, and I could feel his warm breath on my face. In that moment, it felt like time stopped, and everything around us disappeared, leaving only the intense yet gentle connection between us.I kept shaking when he touched me, praying he continued, but then he suddenly stopped and acted like nothing happened. I was confused by his reaction and felt like he only saw me as someone he could play with, nothing more.It took me a while to recover, of course. No man has ever made me feel this way before. None. I watched him walk to the big bed in the middle of the room and sit at the edge. Then he grabbed his MacBook from a small table nearby."Be diligent, cautious and composed
Sarah's POVIt was getting dark, but it was still my first day working. The sunset looked nice, and there was a lot of activity as the pack people were getting ready for an outdoor dinner.I had to help set up outside, so I kept going back and forth between the big pack house and the gardens, carrying things like tablecloths, decorations, and centerpieces for the dining area.I had to go get a box from a storage area far away in the pack house. I felt proud and nervous because they trusted me with this job, and I wanted to do it right without getting lost. I had to follow the instructions carefully because the pack house was huge, and I didn't want to mess up. It was even bigger than my dad's pack house, which I thought was already pretty big.I found the storage area and decided to take a quicker path through the gardens that Ella showed me. The garden was really pretty, and even though there was a lot of activity outside, it was peaceful here.As I walked carefully, I started think
*DAMON*“Search for her now!!” I ordered everyone sternly. I had a bad feeling about her disappearance. It was strange, and I couldn’t make sense of it.I was deeply troubled. What had happened to Sarah? Where could she be? It didn’t seem like she would just leave, especially since she seemed content with her being my servant here.Myles came in a few minutes later and reported, “Alpha, she’s nowhere to be found. The maids mentioned they last saw her during the outdoor dinner preparations.”My heart felt tight suddenly, but I didn’t show it. It was a strange feeling.“Keep investigating,” I said, trying to hide my fear of losing her. I felt responsible for her well-being, and not being able to watch over her was tough.“But alpha, she might have run away,” Myles objected casually. The pain hit me again, and I struggled to keep calm and not grab my chest.“There’s no way she could have left. Find her,” I ordered firmly, eager for him to leave. As soon as he shut the door, I collapsed
ALPHA DAMON POV We went towards the noise, but the walls were closed. I carefully looked at the four walls underground and found what I needed: the door to the noisy room looked like the walls. “She must be here,” I thought. Even though I couldn’t smell her anymore, I kept going underground, believing she was there.I found some clues and pushed the wall, and it opened like I thought it would. The door seemed unused for a long time. We went through it and ended up in a passage. Suddenly, my instincts told me to look up, and someone jumped down. We were attacked right away because the noise from the hidden door must have alerted them. I managed to defeat one attacker by myself before Myles and I continued down the dark, dusty hallway. I was confident we were getting closer to finding Sarah. We saw a door ahead and walked towards it. Before we reached it, the door opened, and a man with a scar on his face came out. He was surprised to see us, clearly not expecting strangers. Myle
SARAH POVI woke up in the morning feeling refreshed after a few hours of sleep. It took me a moment to remember that Alpha Damon had brought us to this new place. I tried not to think about everything that happened yesterday and focused on starting my day positively. After getting out of bed, I went to the bathroom for a wash. When I finished, I realized I didn’t have any clothes to change into, so I stood there feeling puzzled, wrapped in a white towel. Then, someone knocked on the door. “Who’s there?” I asked quickly.“Lady Mimi,” came the reply. I let her in, and I felt excited when I saw the shopping bags she was carrying.“These are for you to change into,” she said, and I nodded happily. “You should come down for breakfast once you are done,” she added, and I thanked her.I changed into some loose jeans, a black t-shirt, and black socks. My hair was a bit messy, so I put it up in a high bun.I looked in the mirror and was surprised by how different I looked. I felt more like
*DAMON*I saw Sarah run to me and give me a hug. I was surprised and stood there stiffly for a moment, wondering what she was doing. Then, she seemed to realize what she was doing, and her hug started to loosen. Before she could let go completely, I pulled her closer and hugged her back tightly. I could feel her starting to lose her breath as I held her tightly. She struggled to speak, saying, “Alpha… Da… Damon,” her words muffled. I let go of her, and she started coughing. “You shouldn’t have tried something you couldn’t handle,” I told her, my focus on her dry pink lips. I felt a strong urge to moisturize them with mine, but Zac held me back.“Not now, man, not now,” he said in my mind. It took a lot to stop myself from kissing her.“I’m sorry. I wasn’t thinking clearly,” she apologized, avoiding eye contact.“Obviously,” I remarked simply. I turned around and walked to my chair.“Meet up with Myles, he’ll give you something,” I said without facing her. I sat at my table, took out
ALPHA DAMON'S POV I woke up slowly and heard soft voices. When I fully opened my eyes, I saw a bright ceiling with soft lights. Looking around, all I could see was a large room. "Doctor, he's awake," a woman's voice said. I realized I was in a hospital room. I tried moving and was relieved that I could. "Relax," I heard a familiar friendly male voice, Jones', reassured me. Realizing it was him, I knew I was in a hospital, a VIP room to be precise. "What happened?" I asked slowly, struggling to remember. "Wait a moment," Jones said, taking a break to examine me. He wasn't just our family doctor; he was also a close friend. "Ouch," I groaned, feeling a strong headache. "Are you alright?" Jones inquired. "My head hurts," I replied, touching my forehead and noticing a bandage. "I'll give you a sedative injection now," he informed me. While Jones continued with his tasks, Sarah entered the room from afar. "Alpha Damon!" she called out excitedly and rushed over to hug me tightly,
Sarah’s POVI told the driver to turn the car around, but he wouldn’t listen. I thought he might not have heard me, so I said it again.“I said turn the car around.” Before I could finish, he grabbed my neck with one hand while steering with the other.I screamed and tried to push his hand away. He couldn’t focus on driving properly, and as I struggled, he lost control of the car. Then, I heard a loud crash as we drove into the wrong lane and hit the road markings.I was in the car, struggling to breathe because something was blocking the air. When I saw the driver bleeding from the head, I tried to escape. But he grabbed my hand tightly and pulled me back into the twisted car.“Where do you think you’re going?” he asked in a scary voice.I bit his hand in the struggle, but he didn’t let go. Why couldn’t they leave me alone?I was getting weaker, and the driver, who I thought was working for my dad, was stronger than me. When I couldn’t fight anymore, something hit our car.Another ca
