Rainy Day

“Not going to punch me?” asked Asher.

Amy stepped out from behind the wall and leaned against the tree. She folded her arms over chest. The aggravation was clear in those orbs of hers. She wanted to tear the man before her.

“Feel lucky that I am holding myself back,” Amy said. Then, her eyes fell on the paper box on the ground, and her scowl got deeper. She then spat, “A lucky bastard indeed.”

In a bitter tone, she added, “she doesn’t even bake for us.”

Asher didn’t understand the reason behind the pang in his chest or the overflowing happiness inside him. The emotions were quite contradictory and made more of a mess out of him.

“She shouldn’t have,” Asher responded, not liking it felt wrong to say that.
