“Petal, you should really go home and rest. You have been working so hard for the past couple of days, I’m really worried about you.”
Hearing that soothing gentle voice, Petal didn’t even need to look over her shoulder, she knew who that was right away.
It was Jaidyn. Her boss and also the owner of ‘Blooming Flower Shop’. Jaidyn was like a big brother to her ever since she came to Hilton City with her younger brother-Camron.
Petal nodded absent-mindedly as a respond because she was focusing intently on what she had on hand.
‘Everything Potions’ was the online store she open. Petal was a white witch that specialized in making potions. Her potions came in various forms; perfumes, sprays, candles, charms etc.
Grabbing a handful of freshly pick rose petals and threw them into the small cauldron pot, Petal twirled her rose quartz crystal wand in the air to stir the content in the pot.
While stirring she glanced towards Jaidyn, giving him a smile, “This is the last order for the day, I’m almost done.”
Jaidyn sighed, stepped forward, cupping Petal’s cheeks in his hands, “Just look at this dark circles and eyebags! You look terrible!”
Seeing Jaidyn up close, Petal felt like she’s almost get blinded by his beauty.
Jaidyn was an omega pixie; his eyes were as bright as the sky, as precious as fine sapphire gems, his hair was like golden sunshine, soft and beautiful.
Petal always wondered who was the bastard that impregnanted Jaidyn and left him. Jaidyn never really talk about what happened, whenever people asked about it, he just said that Ronin’s father is dead.
Petal knew from the expression on Jaidyn’s face that it wasn’t true, but she did not pry into it.
“Jaidyn, too close! You’re blinding me with your beautiful face!” Petal whined dramatically, pushing Jaidyn away.
“Aww~ You’re being so sweet,” Jaidyn said, rubbing Petal’s chubby cheeks, “Such a nice girl.”
There was a knock on the door and Ronin appeared in his pyjamas, “Dad? Aren’t you coming to bed?”
“Hi, Ronin.” Petal said, giving Ronin a little wave and was glad that he’s here because he just saved her from Jaidyn’s rubbing session.
“I’m coming, baby,” Jaidyn said, walking towards the child and picked him up, “Petal, faster finish this and go home, you don’t have to come so early tomorrow.”
Nodding at what Jaidyn said, Ronin urged Petal to go home as well, “Faster go back Petal.”
Seeing both of them worried about her, Petal couldn’t help but feel how lucky she is to have great people in her life.
After bidding goodnight to them, Petal went back working on the order: “Alright! Let’s do this!”
~
“Finally done.”
Petal said as she took a quick glance at the wall clock, “and just in time to meet up with the client.”
Taking out a perfume glass bottle, Petal twirled her rose quartz crystal wand in front of the small cauldron pot. The content in the pot turned into a pale coral pink color and with a flick of her wand, the pink liquid flew into the perfume bottle.
Letting out a sigh of exhaustion, Petal sealed the glass bottle. The liquid swirls in the bottle, shimmering like glitters, just like an opalescent blush that dances in the sunlight.
A smile spreaded across Petal’s face, as she put the product into a box grabbing a paper bag along the way while she quickly dashed out the door.
Reaching her usual meeting spot at the backstreet, she took out her cellphone only to found a message from the customer.
Apparently, the customer wanted to change to mail order instead. The frustration that just began to boil instantly evaporated when a notification pops up indicating a huge tip.
Feeling joyful, Petal swayed her head left to right, humming her favorite tune and want to skip her way home when a loud noise caught her attention.
Turning her head back to the alley, Petal could hear noises coming from deep in the alley. Her grip around her cellphone tighten as she slowly moved towards the source of the sound.
At that moment, Petal did not know what will happen to her because she intervene.
If she knew, maybe she will turn away from the noise.
Maybe? Or maybe not…
It was night, the stars spread out like a blanket across the sky. The streets were empty, with only the glint of a streetlight standing there in loneliness. The light shone into an alleyway where someone was leaning against the brick wall, the person wore a coat that blended in with the red brick wall. Her cap was pulled low on her brow, half her face covered by a huge and obviously fake moustache glasses. Head lifting up upon hearing the clicking sound of the heels; the person saw a woman with lusciously long curls in a tight red dress showing every curves of her hourglass body, her long slim legs look straighter in a pair of gold high heels. When their gazes met, the woman raised a brow and sashayed her way towards the person in reddish brown coat. Her perfectly manicured hand smoothed her locks as she glanced up with her curly lashes: “Did you bring them?” The person nodded, pulling out a barbie pink paper bag with a huge cartoony bubble font that says ‘Thank You’ on it. The
The man nodded and followed her inside, leaving behind a trail of coffee stained pavement.Ace Hudson watched as the woman who reminds him of his cousin’s hamster scurried to led him to the back. His eyes roamed the interior of the warmly decorated store. The scent of blooming flowers and potting soil drifted toward him; the shop smelled like a garden, sweet and full of life. The wall was painted in warm earth tones, with sunlight streaming through the windows, reflected off ceramic pots full of plants.A row of roses in a dazzling array of colors decorated the walls; one was white, another pink, another yellow, and so on. The sight took him back to his childhood, when he had played under rose bushes with his cousin at their garden back in the old family mansion. There were roses everywhere in their yard then.“It’s still a little early before the shop is open,” Petal explaine
“Camron’s numbers are slightly elevated. The suppressant you’ve been taking don’t seem to be doing that well.” The doctor said.“There’s a new suppressant that just came out not too long ago, I have patients who have reacted well to it,” the doctor said, “but it isn’t covered by insurance, and the cost is…”“How much is it?” Camron asked.“It’s…rather expensive,” the doctor said.Camron thought back to what the doctor said earlier at the appointment and felt a heavy weight on his heart. It was a pretty day. The bright sun glinted off of all the windows making the city sparkle, and a light breeze stirred the tress just for fun.Camron enjoyed the way the sunlight broke through the thick canopy of leaves overhead, making little rainbows that danced acro
‘That was too close! It was dangerous!’ Camron thought as he scrambled to collect his things from the floor.Lucas was being pushed away as Camron got onto his feet and started dashing away, looking like he was almost attacked by Lucas.Lucas could only stare with widened eyes when Camron sent him a glare earlier.Camron was long gone, but Lucas was on the ground absent-mindedly staring at the direction where Camron ran off to.His foggy mind started to clear off, that was when he realized, something popped up in his head out of nowhere.‘Does our campus have someone so strikingly beautiful? Like an angel sent down from heaven…’‘Wait… what on earth am I thinking?’‘But, he really looked like a delicate flower.’All sorts of thoughts ran through Lucas&rsquo
Ace put his payment on the table and rushed out of the bar in a hurry. You have to be okay, Lucas.~Camron shook his head and slapped his own cheek, attempting to clear his foggy mind.‘Ugh… seriously shouldn’t go to that drinking party with them,’ Camron thought, trying to find the apartment key in his bag.He just had one drink and he felt as though he is drunk. That was when he heard a faint whimpering sound. Camron flinched, just like Petal, Camron had a habit of being curious too.Slowly moving towards the sound, Camron found himself at the backstreet. He gulped when he saw how dark the alley is and it wasn’t even that late, but he was all alone.Listening intently to the soft sounds, Camron moved towards a pile of cardboard boxes. As soon as
Seeing Camron like that, Lucas couldn’t help but move closer to Camron, putting a paw on him.Camron smiled, taking Lucas’s paw in his hand.“Are you worried about me? Don’t worry…” Camron said, looking towards the door.He knew that his sister only wanted the best for him and also to not worry him. But, she always shouldered everything on her own as if she is doing this by herself. He is also family, he wanted to help.“Sometimes I just wish that my sister will rely on me more instead of…”Lucas just stayed there with his paw in Camron’s hand for a long moment until Camron broke his train of thought and have his emotions tidied. He petted Lucas, putting his gentle smile back on his face, “I need to go to class, stay at home, and rest so that you will get better.”&
Ace’s eyes soften, a dashing smile spread across his face, “and I…”Stunned by his charming looks, Petal blinked, feeling faint blush dusted her cheeks. She snapped back to reality and quickly shoved the notebook to Ace.“Y-you choose from there and I’ll write it down,” Petal said, lowering her head to hide the red on her cheeks as she rummaged for a card and pen.“How about this one?” Ace smirked, holding the notebook up with one hand, and pointed to one of the quotes.“Which one?” Petal was right across the counter and couldn’t see all the clear, so she leaned on the counter and peered at the notebook.“When I’m with you, my days feel brighter, you’re perfect to me-I love you," Ace recited the line, slightly shifting his body around the counter and close to Petal.Pet
“Bun Bun!”Before Lucas could damagedo anything in Petal’s studio, Camron came back just in time to drag him out of there. When they’re out inthe living room, Camron kneeled down on the floor putting on a stern face, but Lucas just found it to be adorable.“Bun Bun, you can’t go in there,” Camron said, making a cross sign with his arm, “that’s where Petal works, if the products are damaged she couldn’t sell them and we’ll go hungry.”Camron went over to the work studio, pointing at the room, and made the cross sign, “Work studio, no no!”Then, he ran back to the living room, “living room, yes.”“Do you understand what I’m saying?” Camron asked.Lucas nodded and re
