My hands were shaking so much that I could barely hold on to my bag anymore. I let it slide through my fingers to the ground as I watched Jackson step out of the house. Jackson paused at the door for a few seconds, staring at me. Suddenly, he rushed forward and grabbed my neck.

“Have you no shame?” he yelled. “How dare you return after everything you’ve done to us? What do you want? To finish your mission? Well, I won’t give you the pleasure.”

I stared at him in shock, unable to say anything. I was silently fighting for my breath, my eyes showing the struggle going on inside me. I looked into Jackson’s cold eyes and saw the murderous gleam in them.

Closing my eyes, I waited for the inevitable. Suddenly, a loud cry pierced the air, making Jackson loosen his hold on my neck. He let go and I opened my eyes, before getting into a coughing fit.
