Always and forever

“What are we going to do about her?” I asked Jackson thirty minutes after he kicked out Francesca. I shuddered when I remembered the madness in the woman’s eyes. It was clear that she would never accept that Jackson wasn’t hers. I used to think she was just obsessed but it turned out she was also delusional. Something wasn’t right in that crazy brain of hers.

Jackson poured the water into the glass and gave it to me before putting the jug back in the fridge. We were standing by the kitchen counter.

“I don’t know,” he said. “What I know is she’ll be leaving the pack house today. I’ve asked them to take her to a secure place as I plan on what to do. “I can’t have her here because she’s a danger to you. I’ve always known she didn’t like you but didn’t think she’d go to the extent of wanting to kill you. I cannot tolerate that.”

I went and hugged him. “Thank you so much. Truthfully, I don’t think I can feel safe with her around.”

“I know.”
