Chapter 27:Keep your hands off her!

Bloody and dismembered dead bodies of strange creatures littered every part of the ground around Kendrick. There was black blood splattered on the trees and grass.

Kendrick leaned against a tree, breathing hard. His clothes were tattered and he had shifted back involuntarily after the fierce fight with the kanimas. His whole body was soaked with the black blood of the creatures and his eyes remained bloodred. Unable to hold himself anymore, he fell down hard on the ground, his vision grey around the red haze edges. On his back, there where three large ugly and bloody gashes. They were claw marks. The rest wounds on his body were already healed but the long gashes on his back remained opened, bleeding profusely.
