My eyes snapped opened, chains wrapped around my arms, effectively restricting my movement.

“The hell!!” I yelled, slamming my hands against the wall.

“You will hurt your hands you know” Ethan said, coming into the light so that I could see him better.

“You bastard!!” I snarled, trying to pry the chains off of me but it was impossible.

“that’s a little harsh, don’t you think?” he said, coming closer to me.

I could smell him all the way from here and for one thing? It was unbearable.

It felt as though his essence was going to suffocate me or something. “You rally did not think that Alpha Ronan was going to want you as his mate right?” He said with this mocking look on his face that screamed at me.

I threw my head to the side, not wanting to look at him, as he was irritating to look at, at the moment and his words hurt. “Come on, I knew you were stupid…” He continued. “… but I don’t think you would be THAT stupid” he continued.

I gulped, focusing on anything that was not him because quite frankly, I knew that somehow, his words were going to get into my head. “Hey” He called softly.

“Look at me when I am talking to you.!!!” He boomed, slamming his hands against the bars causing me to flinch.

“Yo-you know you are just bitter that I chose someone better over you” I said, trying to dig at him.

Wrong move.

He snorted, opening the prison cell as he looked at me, rage in his eyes.

“You think anyone choose you?” He said, taking a step my way. No one, would ever love you” He said it gently, no aggression in his voice as he spoke. It sounded as though he was talking about an established fact, but you could still hear it.

The mockery, the hate. “You should actually be lucky that I even see you worthy enough to stand at my side. This is a once in a life time opportunity, don’t mess this up for yourself” He said, turning to leave the room “Besides, you have no one to turn to except me, so I suggest you play your cards right” I did not move, I did not say anything.

For some reason, I felt weak. Like I was ready to give up.

“Are you done?” I said finally, looking up at him. He looked back, the shock on his face could not be hidden. “You people killed my parents, and honestly, this…” I said raising the chains so that he could see what I was referring to “Might look like you have won total control over me? But I promise you, I am going to make you all pay, starting from the person the betray would have hurt the  most coming from, for my mother, your father”

Satisfaction ran through me as I watched as his shoulders tensed as he understood the implication of what I meant.

“You were the one?”

I bit my lower lip, trying as much as possible to hold in my laughter but it proved impossible.

I laughed, looking at him like the fool he was.

“You dared to harm your Alpha!!” I could not stop myself from laughing this time around as I threw my head back and laughed.

“Be fucking real Ethan” I said, looking at him to hold his gaze, or at least trying to but  my vision suddenly became very dizzy. “I am not afraid of you anymore” He looked at me, the hate in his eyes more than I had ever seen.

“If I go down, your lovely daddy goes down with me” I smiled, resting my head on the bar and taking in a deep breath, trying to steady myself.

He looked at me, this time, panic spread through his face as he ran out of the prison cell, leaving me alone to my thoughts.

I felt a kick in the pits of my stomach, jolting me awake.

I groaned, trying to look for a more comfortable spot on the hard ground, but it was impossible.

“open your stupid eyes” The screech came again, the force that collided with my stomach was much more harder than it was this time around.

I grunted, my eyes widening in an instant as the pain gave me no other options. “You are pretty comfortable, don’t you think?” Esme said, looking down at me with mockery in her eyes.

“What do you want from me?” She scoffed, not expecting that I wold talk back at her.

 “Bold… I like that” She smirked, coming down to my level. “you see, you did something to Ethan, and he is pretty upset about it. I suggest you let go of his dad, whatever you did. And this wold not be as torturing as it could be for you” She said in a hushed voice, as though she did not want anyone hearing what it was that she was saying.

“And if I don’t want to?” I said, standing my ground.

She smiled, expecting that I would say something like this. She looked me long and hard before she threw my mum’s bracelet at me.

It felt cold. The magic completely gone from it.

“Then, I might give you something in return” she said, her voice laughed. I nearly burst into laughter as she thought that she had a leverage over me.

I held it for the longest time, trying to hold back the tears that gathered.

“Don’t you want to…”

“Stop” I said, shaking my head. “I don’t want to be a part of your games and as for the Alpha? Let him rot for all I care” I said, my tone final. I did not want to hear anything from her anymore.

“Very well then. Since you have no problem of your parents bodies rotting in the wild” something about the way she said it as she turned back to give me a knowing look did not sit right with me

“Esme?” I called, causing her to stop, giving me that smile as though she had won or something. “When I get out of here, you better run”..
