DELUSIONS

ANNIE'S POV

“You must be delusional. I only saw you as a sister. Lina is my mate and the one I love,” Damon, my boyfriend of three years, said, while he was still in bed with my sister..

—HOURS PRIOR—

I stood in front of the mirror, playing with the silver necklace Damon gave me last year. It felt warm against my skin. I turned slowly, checking how the red dress looked on me. It was his favorite color. The dress hugged my  figure nicely, showing off my curves without being too much. My long brown hair fell in soft waves over my shoulders, and my eyes looked bright with excitement.

Three years with Damon. Three whole years. He was the rising alpha of his pack, strong and charming, the man who made my heart race every time he smiled at me. I believed he was my mate. I could feel it deep in my bones. One day I would be his Luna. We would build a life together. A simple, happy one full of love and pups.

I had spent the whole morning in the kitchen baking his favorite chocolate cake. The rich smell of chocolate still lingered on my clothes. I even wore the perfume he liked, the sweet floral one that always made him pull me closer. Everything had to be perfect today. It was our third anniversary, and he had promised we would celebrate despite him being very busy with pack business lately.

I smiled at my reflection. “He’s going to love this,” I whispered.

I picked up the small gift I bought for him. It was a nice watch with our initials engraved on the back and I carefully packed the chocolate cake in a box. My wolf, Liera, was happy inside me, pacing with excitement. She liked Damon too. She believed he was ours. My mate.

I drove to his house on the edge of Fur City, humming softly to myself. The modern city streets gave way to quieter roads with big houses and green spaces. When I arrived, I grabbed the cake and gift and walked to the front door with a big smile on my face.

But something felt off. Very off.

I heard strange noises coming from inside. Soft moans and heavy breathing. My heart started racing. Maybe someone was hurt? I pushed the door open and followed the sounds. Clothes were scattered on the floor. It was a trail leading toward the bedroom. A shirt. A pair of pants. And that dress. I knew it because I saw it this morning.

My stomach dropped.

I pushed the bedroom door open slowly despite my shaky hands.

There they were.

My sister’s blonde hair was spread across the pillow like a golden fan. Her legs were wrapped tightly around Damon’s waist as he thrust into her, his body moving hard against hers. They were completely naked. The room smelled like sex and sweat.

“What the fuck?” I screamed.

That got their attention. Damon’s head snapped toward me. Lina looked over his shoulder. Her wide eyes for a second, before breaking into a smile.

“Annie, it’s not what you think,” Damon said quickly, still inside her.

“It’s not what I think?” My voice cracked. “You’re literally buried in her pussy right now!”

I threw the cake box at them. It hit the side of the bed and smashed open, chocolate frosting splattering everywhere. Damon pulled out of Lina and tried to stand up.

“Annie, calm down,” he said,  trying to reachfor his pants.

“Calm down?” Tears burned in my eyes. But I wouldn't let it fall. “Three years! Three fucking years and you do this to me?”

Lina sat up slowly, not even bothering to cover herself properly. “Annie… you’re overreacting.”

I turned to her, my chest tight with pain. “You’re overreacting? You’re literally fucking my boyfriend! Have you no shame?”

Damon suddenly looked at me with cold eyes. “ Whoa! Annie, you must be delusional. I only saw you as a sister. Lina is my mate and the one I love.”

My heart broke right there. “Wh… what?”

“Damon, you clearly don't mean that, right? Y..you…you told me that you love me. You told me yo— Three years! What are you talking about?” I screamed, my heart squeezing painfully in my chest.

Damon just looked at me like I've grown two heads. “You clearly misunderstood.” He said softly like he was trying to pacify a child.

“Get out, Annie,” Lina said sweetly, as if she was doing me a favor. “This is a private moment.”

The pain in my chest was so sharp I could barely breathe.

“Fuck you. Both of you. You deserve each other.”  

I said as I turned and ran before the tears could fall. Behind me, I heard Damon laugh. That laugh used to make me feel safe and loved. Now it made me feel sick to the stomach.

I ran out of the house, my red dress feeling too tight, I felt sostupid. The gift and the ruined cake were left behind. I got into my car and slammed the door. My hands shook as I gripped the steering wheel. Tears finally rolled down my cheeks.

How could he do this? How could Lina do this to me? She knew how much I loved him. She knew we were together. She was the one who introduced us. And they both betray me. They both laughed at me like I was nothing  more than a joke.

I looked at myself in the rearview mirror. My eyes were red, my makeup ruined. The necklace Damon gave me suddenly felt heavy around my neck. I wanted to rip it off.

“They both gonna pay,” I whispered to myself, my voice shaking but growing stronger. “They’re both going to regret this.”

My wolf Liera growled inside me. She was angry too. She wanted revenge.

I brought out my phone with shaky fingers. I knew what I had to do.
