>>>>PROLOGUE
“My King, the letter… it says-” Beta Derrick’s voice trembled, his hands visibly shaking as he held out the paper.
He couldn’t bring himself to read its contents aloud. Not to him. Not to Alpha King Edward of the East.
“What does it say, Derrick?” the King growled, snatching the letter with a snarl that echoed through the grand hall.
Alpha Edward’s golden eyes narrowed, scanning the words in silence. His brow furrowed. Muscles coiled with growing tension as he read further.
His heart stilled. Then he paused. A blink.Another.
No… He read the line again. He hoped he was reading wrong.
“All Alpha-born daughters of age…or pure bloodline are to be delivered to the Capital. By order of the Grand Alpha Kaelen.”
Edward’s fingers curled slowly around the paper, crumpling it until his knuckles turned bone-white.
“T-They want every Alpha… to send their daughter to the Capital?” he whispered, still in disbelief..
Silence.
The kind of silence that falls just before the storm hits.
Then—he exploded.
“Over my dead body!”
His roar shook the very foundations of the Eastern Palace. Windows rattled. The torches lining the walls flickered. A dark, seething aura burst from him as his wolf surged beneath his skin, clawing for release.
“She is not some pawn to parade in front of that hungry bastard in the North!” he spat.
He turned to the guards behind him, who instantly looked away, shoulders tense.
Even so, they knew what Edward’s fury could be like.
A heartbeat later, he slammed his fist into the carved oak table beside him, and splinters flew in every direction. A deep crack snaked its way across the oak table.
“My daughter is not, will never be a blood host for those beasts!” he roared.
His Alpha power pulsed outward. Beta Derrick collapsed to his knees, head bowed, his wolf submitting instinctively. Sweat beaded on his brow.” P-p-p-l-e-a-s-e”
“She’s not going anywhere near that damned Capital,” Alpha Edward snarled, voice low and deadly. His eyes burned a fiery amber-gold, the unmistakable mark of his wolf pushing forward.
“They think because they sit on the Grand Throne, they can summon our daughters like cattle?”
He spat on the floor. “We are not their pets!”
“Your Majesty—” Derrick dared to speak, his voice barely above a whisper. “You know what they’re capable of…”
The Northern pack. The ones they once called beasts though they are something even more dangerous—Cold-Blooded Iron Wolves.
They’d ruled the werewolf kingdom for centuries after overthrowing the former rulers-Nightvale. They thirst for both blood and power. And they had it ... .and, wealth, armies large enough to bring down an entire kingdom.
No Alpha challenged them, No rogue crossed their borders, No pack dared breathe too loudly in their direction.
And now they wanted his daughter.
Akira…..A pup—barely two years old.
His only girl, after six sons. The first child in a generation born with the purest Alpha blood. And they dared ask him to give her up?
Tears filled Derrick’s eyes. A sorrowful growl escaped his throat. Around them, the guards bowed their heads in. It was forbidden to witness an Alpha, let alone a King in an emotional state.
“P-Please, my King…” Derrick whispered. Then looked up. He froze.
Alpha Edward’s face had changed. Ash-grey, laced with crimson. Veins darkened under his skin. His wolf was rising, close to the surface. His decision was final. And it is nothing close to honouring the Grand King's request.
CHAPTER 10>>>>>What happened? I guess I will never know! A few minutes later, Akira made her way back to the kitchen, taking the silent hallway Tyson had brought her through. As she took slow steps, her mind was clouded with different thoughts. She couldn't quite place why Dominus had invited her yet never showed himself to her.Something was fishy, she could feel it deep down in her gut, but she kept moving forward. She had a lot to do today. Even if she spent the whole day in Dominus's room, Madam Estelle would still make her do all her chores at dawn before she could go to bed.So she hastened her pace and made her way back to the kitchen.Once she stepped inside, Beth was the first to recognize her. She flashed a small smile, urging Akira to join her with the dishes.Akira forced a small smile as she stepped in to join Beth when Lyra noticed her.“Stop,” she ordered sternly, dropping whatever she was doing to walk up to Akira. “What happened there? Why did Prince Dominus want to
CHAPTER 9>>>>>Alone with her.In the early hours of the morning, the kitchen bustled with slaves. The air was filled with the aroma of different dishes, filled with slaves, including Madam Estelle and Lyra. Madam Estelle stood by the large pot, inspecting her hands kneading dough, while Lyra scurried between tasks.The slaves moved with a deep sense of urgency, making sure they were doing everything they were supposed to do. Akira stood next to Beth, kneading the flour, when a tall man, six feet two inches, walked into the kitchen, his boots thumping against the hard floor and grabbing everyone's attention.Once Madam Estelle turned her gaze to the man, she recognized him at once,it was Tyson…..the prince's right-hand man. Meanwhile, when Lyra narrowed her eyes at him, her face lit up; she slammed her hands together, shaking off the flour dust, expecting he had come for her."Good morning, Madam Estelle," Tyson greeted, his eyes sweeping across the girls. He wasn't sure who Nia was;
CHAPTER 8>>>>>Nia.Akira's heart raced at the question. She wasn't willing to reveal her true identity. Not only was she from the East, but she was also the Alpha princess of the Eastern pack—the last surviving member of her pure bloodline. During the seven years she had stayed with Dominus, she learned resilience and how to be very calculative. She swallowed hard, choosing to ignore Beth's question again. Beth might be nice, but Akira couldn't trust her.Beth tried again, forcing an awkward chuckle. “Oh, I get it. Yours might be more heartbreaking than you want to talk about, and that's fine.” She shook her head softly in approval. “You can come to speak to me whenever you feel like it.”Akira blinked once. That was all. No reply. She didn't trust Beth, even if she had been nice to her from day one, when she was dumped in the slave quarters.Beth finally let out a small chuckle—well, not really a laugh, just a tired one. “You know, most girls break down once they’re brought here. Mo
CHAPTER 7>>>>>REXRex stood there, his eyes glancing around the whole place. It was the first time he had come to this side of the northern palace, and he was slightly fascinated. His gaze swept over the tall wooden walls, the ornate plates, the goblets, and then shifted to the faces of the slaves inside. However, once Madam Estelle saw him, she knew at once that he was Prince Dominus's son. The news had spread like wildfire that he had returned with a son but no mate.Nothing in the northern palace was really a secret, so she knew no other child would have had the audacity to run around the way Rex was. Her lips curved into a smile as she quickly dropped whatever she was holding and wiped her hands on her clothes, that sinister grin morphing into something more welcoming.“Hello, dear,” she said with a soft voice that surprised both Akira and the other slaves in the kitchen. “Come on, dear. What is your name?”“What a pretty little pup,” she murmured, grinning from ear to ear.Rex na
CHAPTER 6>>>>Meeting Rex.After Akira and Madam Estelle left the hall, the other maids cleaned up her mess. The other siblings couldn't stop looking at Dominus, especially Brevin. They knew it was so unlike him to let anyone go just like that.Brevin narrowed his gaze at him, inquisitive. “So what was that about?”“What?” Dominus raised his gaze, acting oblivious to what had just happened a few minutes ago.Brevin tilted his head slightly, arms crossed, a slow grin forming across his face. “No, no, no. Don’t ‘what’ me. That little scene back there? You don’t let people off the hook like that. Do you know her?”Cierra and Aurora leaned in, their curiosity piqued as well. Everyone in the Northern pack knew Prince Dominus avoided women. When he was in the pack, he was more focused on either his training or the duties his father assigned him.Cierra and Aurora exchanged glances and smirks.“She was being a little too emotional, probably the first time she’s seen me. There’s no reason for
CHAPTER 5>>> FATE.MAYBE? Inside the Grand Northern Hall, the atmosphere felt tense.Prince Dominus, his sisters Cierra and Aurora, and their brother, Prince Brevin waited in silence for their father, King Kaelen, to join them for dinner.Prince Brevin squirmed in his chair, his small stature making him feel even more out of place among his towering siblings. His narrowed eyes searched the ceiling for an escape route, desperate to evade the prying gazes of Cierra and Aurora. They hated him; he could feel it in their laughter and the way they exchanged glances when they thought he wasn’t looking. With a frustrated groan, Brevin gripped the armrests tightly, pushing himself back against the chair. His feet barely grazed the ground, a constant reminder of his dwarfism. Just as he leaned back, his sisters burst into mocking laughter, their eyes darting to his chair. But Brevin ignored them, his focus fixed on the high vaulted ceiling. The next moment, Dominus glanced around when he noti
