Solution in the Unexpected

Lydia Richmond's POV

Literally, this was another form of telling me that Dan would die. He had only twelve hours to live if he wasn't given an antidote but the antidote could only be gotten in Mount Lai which was a six days journey.

I staggered. I thought I was going to die at this point. It was painful that my kid was going to die right in front of me. This was a helpless situation that I couldn't get out from.

I broke down and began to cry. Now, this was uncontrollable. I was indisposed and restless.

“You need to keep it calm, my lady,” Kayla told me slowly. “You still have Ken and Ben to take care of. If you die because of this, who would take care of the remaining?”

I took in this words. It penetrated my heart and reminded me that I still had other things that was necessary.

I held Lauren's shoulder. He had a sad expression as well. Surely, he also didn't like what would happen to Dan.

“Is there another means to solve this? Can Dan be saved? Tell me, Lauren. I would do it even
