Betrayed

Chapter   5

 “ I think this will be okay “ Penelope said as she carried the firewood out of the bush ,but after looking around  she couldn’t find cate neither did she find any trace of her in the woods and that suddenly increased her fears ,she had never felt  this kind of fear her entire life ,she could feel the bad omen .

 “ Cate “ she called but no one answered her.

She knew that cate wasn’t the type to prank her but why she was doing this now was what she still didn't understand .

 She was suddenly worried but turning to her left she saw her coming out .

“ I saw this beautiful flower and I wanted to get it for you ,so I went in to get it for you “ cate  told her smiling as she approached her and put the flower on her head .

“  You got me scared, “ she whispered, taking her hands and walking  away .

“Hey stop holding my hands little, I am your kids sister,we are of the same age just in case you are forgetting that “ she told her giggling .

“ You're funny  ,and you are still forgetting that you are  the weak one here   While am the  strongest here, “ Penelope told her but she just scoffed .

“ You know you don't have to keep on putting on this  “cate told her as she pulled off the   Scarf she used to tie her hair   And her long  brown hair fell down and her blue eyes sparkled .

“ You’re indeed more than beautiful  and I must admit that “ cate told her but she laughed at it ,this girl was just trying to make her happy .

They were about carrying the  firewood  on their head when they heard the heavy footsteps behind  them .

Penelope turned immediately just to find out that they had both been surrounded by the king's soldiers  .

Penelope  could feel her heart fall from her chest ,she had been  betrayed .

“ How could you do this to me ,I thought you said that you loved me all along ,how could you sell me out “ Penelope asked cate with tears in her eyes ,she had never been this broken her entire life .

“What are  you talking about ,I don’t know what you are talking  am as surprised as you are ,we have been living together as siblings for the past one month and you think that I can sell you out “ cate screamed at me with tears rolling down her cheeks and I didn’t need anyone to tell me that she’s not the one responsible for it   And since it wasn’t  her ,it will be no other than her mom  .

“ Cate stay away from her “ she heard cate mom scream and she turned to face her with a cold look on her face .

“How could you ,I trusted you ,I did literally everything to please you how could you do this to me ,if you didn’t want me you should have told me from the beginning instead of selling me out ,I took you as my own  mother  and respected and yet you could do this to me “ she screamed at her anger as it suddenly started raining heavily and they needed no one to tell  them that it was her doing .

“ I can never be your mother you witch “ she screamed at her and just then she felt an arrow pierce through into her back and she screamed in agony as   The pains went through  all her body and the last person that she had ever wished to see walked out making her scared to the bone marrow .

It was no other than the Alpha king and that was alpha Declan  .

She couldn’t hide the hate that was in her heart the moment  she saw him. He was the same person that had killed every last one of them and yet he had come to kill her just the way he did years Ago .

“ Mom what have you done ,don’t tell me you sold her out “ cate screamed crying.

“What were you expecting I do ,do you think I love her ,I just want her out of our life ,that girl is dangerous “ she said and just then a strong hand pulled care away 

“ I think I had enough of  all   This drama ,bring that  bitch here “ Alpha Declan  told them   Walking away but just as they tried she commanded a strong wind and it did ,she wanted to go away but then she saw an arrow coming her away ,she knew that she couldn’t dodge it but after waiting for a while without feeling any pains she turned and saw cate on the floor with blood coming out of her .

Looking at the girl that she had spent a month with  and had lived with she felt like she was going to die the next moment. She was the only girl that had shown love to her but yet she couldn’t protect her .

“ What have you done “She screamed  at them with a terrified look on her face as she rushed to where she was .

“ Am sorry Penelope ,am sorry that I couldn’t protect you as I had promised  ,am sorry I let you down ,you don’t know how much I love you ,I wish that you can look into my heart  and see how much  I love you ,this past few  days that I had spent with you had been the best of my life and I promise you that I will not take it for granted ,I just want to make sure that  you are safe but it seems like   I will not be able to fulfill that ,I really do love you so much ,much more than you had ever imagine and can ever think  of “ she  cried holding on to her clothes tightly and the tears that  started coming out of  eyes   

 She couldn’t hold my emotion at this moment ,the fact that she was in so much pain was killing me to the bone marrow and I felt like breaking  everyone apart. This girl is the  only  girl that had ever  treated me well but yet I still couldn’t protect her .

 Penelope walked to cater on the  floor and smiled softly .

She bent to where she was and dragged the arrow out with cate  crying in pain but her mom didn't show any emotions 

The two girls hugged each other crying  .

“ Shoot her and bring her along ,take the girl to a physician “ Alpha declan told them angrily and before she could say a word more than  ten  arrows were shot in her back 

“ I will be back for you my love ,just be fine and prepare for me “ Penelope told cate and that was the last thing she remembered ,she passed out .
