Meeting her

Chapter   3

 Penelope walked into the village with her head covered ,she was wearing a long regalia and no one could tell her identity .

She had to hide what she  really was because she knew how much the people hated the witches ,it doesn’t matter if she was an hybrid , she still had that looks of a witch and that didn’t  make it different they just wanted her dead at all cost ,the same way that they had killed her Parents and siblings years ago ,that was something that she could never forget no matter how hard it was for her ,she was never going to forget about the  cruel way that she had been treated her whole life .

The busy market brought back her thoughts as she tried to walk past but she felt someone hold her leg .

She immediately raise up her leg and she saw that  it was a kid ,she could see the way the little girl was lost staring at her eyes ,well she wouldn’t blame them but she had those blue eyes and no one needed to tell  anyone because they already knew that she was a witch and that was something that she hated so much and couldn’t stop thinking about it   ,she had tried using her dark magic to stop her blue eyes from glowing but it just would not stop and before she could talk to anyone she had to charm them so that they wouldn’t notice her blue eyes .

 “You look so beautiful, “ the girl cried, holding on to her blouse tightly .

“I am “ Penelope cried out of shock ,this was the first time that anyone had actually said good things about her  and coming from a kid made it more  genuine than ever and that made her smile after a very long time ,she was just so happy .

 She was lost staring at the little anger that was holding her that she didn’t notice  the mother screaming the kids name and the kids holding tightly to her .

“ Tessy “ she heard the woman scream worriedly .

“ Please don’t let mama see me “   The kid cried, holding on to her more  tightly .

Penelope didn’t know what to do ,if she should let the child go or just  take her along. She had suddenly loved this child  ,her thoughts were suddenly uncovered when she felt someone pull up the  cap from her face and that was when she heard everyone gasp .

“ A witch  “  she  could hear most of them say in shock .

Penelope felt like the world had just ended ,how did she get into this trouble  she thought within herself,she knew that she was going to be killed if She was caught  it didn’t matter if she a hybrid or not ,all her physical features were that of a witch so it was really impossible to  say it out .

The child still grabbed her innocently,but was quickly taken away as the angry mob moved closer as they  tried to descend on her but before they could say jack ,she pulled the child gently from her and immediately took to her hills but not after causing a great commotion making them not to see her.

She had run far when she heard the horrors behind her.

She ran as far as her legs could carry using both her magical powers  and also using her  legs. Her eyes were getting watery ,she was tired of it .

She had run away from the village and into the city when  she felt an arrow on her  legs. She groaned in pain as  she quickly pulled the arrow away but she wasn’t bothered ,it was definitely going to heal up ,but it didn’t instead she could feel it getting hot .

She ran into a nearby bush  and hid behind a tree as she watched all the hunters run by .

She held a sign of relief after finding out that they had just run by ,she stood up and groaned in pain at the kind of pains she felt from the legs  and that was when she realized that the arrow was poisoned .

She sat back on the  floor and closed her eyes ,but immediately she felt a hand tap her and her eyes opened immediately ready to grab the captive .

“ Come with me ,if you don’t want yourself dead “‘she saw a woman of about 30 years say and behind her was a girl of about the same age as her and she didn’t need anyone to tell her that  ,the girl was the one who had asked the mother to save her .

“Are you okay “the girl asked, walking closer to her and wrapping her hands around her shoulder as she grabbed her up .

 Penelope groaned as she stood up with the girl holding her .

“You both have to hurry because they will be back anytime soon and I don’t want to get caught in this ,because it’s not going to be funny at all “

The  woman said, walking ahead of them .

“It’s okay mother ,we will be fine, '' The girl said, increasing her space .

“ Our house is just a little down there “ she told her and that only means that they were living in the outskirts of the town .

Penelope nodded quietly and soon they got to a small cottage  and they entered .

The place felt so warm that she felt like sleeping already ,she couldn’t remember the last time that she slept  in a good place like this ,this was just  so sweet .

The house was decorated and was beautiful to behold ,the chair was there and so was the table. The girl made her sit on the chair and immediately rushed in to bring some medicine and after cleaning the legs she started applying them on it .

“ You know the moment I saw you at the market ,I liked you already ,your blue eyes were what I loved the most and I couldn't let you get injured and so I had to beg mom to help me come save you ,you don’t have to be scared about anyone finding out about your,am going to make sure that no one  finds out and about my mom ,she won’t let anyone know ,so you are safe here “ she told her smiling sweetly and for the first time Penelope let out a smile .

“Thanks “ Penelope nurtured Camly gently  and the girl smiled widely .

“ My name is Caterina and  it was nice meeting you ,hope you don’t mind telling me your name “ the girl asked her .

“ Penelope “ she replied, staring directly into her eyes and she could see the way the girl blushed hardly ,this was more than she had expected .

 “ I will be back “ the girl said and walked away and when Penelope raised her head she could see the way the woman looked at her .

“I don’t know what you have done to my daughter ,but whatever that it is it better be good,you witches are demons and are supposed to  be killed “ the woman said .

“ I'm just 18 and I mean no harm ,I know that the humans and werewolves hate my kind but that doesn’t mean that I am harmful ,if you don’t want me staying I can leave “ Penelope said and immediately the girl walked in ,it seemed she had been listening to all their discussion .

“ Mom, why don’t you want me to be happy ?” She asked with tears in her eyes .

“ I never meant that darling ,I was just addressing her '' her mom pleases .

Penelope watched them and  began to read deep into their mind and she knew that the girl loved her ,but the woman was the one having doubts about her .

“ I promise “ she heard the woman say and walked out but not minding what they had said she walked off .
