Chapter   4

Alpha Declan  picked up the piece of cloth that he had seen on the floor .His subjects knew best not to go close to him at this moment because they could feel the anger that was in him and going close to him at that  moment meant that you wanted to die .

“ How could all the men in the city be so foolish and let that witch go , she was here and you let her go , you let her escape from your hands,what manner of incompetence have you just show. To me “ Declan screamed trying his best to hold his anger ,because he was holding himself from bursting from anger .

“ Your majesty ,I have  already chosen my finest and strongest water lines ,all you just have to do is  to give us time and we will bring her right to you if that’s what you want “ the king said with a scared voice as he tried his best to make sure that the alpha king  didn’t get annoyed,he just couldn’t risk it ,he was just a mere human and the alpha had been helping him protect this town and there’s no way that he can let this go .

“ you had the finest men but yet she could escape ,she was in the market where there are thousand of men but yet none of them could get her so what makes you think that any of your men will be able to get her “ he screamed at him in anger and just immediately  one part of the palace fell off  and people began to scream as they ran apart .

“ You better find her  in the next five days or else you and  the whole of your Kingdom will pay for this “ he told him and with that he walked  away with his men and beta following closely behind him .

Days turned into weeks and weeks turned into months ,it’s been  a month since Penelope  started living with cate and her mom and now she‘s beginning to get used to their way of life and  was beginning to know  more about the woman she was beginning to see as her mother .

“ Penelope can you please come with me so we go get some  firewood “ she heard cate scream from the room  and she stood up from the clothes that she had been washing from the past one hour .

“ Why don’t you wait till I get done with these things “ she told her, smiling .

“ Don’t worry dear ,I will get  done with it “ cate mom told her with a smile on her face .

Penelope looked at the woman and without anyone telling she knew that all wasn’t well but she just couldn’t place her hands on it .

“ You  girls should be back early  “ she told them and with that cat dragged her away .

This month with cate had been the best of her life ,she was the sister that  she never had    .

“ Hey “ she heard someone snap her face and she came  back to reality .

“ Hey what’s wrong ,I had been calling you for the past  few minutes but you haven’t been answering ,I hope that all is well “ cate asked with a calm look on her face .

“ Am fine ,let's just get done with this and get back home ,I just have a bad feeling  and my instinct never lies to me “ she told her, holding a harsh breath .

“ Hey ,you don’t have  to worry ,I am going to make sure that I protect you with my last drop of blood ,I won’t  let anyone harm you “‘cate told her but instead Penelope just smiled and looked away .

“ I know that you would be thinking i'm just some kind of weak human but that  doesn’t matter right now because  I will always protect you “ she told her but instead Penelope pulled her into a tight hug ,she wasn’t someone that could express herself through speaking , if only she could ,she had a lot of  things to tell this girl ,she was the only person that had sincerely loved her ,not minding the way she was .

“ Hey you are crying  “ cate said  to her and she pulled away and clea the tears .

“ I never cry so stop making me look weak “ she said and walked away leaving her behind .

“ Hey ,am sorry ,I never meant to annoy you  “ cate called begging her as she rushed towards her and laughing at the same time ,this was just too funny .

“ So you are trying to tell me that you have been keeping this girl in your house for  the past one month “ the alpha king asked, looking at the woman with a cold look on    His face .

If only men could see his heart ,then they wouldn’t be   Here laughing with him ,he was just so angry  right now ,he just couldn't Believe it .

“ You highness, what do we think that we should do?” his beta asked, breaking him out of his thoughts .

“ You know what to do  ,just get the men ready and get prepared for me “ he told him and looked away .

“ You will get your payment the moment the girl had been captured ,the human king told her and she nodded with a satisfied look on her face ,she just couldn’t wait to get rid of that girl for good ,the bitch was  getting on her nerves all this while ,thought she had tried to hide but she just couldn’t keep it anymore but one thing she must do was to make sure that  her daughter doesn’t finds out that she’s the brain behind all this because she could bear  to lose her child .

“ Let’s go woman , I hope you aren’t playing games with me “ the alpha king told her and she nodded fearfully .
