Chapter 32

You're Nothing But A Loser

/-Tediora-/

The moment Dominic dragged me out into the training yard, I knew I’d messed up.

Students crowded in quickly, their eager voices swirling like vultures circling a corpse. Some climbed onto stone ledges for a better view. Whispers filled the air, some taunting, some breathless with excitement.

"Is he really going to fight Alpha Dominic?"

"He’s dead."

"Why would anyone provoke a phantom wolf?"

I stood under the dying light, sweat cooling on my back, blood crusted on my lip from earlier. Dominic didn’t say a word. He didn’t need to. The look in his eyes was enough.

He tossed a knife toward me. I caught it without thinking.

That was his permission. For me to defend myself if I could. When he said he would make me regret it, I didn't think the punishment was going to be fighting him but I was stupid enough to take the challenge.

Every part of my logical brain screamed for me to back down. To quit this madness and calm the fuck down but I di

  • The Alphas' Bodyguard Is A Girl   The Argument

Chapter 33/-Rhys-/“So what now? Are you going to drop him?” Asher asked a little too eagerly. I continued staring at the test results for the hunt game. She didn't land a single kill and from what I heard, she didn't even attempt to. She came back with all her arrows intact. I chuckled. The little mouse never ceases to surprise me. I didn't even peg her for one who was afraid to kill a person.“Why would I do that?” Dominic asked him. “Alvin has talent. That was the reason I picked him in the first place. So no, I'm not going to drop him because of a mere test result.” “You do know you will have to eventually if he keeps going further down the rankings, right?” Zeke mused, flipping the page of his novel. Asher frowned. “I still don't get what's so special about him that you are so bent on keeping him around even though he is clearly under qualified.” Dominic glared at him. “He is my bodyguard, not yours. You are more than free to pick whoever you believe is more qualified.” The

  • The Alphas' Bodyguard Is A Girl   Anger

Chapter 31Anger/-Tediora-/Throughout the day, I became a shadow of myself. All I could think about was the fact that I couldn't save that little girl. A girl who needed me. I lay in bed, hugging my pillow as that moment replayed over and over in my head. The way the arrow shot through her head in a loop. My eyes watered and I squeezed the pillow tightly. If only I could have worked faster. If only I didn't lose my shit after seeing her body and healed her faster, I would have been able to teleport her before she got killed.Tears spilled from my eyes onto the pillow. “Hey, Alvin…” I heard Basil's voice behind me but didn't bother to answer him. I had nothing to say to him. “I… I heard what happened earlier…”I didn't offer any response. “I… I understand that it sucks, but trust me,. it's not the…”“End of the world?” Sammy interrupted Basil with a mocking laugh. “Is that what you wanted to say? He went to a test battle field and couldn't kill a single one of those disgusting c

  • The Alphas' Bodyguard Is A Girl   Failed

Chapter 30Failed/-Tediora-/They were killing people. Living, breathing, people!I thought we were hunting animals! I dropped my quiver immediately and reached for the bleeding child. “Hey, hey,” i called gently, but she was fast loosing consciousness. My heart was beating really fast. And my lungs… God, I couldn't breathe. “Pleaseee…” the child called out quickly. “Help…”My hands were trembling. If I took out the arrows, she would die.'Teddy, you need to calm down…’ Ava said, even though she was a bit shaky herself. I couldn't calm down. All I could see was blood. Images flashed in my head and the child in my hand suddenly had the face of Mariel.“No…” I whispered. “No, no, no, noooo! You can't die on me! You can't die…’’'Tediora, calm down and heal her. At this rate you will only produce unstable magic!’ Ava pleaded desperately. Tears gathered in my eyes. I couldn't unsee him no matter how hard I tried. He was there in my arms, about to die. I squeezed my eyes shut, try

  • The Alphas' Bodyguard Is A Girl   The Hunt

Chapter 29The Hunt /-Tediora-/“Well, I didn't ask for your help,” I huffed. I expected him to bite back. Say something infuriating. Just argue with me. “You can leave now,” he said instead and I blinked. That was out of the blue. “Why?” I asked. “Well, both our moods are ruined. It's pointless,” he said simply, pulling the table drawers to take out a pack of cigarettes. I watched him flick the lighter on. “You don't really like him that much, do you?” “To be fair, I don't like a lot of people,” he shrugged, moving to the bar to grab himself a drink. “Are the rules rally that strict?” I asked him. “What rules?” He proceeded to play oblivious.“Why does one's sexuality concern the academy? What about fated mates? Do they also have to suffer the same fate?” I asked. “You could simply drop out. A mate shouldn't be a priority in MoonCrest. There are bigger… goals,” he said almost indifferently. I studied this man carefully. Why does it he seem so unbothered about everything?“I

  • The Alphas' Bodyguard Is A Girl   A Double Debt

Chapter 28A double debt/-Tediora-/I wasn't sure if I was supposed to separate the fight or not, but if I stepped out there, it would only be a confirmation of Rhys lies and I didn't want that. I wasn't ready for that. At first, it was an easy exchange of punches. Nothing too critical until their scents began thickening.I could feel the pressure in my bones. The increased flow of blood, rushing violently from the rapid pumping of my heart. A sharp pain seared through me, as breath knocked out of my lungs. My knees hit the ground and I clutched to my chest as Ava growled in pain. That was the consequence of being an omega in the midst of Alphas. They were letting loose, allowing their wolves to take over. Blood trickled down my nose, the tiny droplets hitting the floor as I crouched over. I couldn't just ignore it anymore. If I say still, this pain will drive me insane. So I held on to the door for support and pulled myself together, gritting in pain. I pushed the door open a
