Leon:

Lucy keeps her head down, not speaking or looking at either of us.

"No, no one died, now what did mom say?" I ask, wanting to change the subject quickly.

"Lucy, what's the matter? What is going on?" Liam asks, not wanting to give up on the fact that there is clear tension between Lucy and me.

Lucy doesn't respond but instead grabs a menu and starts looking at it.

"Is this what I choose from?" she asks, making me realize that she had definitely never been to a restaurant before and that I was making her entire experience awful.

Liam glared at me before scooting into his seat to sit more directly in front of Lucy.

"Here," he says, opening the menu to the back page and shows her where the drink section is.

"There will be a waitress here soon, so you'll want to figure out what you want to drink first. You're 18 now, so you could get a beer or a mixed drink if you wanted. This one is popular," he says, pointing to the margarita.

She looks at him for a while before clearing her throat

How does Liam not know that she is also his mate? & if it's because she's suppressing her scent, how does Leon not know that she is?

Leon:"You should probably eat something little mate," I say, noticing her picking around her plate."I'm not very hungry," she says."How about some air hockey or pool?" Liam suggests."I've never played either of those, but I can watch," Lucy says, making my heart sink.I've lost track of how many drinks she has had at this point, but I can tell she is feeling them because she has loosened up a lot and is now a little clingy, which I love."No way! You have to learn eventually. We can play air hockey, that might be a little easier to learn at first. Leon gets a little too serious when we play pool," Liam smiles at Lucy. She looks at me as if for approval. I did not like that.'Goddess Leon, probably because the first time she is vulnerable with you and tries to be honest. Mind you, less than 24 hours after finally finding safety and almost being taken advantage again, you choose to yell at her,' B growls, getting angrier at me at each passing moment.'Wait what?' I growl back at B.S

Liam:The moment that I step back into the doorframe to see if they're coming, Lucy's arousal hits me like a ton of bricks.'Goddess, she smells tasty,' Bo purrs. If there is a hell, we're going there for the thoughts that are fleeting through my mind about my brothers mate."Alpha!" The way her voice screeched, it had likely woke up my parents. Why the hell is this she-wolf in the Alpha's wing of the packhouse? Especially at this time of night.'Oh no, this is going to be bad. Really bad,' Bo says.I watch as Lucy pulls herself away from Leon to look behind him.Leon looks at me and mouths "fuck" before turning to look at Savina stomping down the hallway towards us.I could see the fire flicker from Lucy's hands for a brief moment and got a deep rooted feeling that this was going to end very badly.Savina stopped in her tracks as Leon had turned around and she noticed Lucy."Since when did you become some player? First that other girl and now her!" she screams.Other girl? My brother

Lucy:My entire night was like one giant rollercoaster of emotions.Telling Leon what had happened had nearly sent me into an anxiety attack. I knew I had to tell him. I couldn't have dinner with both my mates, Liam not even knowing I was his mate, with this big secret weighing over me this way.Several things became more apparent to me through the night.First, Liam and Leon may be identical, but they are polar opposites in personality.Leon had a sophisticated sense about him that made me feel secure and understood, but Liam, on the other hand, was sensitive and free-spirited. I was actually relieved to get to see this side of Liam without him knowing I was his mate.It eased some of my concerns.Liam was genuinely considerate of his company, mate or not.He made sure that I felt comfortable, and I adored him for this. He cared about how others felt in his presence. The waitress was a total hag to me, and he made sure I didn't have to continue to interact with her. He didn't miss

Lucy:I walk over and sit next to him. His eyes were wide the moment he seen me, he didn't say a single word as I made my way over to him and plopped down."Do you always dream of stuff like this?" I ask, getting straight to the point and not leaving out that we're in a dream this time. After the mess I made with Leon, I knew I needed to put my big girl panties on and start dealing with Liam straight away."I... well... I mean, wait dream?" he asks, now looking around as if realizing at that second that none of this was real. His face turns pink with embaressment before he looks back at me."Dream?" he asks again but it's less of a question this time."Yeah, it's like dream walking or something like that. At least that's what Tricia calls it. The first time I did it, it was less..." I trail off, trying to find the best word to desribe how different the atmosphere was that he had brought me into."Oh Goddess," Liam groans, grabbing my wrist before pulling me through the building and out

Lucy:I immediately ran back to the door and opened it. Leon and Liam looked back, stopping whatever conversation they were having to give me their attention."I fucked up!" I say, the words barely coming out between my panicked breathing.Leon walks up to me, apprehension laced through his expression when he cups my face. He's sending me the most calming tingles through my soul, relaxing me the best he can."What is it?" he asks. He's helped with my anxiety enough so that I can try to explain, but all I can think about is that we need to go, and we need to go fast."The dungeon, there were girls in the dungeon! I set the place on fire with those girls still in there!" I say Liam's face goes pale as he realizes what I'm saying."I need to go!" I yell, turning to run toward the entrance of the packhouse.I can't tell who is following me; I don't waste time looking back to see; I just know that I need to get there quickly.I shift the moment I get out of the packhouse. Lucy:I'm feeling exhausted by the time I get back to the grounds. We used every bit of energy getting to that building and getting the girls out but I wouldn't be able to rest until I know they're in recovery and doing better.I walk into the pack hospital and watch as Judy's face goes from its typical expressionless form to panic in two seconds."Luna," she nods at me before standing up to open the door for me.Nia chuckles at the stark difference in treatment but doesn't say anything."I'm no Luna yet, I correct her. It doesn't feel right having such a title when I haven't been marked or mated to Leon or Liam. I also need to work on my confidence in myself, as I'm still not sure if I'm Luna material. My mistake was still weighing on me. With time, I knew I could work through it."Where are the three girls that were brought in?" I ask her.She quickly takes me down the hall and points to three different rooms."This won't do. Do we have a larger room that can fit all of them?" I a

Lucy:I went out the same side door that Seth and I had gone out of to get to the garden. I was avoiding running into Leon and Liam.'Are you able to meet Alpha?' I link Leander as I sit on the bench and take a deep breath.'Stop with the formalities, Lucy. Otherwise, it's perfect timing. Sybil is at the city building. I can meet you there soon,' he links back.'Thank you,' I link back before heading to the side of the garden and leaving out of the black metal gate.Thankfully, the city building was one of the few places I knew how to locate since I had to go there to get stuff for the gala."I'm in here, sweetie," I hear Sybil's voice down one of the small hallways that have different meeting rooms. She is gorgeous. She looks like a goddess and presents herself so gracefully.A she-wolf could only dream to be half as impressive as she was."Luna," I bow as I enter the room and look at her.She laughs and walks over, pulling me into a hug.Her scent was calming, maybe because she was

Lucy:"The boy's connection is much deeper than other twins. Being able to link with each other and feel each other's emotions and thoughts is something that typically is only seen with a mate. I just had a feeling they might end up having the same mate. It would make for a powerful connection for all of you," she says, making me swallow hard.My cheeks instantly heated up as I remembered what Liam had said to Leon when we joined him on the patio after our... shower."Also, those two are inseparable. They do better together and bring out the best in each other. I'm not sure they could handle not having the same mate, to be honest," Leander shrugs, finally surrendering to his Luna's assumptions."Really?" I say, with so much hope that it makes Sybil giggle."Well, first things first, you need to stop masking your scent," she says, arching her eyebrow at me and giving me a small scold. She's right, but I can't help but feel like they're acting like this is so simple."So, I should just w

Lucy:Leander said yes, of course. I knew that he would.Rosie was over the moon with excitement, and while I think we were all still shaken up about the crazy driver situation, this was a silver lining."Of course, Tallie and Maddel will have to agree. After all, they did adopt Rosie, and she is not an adult yet," Leander states.I couldn't tell what it was, but I didn't care too much for Rosie's adoptive mother, and I hadn't met her adoptive father yet."You're like a magnet for danger!" That's Trish.About time she shows up.Oh no. She doesn't have Saul. It's getting late. We've been here for longer, or the entire crash and chaos took more time than I had thought."Trishy, where is your mate?" I ask, staring at the cottage in hopes that Saul will come around the corner, but he doesn't.He went with Seth.Of course, he did. It makes sense, but I still can't help but feel bad. I keep feeling like everything is my fault. Anyone around me is put in danger left and right."Stop," Seth

Lucy:A gentle hum vibrated from my connection with Rosie before everything went black.Am I the only one who can hear her this way?"Hello?" I ask into the darkness.A blue light illuminates the darkness. I shield my eyes with my arm momentarily until the light dims, and I'm left sitting on a garden bench."You're okay," I hear Liam's voice.I jump, startled by his presence in my space. My space? Where am I?"What? How?" I ask, turning my body to face him fully now.Liam just smiles at me and pulls me onto his lap to straddle him."This doesn't-" I'm cut off by Liam's lips softly pressing against mine.He gently wraps his arms around me, pulling my body closer to his in the process. For a brief moment, I let myself go, bringing myself into this moment with Liam."Wait!" I pull away."This isn't real. You aren't real!" I say, tearing up again.I had a horrible feeling about Liam going on that mission. How do I get out of here? I need to find Liam. Real Liam.Dammit, Rosie, what did

Seth:'What do we do?' Leon links me.Lucy has been crying in his lap for at least five minutes now as we drive to Rosie's.Goddess, why did she have to live so far out of the way? A large spot on his shirt was soaked with her tears. He's been doing a great job soothing her, the best anyone could, but she's not being receptive like she normally is.I can tell even Leander is getting nervous. Lucy's mood seemed to sway anyone within 20 feet of her.'Maybe it's a good thing we're going to Rosies,' I link back.Honestly, I have no idea. I had never seen Lucy act this way.Liam's leaving broke her into pieces. At least a million of them."Lucy!" Leander speaks up before clearing his throat.I watch as she hiccups and clears her throat, wiping her tears as they continue to flow steadily down her cheeks."Liam has been on a lot of scouting missions. This is his specialty. He managed to make it to Kragen's facility, find you, and come home in one piece. He will be okay," Leander states, s

Lucy:'Lucy! Wait for us!' Liam links me, but Nia isn't listening.Neither am I.I gave Nia complete control; she needed this. We should have gone for a run first thing this morning. We're gaining on him. I can feel the strength running through our blood, supplying us with more energy. The sound of his heartbeat sounds like rocks beating relentlessly against a drum. He's scared.Good.'There he is!' I say, even though I know she can see him too.The sound of paws is now beating heavily against the dirt ground, echoing off the solid oak and maple tree trunks. Of course, he had headed straight towards the forest. Anyone trying to get away would run in this direction but an unanswered question pops into my head.Where is he running to?'Wait! Nia! Let him get away!' I shout as loud as I can.I feel her growl vibrate through our entire presence as she leaps over a fallen oak log, our paws nearly brushing against the bark.I force myself forward, shifting mid-air against her will. • The Alpha's Secret Daughter   185 - The Driver

Lucy:"We'll have to take a car to Rosie's," Seth says as we head out the front doors of the pack house. For the most part, everyone understood what I had explained to them earlier about the connections, but if there was one thing I was holding very close to me, it was Hecate telling me to trust my gut.I had a third sense for things. It wasn't my core gift, but it acted very close to it.At some point, I needed to get Seth alone to help me plan for my other mate's birthday. While the ceremony would be on their actual birthday, I had a small idea of what I wanted to do for them as my gift, and it wouldn't be able to be on their actual birthday. The typical black SUV pulled around with a driver I hadn't seen before. It wasn't their usual guy."Can I take the passenger seat?" I ask, feeling oddly uncomfortable with this new driver for some reason unknown to me at this moment. While it may seem odd to take the passenger seat with how I'm feeling, it's really not. The closer I am to this d

  • The Alpha's Secret Daughter   184 - Savina's POV

Savina:"What took you so long?" I hiss. They left me for dead; I just know it.My throat feels like sandpaper as I sit up in the cot I had been in for the last several days."Be thankful we came back for you at all," Kash says.I have no clue where we are. The room is dark, and they haven't let me leave since I got here. They lied to me. Lucy wasn't supposed to have her magic. It was supposed to be an easy task.Although my plan was never to take her out in a challenge, I was improvising. The goal was to separate her from her mate's bond so that if her magic ever came to fruition, she would not gain her full strength.Kash never told me why we were doing it. Some might think I was a fool for following his orders blindly, but I trusted him.I loved him.I never wanted Leon the way that I had made it seem. It was a means to an end."How could you say that, Kash?! I did what you asked of me!" I defend. His comment nearly shattered my heart into a million pieces."You are a fool, Savina!

  • The Alpha's Secret Daughter   183 - Food for Thought

Lucy:We had lunch and revisited the plan we had made with Zeak after getting blood samples. There were still many things to do at this point, and I wasn't sure which direction to take next.We decided to have lunch at the pack house cafeteria. I told my mates we needed to start being more present in the pack."This doesn't mean that Savina is a demi, does it?" Liam asks."No, there weren't enough markers. She was given a gift somehow. That means we're working against magic that we hardly know anything about," Theo explains.Nadia looks worried, even though she is trying to pretend otherwise."Are you not going to explain to me why you want my blood tested?" I ask Nadia for what has felt like the millionth time.I know she isn't being completely honest, but what I had said to Seth was true.I want to build her trust and guidance, but I don't want to push for answers because I know sometimes we just don't know what the answer really is.I gave Theo another sample of blood—a fresh one.

  • The Alpha's Secret Daughter   182 - Old Magic

Lucy:"How did you think of that?" Seth asks as we walk to the city building. The air was cool, fresh, and crisp. The combined scent of pine and lilac lingered about the pack as it always had, but today, it was different. The rain the prior night had wafted the earthy scents further into civilization. I couldn't breathe in enough of it, and it relaxed my soul."Think of what, mate?" I asked. His question was random, as we had been walking for a few minutes now in silence."Doing a reverse Luna ceremony," he explains as if I should already know.I stop in my spot and look over at him, trying to gauge his emotions fully and independently.I hadn't considered that there was typically a Beta female, too, and being mated with Seth made it all the more complicated. He never mentioned me being a Luna or a Beta female, and I hadn't thought to ask either."It just made sense to ensure the pack is connected to me and has their full strength. This way, I'm not a Luna or a Beta female. I'm just m

Lucy:"Her position is next to us!" Seth speaks up.He's protective in a way that's different from my other mates. He knows I'm insecure about my place amongst others.Or... at least I was. I'm not anymore. My mom knew I was going to have power that was bordering on unimaginable and most certainly unreasonable. No one needed the kind of power I had, yet here I am.She knew I would gain strength one day, so that I wouldn't be able to be so easily cracked. I was starting to understand how the Fae functioned and understood themselves with their magic. It was different. I wasn't the same, and I would never be the same again.I didn't want to be."Calm down, that wasn't what I was saying," Leander starts. The longer he takes to explain whatever's on his mind, the more the room feels like it's losing oxygen. I'm having a hard time controlling my feelings, sitting here waiting."I need you all to start considering what the pack's impression will be when Lucy has marked both the Alpha's of thi
