Lucy:

Talk about weird goodbyes.

I didn't say much more to Leon about him not being the father of Savina's baby or that she was taken to the hospital.

As much as I hated keeping anything from him, I knew the information would only make him distracted, and I didn't want that to happen while he was at Rusty's pack.

Not when I know the council member will be there and could potentially be a threat.

We would have to have some hard conversations when he got home.

"I'm ready!" Liam stands with a massive smile on his face, looking at me after he comes out of our bedroom and into the living room.

"What's in the backpack?" I ask, giggling at how giddy he is to go to the cave.

He walks up and kisses my face all over before standing back and smiling again like a child.

"Well. It's getting late, which means it will be getting dark. I brought some flashlights, snacks, some of the potions my grandpa gave me... OH! A couple of extra hoodies in case you do something weird again, like jump into the wat

Lucy:'His Luna must have died if we can feel our bond,' Nia says, making me feel sick to my stomach again.'Nia, stop,' I murmur. I don't want to even think about any of this now.'That means he knows his Luna is dead,' Nia says, clearly not giving two shits that this conversation is making me want to puke all over again."Pretty girl, what is it?" I had completely forgotten Liam was still standing in the doorway, now looking at me like I was losing it.To be fair, I was."Zeak needs to sleep in bed with us." I want to leave it at that, as if it could possibly be that simple but I know it's not and it can't be.Liam starts laughing before looking at the serious expression on my face."What are you saying, Lucy?" He's rightfully confused by my statement."Zeak will heal better if he is next to me overnight," I say, praying he gets this enough to understand but doesn't pry."Why?" he asks, much to my dismay.I rub my hand down the front of my face, feeling everything I don't want to fe

Lucy:"Holy shit! Lucy, he has lost so much blood!" Liam's face is paling by the second.I'm freaking out like I haven't seen so much trauma in my life by now. This should be normal, right? This was my life, after all."Pick him up, babe. I'm right behind you. I have to go in last," I say, watching Liam hesitate. The thought of not having his eyes on me for even a single second makes him react slower than he normally would."Right behind me," he growls, picking Zeak's half-alive body into his arms and somehow still managing to grab my hand and rip me through the portal with him.The pull tore the oxygen from my lungs for a moment. I gasp, grabbing my throat as I tumble into the flat behind Liam."Aaagh," I groan, lying on my back as I continue to catch my breath.I whip my hand up into the air, closing the portal before rolling on my stomach and looking over at Liam and Zeak.Zeak was now lying, bloody, on top of Liam, who was staring at the ceiling, catching his breath as well. I ge

Lucy:"Maybe we should just keep going?" Liam asks; grabbing out a snack like this was just another adventure we were on.Maybe I was being too serious or too much of a stick in the mud not to relax and enjoy this more."Here," Liam says before I respond.I grab the granola bar from him and open it up. The smell of the caramel reminds me of Leon. My mind momentarily drifts off into other thoughts before Liam snaps his finger at me."Earth to Lucy... did you want to continue going this way?" he asks.Sadness had crept into my emotions. The memory of Savina lying bloody on the ground can't escape me, no matter how much I try."Maybe we should just go back to the flat and come back at sunrise. I wouldn't mind snuggling you on the couch and watching a movie. We haven't done anything that simple in a while. What do you say, pretty girl?" Liam says. He's tuned into my emotions. He won't ask what's wrong. He knows what few things it could be about, and none of them are things that I want to t

Lucy:"Let's start down this path?" I say, but it's more of a question. There was no method to my madness. There were three ways we could go, and none of them stood out to me as special or different in any way."This was the path I took when I was younger. I didn't find anything down that way, but I also didn't go very far. It seemed to lead to nowhere. The luminescent stones do get thicker the further down in that direction, though. I didn't need a flashlight at one point," Liam says, shrugging and agreeing with whatever I wanted to do."Okay. Let's try this one instead, then," I suggest pointing to the middle path.Liam smiles and begins to follow me, holding the flashlight outwards so that we can see better further ahead. The rocks were only bright enough to light up a foot or two in front of us, so this helped immensely."Look," I say, smiling and holding out my arm.The soft white light of my magic was racing through my veins, visibly through my skin. It felt alive and active, my

Seth:Talon seemed more relaxed. I wasn't getting a bad feeling from him; in fact, he seemed eager to share all of this knowledge with someone.Talon showed me a few books that I thought Lucy might like to look at. One was definitely Fae, not Old Magic.Talon easily handed over all the materials, and Delia had their assistant pack it up for me to take back to the pack. I would have just left to go back to our pack, but I had questions for Talon.Every part of me wanted to go home, but I knew we could get more information that might be useful. I need to make sure that Talon wasn't up to no good.Even though he was acting as if everything was normal, I had to be sure.Lucy's comment about Delia had also stayed with me.We were now sitting around the dining room table, eating dinner. The party was now more intimate.Only me, Talon, Delia, their Beta, Roy, and Gamma, Peter, along with their mates."Mmmm, this smells delicious, Delia," I comment as I plate the roasted chicken and vegetables

Leon:I'm starting to get aggravated with how calm and relaxed Sam is."No one found it weird that Kragen had a daughter who was 18 years old, and you were only just now finding out about it? She was the heir to his pack; this information should have been submitted when she was born," I say, narrowing my eyes at Sam, doing what I can to gauge his reaction."Yeah, I agree. It was odd, and normally, there would be repercussions for this, but now that Lucy is of age to make her own decisions and has chosen to be with her mates, we didn't feel like we should interfere more in that space. Kragen will have to have another child, or the pack will likely be handed down to one of the council members' children," Sam says calmly.'They just brush off the fact that Kragen has hidden his heir for 18 years?' B hisses."There has been some chatter or rumors, however, that has led some of the council to believe that Lucy is more than just a werewolf and could be a danger to our communities. The counci
