Ch.6- Gwen

After Lucian handed me the rest of the clothes I dress and he then lead me outside and we started off our journey back to their pack lands. Not knowing what reality awaited me I hoped I would have an opportune moment to try to escape. After the 2nd day of travel a few of the women prisoners did try to run and were whipped and chain with collars around their necks. I never saw Katie with the Alpha. And as much as I wanted to see Carly I knew her seeing me or vise versa would be to much of a shock in both of our new reality that was this. Once we arrived to the pack lands that were to be considered our new home. The place seemed doomed, darkness, sadness and despair could be felt the moment you walked down the main cobblestone street, houses looked like they were going to collapse in on themselves. Some of the pack came out of them and they looked just as miserable as their dwelling. Not saying a word some bowed to the Alpha Alexander but more out of fear than respect. When Lucian walked by they bowed even deeper until their heads snapped up and saw him with the chain and me being pulled along. Shock seemed to be the look but only before they remember to school their faces. Heading through the village less and less people come out of their houses as if they are just empty buildings. My worry on what kind of pack this really is settles in my stomach. Are people so miserable they just give up living and thriving here. My brain halts on the thought as we come upon a large White House. It sticks out sorely like it doesn’t belong here with these other house before it. The path is swept clean and flowers are lined up leading to the house. Everything before was dirty and over grown here it’s like this is the only space that’s taken care of. We stop before entering the steps to this house, which I’m assuming is the pack house. Alpha Alexander steps forward and glances at every one of us, when his eyes land on mine he smirks. I can feel the tightness Lucian is holding the chain around his fist. “Welcome to Ice Moon pack, you will be assigned jobs and presented with a possibility to see if you have a mate here in the pack, if not the warriors who have claimed you may still get to keep you. If you find yourself mateless or without a job you will find work in the pack house and under my care.” He says it like it’s an honor to be with him, but I know he means as his slave. I still haven’t seen Katie, I hope she’s ok. Alpha Alexander walks up the steps and into the pack house. As others follow I stay put as Lucian stands ahead of me addressing other warriors. “Connor I want you and Matteo to scout ahead, be invincible. Make sure no one sees you” Lucian says address the two warriors. “Connor head west and don’t cross the border of the pack but keep an eye out, Matteo you head east.” They both nod and leave. Lucian turns to me and walks past me pulling the chain to make me follow after him. Instead of going to the pack house he leads me further away outside of the village pack and a single story wooden cabin sits near a forested area. I immediately think I can run into those woods but then quickly reminded he would find me easily since I can’t shift yet. Knowing I’m gonna have to wait till I’m of age brings nausea to my stomach. What will happen to me in that much time with this pack. We walk inside and I take notice that the house is warm and bare, no pictures no homey touches, just basic necessities. No smell of any other wolf here. Lucian turns to me and unlocks the chains to my wrists and abdomen. It’s the first time I’ve felt a breath of relaxation since the chains went on. “You will stay here, at all times if I’m not here you do not answer the door or leave for any reason unless I give you orders.” He says, as he places the chains on the kitchen counter. I look around and then he turns to me again. “You are not a prisoner here, but I can’t let you go, you will stay here until it’s safe to travel.” My eyes widen, did he just say he’s going to free me? It must be a joke a hopeful claim to keep me from running, but why would he need to even give me hope. He must see the confusion on my face. He frowns for a second before he straightens himself and gives a long sigh. Let me show you the bedroom. My fear spikes the bedroom, his bedroom what happens when to me here. I hesitate until he turns and grabs me by the elbow and pulls me towards him and my legs start walking on their own. At the end of the other side of the kitchen a long hallway there are two doors to the right and one on the left. He walks up to the left door and opens it. “Bathroom, it’s got soap and shampoo and conditioner, but if you need anything else write it down and I’ll have it delivered.” I nod , because well what else am I suppose to do. The next door across from the bathroom is a bedroom with a small bed, definitely too small for his size and definitely too small for the two of us. Before I can say anything he steps into the room and with his size he manages to make the room even smaller. “When and if anyone comes over you will stay in this room the entire time.” He says as he stands next to a small dresser. I nod in understanding but I’m far from it. He rubs the back of his neck, “Well it’s been an exhausting week so I’ll let you get some rest.” With that he walks out of the room and closes the door. I do t hear a lock, so maybe he’s giving me more credit than I need since he knows he can out run me in a chase, for now I’ll bait my time, for now I’ll play the long game. I go and sit on the bed and notice two things, one the floor squeaks on the floor boards and two, I’m so tired the moment I drop into the bed my eyes close.
