Alpha Alexander of ice moon pack, looked at everyone chained and shackled, with a smirk and a crude laugh. “seems we have a good set here gents”. The men around him all laughed. He stepped closer and began looking more closely to all of us. “We’ll start with this one” he motions forward and grabs a girl a few years older her name is Katie. Katie just turned 18 a few months back. She found her mate within the pack and their ceremony of mate bond was to be this weekend. She now has pain for her lost mate since most men were all dead from our enemies standing before us. She screamed, “ No, please.” But the men all seem to laugh once more as they dragged her out of our group and into a near by tent. Most of the women around me tied with rope and hitched to a post like horses. I was the only exception. With chains and metal cuffs. Hearing more laughs, grunts and crying from the tent. Knowing Katie’s fate would be like the for the rest of us. Glancing around still trying to figure out who else is here. It’s just us the village is quieting down. The flames finishing off the final building left with mere piles of wood and brick crumbling. No children and no men, no boys. Just us girls as young as 13. Sam my neighbors Neice who lived on the other side of the village was only 13. She stayed huddled near Carly. The fear in their eyes as they hear Katie crying. A few moments later a man comes out of the tent fixing his clothes with a smile on his face and talks to the warriors guarding us. “Seems Alphas content on this one, take your pick and be prepared to leave at first light”. With a nod he walks off, and suddenly my chains are pulled almost pulling my arms out of my socket. My captor noting saying a word pulls me to follow. When I turn back I see warriors pushing and pulling arguing on who they get more warriors are joining in collecting women. I see Carly crying and arms out to me as if to say don’t go. But none of us are at a point of choosing now. I stop and stick my feet in the muddy cobblestone road to stop from moving with my captor. He feels the tight chain pull back and stops to turn toward me. He pulls again and I pull back again. His eyes are now a green color I can see and his face is domineering. He huffs and wraps the chain around his wrist and pulls hard and fast sending me straight down at his feet. He looks down at me with malice and it terrifies me. “Get up,” he says. With a force so hard I’m sure my shoulder dislocated he pulls me to him and drags me to a tent outside of the center and away from the warriors. Once inside he throws me to the makeshift bed and ties my chains to a large post. He grunts and throws his boots in a corner. He grabs a container and drinks water. Watching makes my throat dry and painful. I lick my lips as I watch the water droplets roll down his chin to his throat. He eyes me and I shift to the side as if I wasn’t just watching him. He steps towards me. “Open,” he says. I stay still ignoring him. He grabs my head and turns me to him looking into my eyes I struggle against him but he’s to strong. I’m still covered in dirt and mud. He takes a drink of his water opens my mouth and spits it into my face and mouth. I spit the water from my mouth out and cough. The dirt now runs down my face as I try to open my eyes. He grabs a cloth from the rack and rubs my face wiping the dirt and mud. He still has me his hand while wiping my face clean. While starting into my eyes a warrior opens the tent and calls to him. “Sir, Alpha request your presence right away”. He nods his head in acknowledgment and the warrior leaves. He lets go of my head and turns back to leave without a word to me. He puts his boots back on and leaves. The metal cuffs have broken my skin my should hurts terribly and the chain has been locked into the post. I can’t escape, I’m locked and now a prisoner. I need to get these off and escape. I will escape. I sit on the floor with my head on the makeshift bed and my eyes close for a minute. I feel the heaviness for the world and my fears finally pull me in. My mother is dead, my father also. What happened to the twins? Did anyone escape successfully? Where did they go and will they come back to help us. My mind keeps going as my body slumps and finally gives out. What will happen and who is this man, he seemed to not want me to be chosen by anyone other than him. Am I just his trophy since he worked so hard tracking me and mom down. I’m forced again to remember my mother’s dead form. A tear falls down my face and I wipe it away not wanting to show anyone my tears, not now not ever. Sleep pulls me in and as uncomfortable my arms are I close y eyes and give in.
With my head down and sitting on my knees I front of Alpha Alexander I don’t speak. The pack warrior who carried me out of the house, pulls me by the hair and forces me to look at Alexander. The pain in my scalp is enough to have tears leak from my eyes but I hold them back. Alexander bends down so he’s face to face with me. “Where is Lucian”? He asks. With my hands holding on to the warrior who is still holding my head up by my hair. Alexander grabs my face with bruising force. My jaw feels like it will break and I’m stuck between both these men. “Tell me where he is and I won’t kill you”. With a small shake of my head, “I don’t know, I haven’t seen him since last night”. Alexander smirks, “Just long enough to pleasure him then he’s gone. Lucian always did run away and leave his so called loved one’s behind.” Just then a loud crash and screaming is heard from the house behind me I don’t need to turn around to know it’s Lucy inside. My heart aches for her. No sooner does Alexander let
I didn’t see Lucian the rest of the night and although I slept I had that same feeling the night of my village being raided. Uneasiness and worry rocked my ever waking thought. I worried about Lucian about Lucy and her mate. They weren’t my pack but they showed me kindness and safety. Pulling my blankets over my head I let out a huff and forced my eyes closed to shut out the continued thoughts running rampant. If I need to run I will, and I’ll make sure I get farther now that Lucian was training me about these woods. Although what good would that do if the woods he captured me in was my own backyard, woods that I played in and explored countless of times. Fear started to ebb and the thought of someone besides Lucian having captured me and god knows what would have actually happened to. With the sun rising I decide to get up and get the day started, after a shower and change in another pair of clothes Lucy had given me. I head into the kitchen and begin to boil water for tea. It’s qu
On the twelfth day Lucy’s mate Griffin shows back up to the house only he’s not alone. Worry etched on Lucian’s face along with a look of anger. “Alpha, Matteo has returned with news of the borders. Matteo the warrior I saw Lucian talking to before heading to his cabin when we first arrived, walks forward and bows. “My Alpha, the packs from the south and east have gathered heading our way.” Matteo says while head still bowed. Lucian stands and addresses Matteo and Griffin. “How many?” “At least over a thousand, and that’s just the top warriors and scouts it could be more”. Lucian walks toward the table and turns as if decided he’s changed his mind about sitting. “What about Connor”? He asks looking to Matteo. “Connor, hasn’t returned from his scouting if there are more packs alliances he could have been caught.” Griffin then speaks up, “ my alpha, you need to see if Alexander will put his pride aside come to reason, We should have never stepped foot in starlight.” Lucian growls to sto
My legs are in fire my body is screaming carrying this pack. At this point he’s gonna have to drag me the rest of the way, cause I’m about to give up. I let out a whine in the back of my throat for how uncomfortable I am and he stops to look over his shoulder. “Not much farther”, he says and continues to walk ahead of me. I tried to in loosen the rope a little before we jump the river, but I couldn’t get it loose enough and whenever I pulled on the rope he would turn back. Now the rope is taught between us. The more he pushes forward I drop back and he ends up dragging me forward. “ You said that 20 minutes ago”, I protest when my feet start to drag. “Keep moving kiddo” I feel like throwing up, my father and uncles called me that, they are all dead now. “Don’t call me that” I say pulling the rope towards me with my hand to get his attention. “Why you don’t like it”? He stops to turn back and look at me. “My family called me that, you are not my family.” He walks close to me and there’
I slept all night, not sure if I was emotionally exhausted or just exhausted I didn’t dream anything. It was like my brain was tired it could process any information to give me nightmares or dreams. Like the night just disappeared. One minute I was eating and feeling overwhelmed and the next I’m waking up to the sun barely showing over the horizon. It’s early I know that cause there’s still darkness outside. Just as I shift my body to a long stretch a knock sounds at my door. I sit up with the bed immediately making a squeak noise. I step towards the door and open it a little and see Lucian in what seems like sweat pants and a T-shirt. It’s the most casual I’ve ever seen him. “Morning, I have food ready once you eat you can change and we can head out”. He says almost like a request but more so an order. I nod and follow him to the kitchen again. On the table this time is eggs, bacon and sausage and potatoes and a glass of cranberry juice, and what seems to be grape juice maybe. The fo
I jolt awake when I hear a sound of a loud bang almost like someone is breaking the door down. I scrambled towards the door my feet making loud movements. Guess I’m gonna have to get use to moving slower so I don’t make so much noise, I hesitate at the door and contemplate opening it. He did say in here if someone was here in the house. I hesitate for just a moment more when I hear a growl and a loud bang. I open the door and walk into the kitchen. I see two large warriors and none other than Alpha Alexander. Lucian is standing behind the couch and when he sees me he calmly walk s to my side. “Well seems as you all have gotten comfortable”. Alexander says with a smirk. I keep my head down not answering just like Lucian requested. Lucian shifts closer to me and places his large hand on the back of my neck and leans into me. “Go back to our room and sit on the floor and wait for me to come get you when I need you.” He says loud enough for Alexander to hear. I nod and step back towards th
