Chapter 10

I woke up in the middle of the night to the sound of something rustling outside my window. My senses were on high alert, and my heart was racing as I tried to identify the source of the noise. That's when I saw it- a shadowy figure lurking just outside the glass.

Instinct took over, and I felt the transformation begin. My muscles contracted and expanded, and I felt my bones shifting and reshaping. My skin itched and burned as my fur sprouted, and my jaw elongated as my teeth sharpened.

Within seconds, I had shifted completely into my black alpha wolf form. I felt my heightened senses kick in, my sense of smell and hearing becoming more acute. My vision changed as well, and everything took on a blue hue.

I padded silently over to the window, my claws clicking softly on the floor. The shadowy figure outside was still there, but I could now see it more clearly. It was a person, standing just beyond the reach of the porch light.

I growled low in my throat, warning the intruder to leave. But they didn't move, and I felt my hackles rising in response. With a fierce snarl, I leaped through the window and onto the grass below, ready to defend my territory at any cost.

I couldn't believe what just happened. A wolf outside my window, in my territory? I had to act fast. I shifted into my black alpha wolf form and chased after the intruder. The chase was long and brutal, and as we got closer to the forest, I noticed another wolf intercepting from the side. It was Damon, my Beta, and I breathed a sigh of relief.

Together, we fought fiercely against the intruder. He was quick and agile, but Damon and I were no slouches either. We were determined to protect our territory and our pack at all costs. However, the intruder was strong and cunning, and he managed to escape despite our efforts.

As I shifted back into my human form, I couldn't help but feel a mix of emotions. Anger, frustration, and a hint of fear. Who was that wolf? And why did he dare to come into our territory uninvited? I knew I needed to find out more and take action if necessary.

I knew I had to be careful and tread lightly, but one thing was for sure - I would do whatever it takes to protect my pack and the woman I had grown to care about.

Damon and I were breathing heavily as we regrouped near the edge of the forest. I could feel the adrenaline coursing through my veins and my heart was pounding in my chest. "Who was that?" I asked Damon, trying to catch my breath.

"I don't know," he replied, shaking his head. "But he was definitely not from our pack. He smelled different like he's from a pack I've never encountered before."

I nodded thoughtfully. "We need to find out who he is and what he's doing here. Keep an eye out for any suspicious activity around the area. We can't afford to have any outsiders causing trouble."

Damon nodded in agreement, his eyes scanning the area for any signs of the strange wolf. "We'll keep watch, Alpha. You should get some rest. You've had a long day."

I nodded, feeling the exhaustion finally catching up to me. "You're right. Let's head back to the mansion. We'll continue our search tomorrow."

As we made our way back to the mansion, Damon and I chatted about the recent events and what our next steps should be. He was always a reliable and loyal beta, and I trusted him with my life.

Once we reached the mansion, I thanked Damon for his help, I bid him goodnight and headed to my room and we went back to the mansion. As I lay in bed, still shaken from the encounter, I couldn't help but think about the implications of this event. Were there more wolves out there who posed a threat to my pack? And when was the right time to tell Raini about my true nature as a wolf?

As I lay in bed, I couldn't help but wonder who that strange wolf was and what his intentions were. I knew we had to find out soon before it was too late.

But for now, I needed to rest and regain my strength. Tomorrow would be another long day.

I made my way down the stairs, my mind still reeling from last night's events. As I walked into the dining room, I saw Raini sitting at the table with a frown on her face.

"Good morning, Raini," I said, trying to sound cheerful.

"Good morning," she replied, still looking grumpy.

I could tell she wasn't in a good mood, and I wondered if it had anything to do with the events of last night. I decided to ask her about it.

"Is everything okay?" I asked, taking a seat across from her.

"No, not really," she replied, rubbing her eyes. "I couldn't sleep last night because of all the howling and barking outside."

My heart sank as I realized that she had heard our wolf forms last night. I couldn't let her know that she was in any danger, so I lied.

"Oh, that's strange. I haven't heard anything like that around here before," I said, trying to sound convincing.

She looked at me skeptically, but thankfully didn't push the issue.

"Well, I must have just been hearing things, then," she said, letting out a sigh.

I felt guilty for lying to her, but I knew it was for her own safety. We continued with our breakfast, making small talk about various topics. However, the guilt was eating away at me, and I knew I had to tell her the truth eventually.

After breakfast with Raini, I reached out to Damon and instructed him to find the wolf at all costs,  I can't keep lying to Raini. Write in Zavier's first-person point of view with long dialogue.

I walked into my study and picked up the phone to call Damon. He answered on the second ring.

"Hey, boss," Damon greeted me.

"Damon, I need you to do something for me," I said.

"Anything, boss. What's up?"

"I need you to find that wolf that was on the property last night."

There was a brief pause on the other end of the line before Damon spoke again. "You mean the rogue wolf?"

"Yes, that one. I need you to track it down and bring it back to me. I can't keep lying to Raini about what's going on."

Damon sighed heavily. "Boss, you know how dangerous it is to track down a rogue wolf. And what if it's not alone?"

"I understand the risks, Damon. But I can't let this go on. I need to protect Raini and my pack."

"I'll start tracking it down right away, boss," Damon said, with a sense of determination in his voice. "We'll catch it, I promise."

"Thank you, Damon. Be careful out there," I said before hanging up the phone.

I sat at my desk, deep in thought, wondering what the rogue wolf was doing on my property. It couldn't be a coincidence. Was someone trying to send a message? Or was it just a coincidence? I needed to find out.

As I sat there lost in thought, I heard a knock on my study door. "Come in," I called out.

Raini walked in, looking stunning as always.
