After leaving the hospital, Ley led the two in a hotel and booked them each a fairly expensive room. However, none of them were really that tired. Earlier, the old man said he was, but now, his eyes were even brighter and more awake than the other two. In the end, Hana and Fernando stayed in Ley’s and chatted about how they passed the previous days.
Ley did not join them as he opened his laptop and searched about similar accidents around the city.
He browsed for half an hour.
...Ley looked behind them through the rearview mirror. But despite evading danger, his face was icy cold from thinking that their rented car almost suffered the same fate as the tour bus. Wasn’t it all ridiculous? Considering their identities? ‘There are three Anitos in this vehicle, yet those little creatures still dared to cross them. This only verified one thing.’
...“Their society is divided into three classes based on wealth traditionally defined in terms of rice land, water buffalo and slaves.”“The natives believe that illnesses are caused by deities taking souls in cooperation with ancestors. Priests treat illnesses through divination and curing rituals in an effort to get the deity to return the souls. If the priests fail, the tribe members believe, the person dies.”
...Hours passed and those who set off for the capital arrived at home just an hour after sunrise. Hana had a class to attend in less than one and a half hours. There was no time to rest at all. She had to take a shower then change into her uniform and then eat, all in an hour, just so she would not be late. Thankfully, she was no normal girl so the lack of sleep did not faze her at all and she was able to finish the task on time. Sam drove her to her new school.
...How about we eat fast later and then we will show you around?”The idea that came from Charlotte caused Hana’s eyes turned into beautiful crescents. She happily nodded, “Sure.”
...What chilled Hana’s blood and made her facial expression cold was that when she reported the matter to the homeroom teacher of the Year 2 student Anita, the girl from earlier, the bastards had actually moved faster than them and told the teacher about her violent accomplishments.“So you’re saying I should be the one to apologize because I used violence against them?”The principal happened to leave for a meeting with the district educational supervisor. H
...A day passed. There was no more contact with Ley after that one on lunch break. Hana attended next day’s class as well and the moment she stepped into the gate, she immediately saw that her entrance was getting more attention that the previous day. “She’s the one who made Patrick’s group apologized to a nobody from Year 2, right?”“Yeah, a gutsy transferee.”Hana heard these words as she walked towards her room. The main building was more than thirty meters away from the main gate and the building for senior students was on its left, past the basketball court. The long walk made her go through being the subject of gossips. Most of the talk were sympathetic. It seemed that Patrick was known for his delinquency yet people did not dare cross him often due to his background. So because she dared, people were now waiting for her to get some punishment or see whether she would go through some misfortune? Time passed, and the class went on like normal. “Alicia, are you going to be o
...Because Hana did not publicize and the five guys were all admitted to the hospital by their parents to make the matter appear bigger than it was supposed to be, no students were clear about why Hana beat them up. The homeroom adviser called Miss Julietta did not want to go against the principal’s order too. Sadly, not because she final
...Hours passed and all classes in the school ended. Hana and the principal waited at the entrance for a certain student to pass by. Others who saw the two talking like a pair of grandmother and granddaughter could not help but gawk at them. They were very surprised, to the point that they missed out on another shocking detail. It was the principal’s first time appearing before the students this school year, yet she was standing! Standing near the gate!
