EVELYNE'S POV

I just have to keep playing along with him until I've got solid evidence that he is actually connected to the Organization, I thought to myself as I stared down at the garden right behind the hospital.

I stroked my temple as I felt a migraine coming on.

There was no doubt my soul was having a hard time getting used to Rosetta's weak frame; hence, the sudden blackout.

“You're slacking off, Eve,” I mumbled while I tried to analyze everything I remembered from that day.

That man was obviously someone who knew Williams. No one had access to the VIP lounge; only people who were authorized to come see the man of the hour.

“I wonder what secret you're hiding.” A strange glint flashed through my eyes, too quickly for anyone to notice, as I came up with a plan.

I turned around, went back to my bed, and carefully picked up Mia's laptop.

I just needed to know the keys she'd clicked on. To find out, I raised it closer and carefully stared at the keyboard for prints. In no time, I found her password, quickly entered it, and gained access to her computer.

“Let's see if there's anything here,” I mumbled while moving my fingers across her keyboard. I searched through the laptop, and strangely enough, it was squeaky clean. But of course, I knew what to do next.

I instantly turned her laptop into a "zombie" by installing malware that granted me access to everything on it.

I could sense her getting closer, so I immediately switched it off and placed it back where it was.

I wore a smile on my face as I waited for her to open the door. Shortly after, she walked in with brown paper bags.

“I'm sorry I took so long; I had to deal with something urgently,” she explained as she gently placed them on the coffee table.

“It's fine. I wasn't really bored,” I said as I kept staring at her tablet.

She'd left with her tablet and mobile phone earlier.

“Oh, okay. I got you all greens. I spoke with your nutritionist, and he advised you to eat more vegetables,” she explained as she took out the vegetable salad. However, there was one problem.

I hated vegetables, but I forced a smile.

It seemed like I would have to deal with this for a while.

“When can I leave? I hate it here,” I said with a frown, and she chuckled softly.

“You'll be discharged today, okay?” she assured me, and I smiled.

“Would you like me to call someone from the Glenn family?”

“Nah, I'm good. Thanks for the meal, by the way.” She seemed really good to Rosetta, but unfortunately, I wasn't going to fall for all that sweetness.

A few hours later, I was taken back to the mansion. While I was back at the hospital, nobody dared to visit.

“It seems like we'll have to take care of your own problems first, Rossie,” I mumbled while taking a shower, staring at my reflection.

I was getting fed up with those pesky insects trying to act all nice when they literally tried to kill me.

The Organization has always been "an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth."

“Are you okay in there?” I heard Mia's voice calling out to me.

“I'll be out soon!” I yelled back.

I always enjoyed staying under the shower for a long time to get rid of the death stench that followed me after killing a target.

It had been weeks since my last kill, and of course, I felt my soul trying to suppress the urge to kill someone.

Rosetta's body was something I would need to work on, or else I wouldn't last long.

After taking my time in the shower, I came out draped in a bathrobe with a towel wrapped around my extremely long hair.

“You were in there for so long; I was worried something had happened to you,” Mia said, and I chuckled softly.

“Of course not. I usually take my time in the shower,” I explained as I gently rubbed my hair with the towel.

“I guess I'll leave you alone to rest up, okay? I'm going to drag my brother here if I have to,” she assured me, smiling mischievously.

I guess I would have to keep my enemies closer.

“Thank you so much, Mia. You're the best.” I decided to act frail, like Rosie would, and hugged her.

“You're my friend, and Mr. Snappy Pants is my brother, so it's only natural I get you two together.” She exaggerated, and I picked up on a point.

The marriage wasn't just an alliance to save Mr. Glenn’s company. There was something else.

The Carter family was a family of the most powerful and influential people. It wasn't easy to be the daughter-in-law of that family. I was certain there was something else, and I couldn't seem to remember no matter how hard I tried.

It wasn't in her memory.

Once Mia had left, I crouched down by the queen-sized bed and took out my laptop, which was attached to the bed frame.

I was going to call Mr. Glenn to get a new desk, a computer, and two monitors.

I sat down with my legs crossed as I logged in immediately.

“Let's find out why you're being adored by the Carters.” I bit my fingernail before doing some digging, and then I came across Williams's early life.

The Elites: a school for the rich.

Rosetta also attended the same school. I tried to remember, but I couldn't access some of her memories.

While staring at the pictures of the school, my eyes caught something familiar.

I zoomed in to get a better look, and sure enough, it was a symbol consisting of a snake wrapped around an Excalibur buried deep inside an eagle.

“The Organization,” I mumbled as I trailed my fingers across the screen.

The symbol was a representation of the Organization.

It seemed the Organization ran way deeper than I thought.

Williams and Rosetta attended The Elites, and that was when she'd developed a crush on him.

“Let's see,” I whispered as I began digging for more. Sure enough, I found another interesting search.

“Three siblings?” I muttered out loud.

The Carter family had three children.

I frowned upon realizing that it was starting to get more complicated—and interesting.

There wasn't a single article on the third sibling. I couldn't find a single image of him even when I did a reverse image search.

Someone did a clean job hiding the identity of the third sibling. I couldn't help but wonder if he was dead.

Something was definitely fishy, and I knew all my suspicions were pointing to Williams.

It was without a doubt a piece of the puzzle.

I hated being challenged, and I decided to keep trying to open the encrypted files. Unfortunately, whoever did this sure did a great job at hiding everything.

I hacked into Mr. Carter's computer, but as soon as I got in, the other party caught a whiff of my movement. They tried to track me, so I had to pull out before I was exposed.

I shut the laptop angrily and shoved it aside.

He was using the Lockwell firewall to protect his company from hackers.

I was infuriated and felt defeated for the very first time.

A knock landed on the door, snapping me out of my thoughts.

“Young Miss, your father wants to have a word with you,” a female servant announced before walking away, and I rolled my eyes.

I stood up and changed into rugged baggy jeans and a tank top. I tied my hair up because I hated long hair.

I had just stepped out of the room and walked through the hallway when Ivy launched an attack at me. I effortlessly saw through her cheap tricks and moved backward.

She looked like a zombie who hadn't slept for days, and of course, she'd probably cried so much her eyes had changed.

“What's this now?” I asked with an irritated tone.

“I saw him first. He's mine, and I will never let you take him away from me!” she said in a hoarse voice while holding a pair of scissors, thinking it was going to scare me.

“Sometimes I wonder what goes on in that thick skull of yours... I'm busy and can't play with you right now, shoo.” I pushed her out of my way and was about to walk away when she tried to grab hold of my hair.

I suddenly caught her wrist and threw her roughly to the floor, making her groan in pain.

I pinned her hands behind her back with one hand while I covered her mouth with the other to muffle her screams.

“Attacking from behind was a cheap move,” I whispered while she kept groaning in pain as I tightened my grip.

“At first, I thought I had nothing to do with him, but you know what? I changed my mind. I'm taking him away, Sis.”

WILLIAMS' POV “She's taking too long.” I frowned upon realizing that it had been a couple of minutes since she left for the bathroom. “I'll check it out,” Connor said as he headed for the door, and I was left alone. The auction was about to start, and they were only allowed to bid through an app called ‘The Watcher,’ an app I personally designed. “Everything is in place, Boss. Waiting for your orders,” a voice spoke through the earbuds. “You can...” My words were cut off when Connor hurried back to the lounge. “There's been a situation in the bathroom,” he explained. From his eyes, I knew things had gone wrong, so I stood up and headed out of the lounge. I went straight to the bathroom and found her lying lifeless on the cold floor. “Seal off every entrance of the building right now!” I announced as I gently placed my fingers on her neck to feel her pulse before picking her off the floor, carefully carrying her bridal-style. “Make sure no one breathes a word about

EVELYN’S POV “She is my fiancée, Miss Glenn,” he introduced courtly. The bald man looked at him with a surprised expression before glancing over at me with a bright smile. I reciprocated, flashing a charming grin, and I could feel Williams' arm tighten around my waist, his grip bordering on painful. “Nice to meet you, beautiful Miss Glenn.” Alan stretched out his hand for a handshake. Before I could lift my hand, Williams intercepted. He grabbed Alan’s hand in a crushing grip, embarrassing the man instantly. I resisted the urge to laugh at the display of territorial dominance. I took a sip from my glass of red wine, staring coquettishly at the bald man over the rim. Alan smiled nervously, clearly sensing the danger radiating from my "fiancé." “Nice to meet you too, Mr...?” “Alan. Call me Alan,” he responded immediately. I nodded with a polite smile. “Would you excuse us for a moment?” Williams spoke. His voice was calm, but it was laced with a cold, underlying ange

EVELYN’S POV I looked at her with a look of pure disgust. “You tried to kill me, and you think you can get away with it?” I raised an eyebrow. Her eyes flickered with panic as she stared at her mother for help. “What are you talking about, Rosie? Ivy is your sister. You shouldn't say such things just because you're mad,” her mother said. Even though she was trying to sound like a loving parent, I could see right through her facade. It disgusted me. “Oh, stop with the pretense. It's starting to bore me,” I spoke nonchalantly. I turned my attention to setting up my new cellphone, but a message popped up on the screen that made me frown. “You don't talk to your mother like that!” the woman screeched. “You're not my mother! Get the hell out of my face!” I barked angrily. My voice was laced with a killing intent they had never heard before. They flinched backward in fear, realizing for the first time that the docile Rosetta was gone. Terrified, they rushed out of the ro

I had only known him for a few minutes, and he was already driving me crazy.“I'm quite sure you haven't gone deaf,” he muttered without sparing me a glance.“Just who the hell do you think you are?” I felt like punching him in the face.“You wanted to marry me badly, remember?” He scoffed nonchalantly.I felt my anger rising rapidly. I took deep breaths to calm down.“Well, I'm not interested in getting married to a stupid narcissist,” I said bluntly. His hands seemed to freeze mid-air over his tablet. I could feel the coldness emanating from his body, and for the first time ever, I felt intimidated.“Stop the car,” he commanded. The car came to a halt immediately. He finally raised his head to look at me.“Get out,” he spoke calmly.I didn't move an inch. “Are you asking me to get out of your car?” I asked, wanting to be sure I heard right.“Get out!” he barked.I flinched backward and immediately got out of the car.“I'm sur
