I am so stupid. How could I have let myself be caught off guard? If it hadn’t been for Jaxon, I’d be dead by now. Ace cuddles close to my chest and whines. Jaxon has been quiet since we left the club. I think he’s mad at me, and I don’t blame him. I should have been more careful.
I hate to say it, but I’m glad that Victor is dead. He was like a dark cloud hanging over us, and now we don’t have to worry about him anymore.
