Amanda's POV

The rest of the day went by in a breeze. History class was boring, as usual. Chloe, who was beside me, shot me a bored expression. I glanced at her, sympathetically, I hoped. Although we weren't very close in class, she was still one of the few friends I had apart from Layla and Alex.

When Ms. Raymond was still droning on and on about our recent graded assignment where half the class attained a failing mark, Chloe took out a pack of sticky notes. I noticed this at the corner of my eye and smiled.

"Your class is the worst I've taught. Don't you need to reflect on yourself!" Ms Raymond's voice boomed. I've never really studied her closely, but I always felt like she resembled a big grizzly bear, with a stout stature and a roaring voice that rocked tables. Her eyes were artificially concealed in colored contact lens, usually big and black ones. She wasn't ugly, but just ordinary looking.
