Athena’s POV

A powerful voice faint but familiar. I couldn’t place it, but it cut through the haze of pain. “Is the person alive?” the voice asked, calm yet commanding.

I tried to lift my head. Through the blur of blood and darkness, the lady approached and stopped before me. My vision was fuzzy, but the authority in her presence made my heart skip.

“Your majesty… she is a rogue,” the woman said, her voice steady.

Rogue? My head snapped up slowly. I couldn’t see her face clearly, but I knew she

Athena“He likes his space neat at all times,” Janice said as she walked ahead of me, explaining my new duties. “So you will have to clean often, especially his office.”I listened quietly, keeping my expression neutral.“You can clean his room once, or at most twice a day,” she continued. “But his office is different. You may be called there several times, depending on his schedule.”I almost asked what exactly went on in that office that required so much cleaning, isn’t it just meetings and paperwork or is there something more but I held my tongue. This wasn’t the place to ask unnecessary questions.“He does not like anyone touching his personal belongings,” Janice added, stopping to face me. Her tone turned serious. “You go in, do your work, and leave. Nothing more.”I nodded. “If you are caught going through his things,” she went on, “you will be treated as a spy. And if that happens, there will be no saving you.”A small chill ran down my spine, but I kept my face calm. “No steal

Azrael“Your Majesty, you are here.”Marcus’s voice cut through the moment I was sharing with Athena. Before I could respond or even turn toward him, he had already stepped back into the room he came from out from.My attention returned to Athena, she had gone completely still. Her eyes widened, and she quickly turned to look behind her, as if trying to confirm what she had just heard. But Marcus was already gone.“Are you alright?” I asked, watching her closely.“I’m fine,” she said after a second, though there was still confusion in her expression. “I thought it was the doctor attending to Doris.”She lowered her head slightly. “Goodnight, Sire.” I nodded, even though I wasn’t ready for her to leave.“Take care of your neck,” I added. She gave a small nod in response, I stepped aside to let her pass. As she moved past me, her body brushed lightly against mine. The contact was brief, almost nothing yet it sent a strange spark through me. Something I couldn’t explain.I watched her wa

Athena“Is she okay, doctor?” Talia asked, her voice trembling as she stepped forward. The doctor had been moving in and out of the ward for a while now, his expression serious each time he passed. We had been waiting for what felt like forever, holding onto the little hope we had. They told us Doris had gone into forced labour because of the stress, I already knew that wasn’t a good sign. The doctor stopped in front of us, his face softening slightly. “She’s stable now,” he said. For a brief second, relief flickered in Talia’s eyes. Then he continued. “But we lost the pup. I’m sorry.”Talia’s hand flew to her mouth, cutting off the scream that tried to escape. She staggered back, her body shaking. I caught her quickly, holding her steady as tears poured down her face.My chest felt tight, anger and grief mixing into something heavy. “Can we see her?” I asked, turning back to the doctor. He shook his head gently. “She doesn’t want to see anyone right now.” With that, he walked away, l

Athena“Come in.” The voice came from inside before I even had the chance to knock.I pushed the door open slowly and stepped into the Gamma’s office, the room was quiet. My eyes moved around, searching, but there was no one in sight. For a moment, I hesitated just inside the doorway. Someone had clearly spoken, yet the office looked completely empty. Maybe she had stepped into another room or the bathroom.I stayed where I was, waiting, with nothing else to do, my gaze wandered around the office, it was impressive. Every detail spoke of wealth and power. The desk was polished to perfection, the carpet soft and rich beneath my feet, and the walls were decorated with expensive-looking artwork. Even the couch looked like something meant for royalty.Compared to this, the general’s office back at Crescent Moon felt plain. I took a few more steps inside, still alert despite the calm atmosphere. Then I felt a faint movement behind me, my body went still. Someone was there, they had been

AthenaMy heart skipped the moment I stepped into the king’s office, he sat behind his desk with quiet authority, his presence filling the entire room. There was something overwhelming about him, something that made it hard to breathe properly.Standing in front of him was a striking blonde woman, her posture straight and confident. The moment she noticed me walking in behind Beta Gabriel, her expression changed. A deep frown settled on her face. “Who is she?” she demanded sharply. “And what is she doing here?”Gabriel didn’t hesitate. “That’s the same question I came to ask,” he said as he moved to stand beside her.Throughout all of this, the king didn’t look at either of them. His eyes were fixed on me.The intensity of his gaze made my chest tighten. It felt like he could see straight through me, like he was reaching into parts of me I didn’t want anyone to touch. The memory of what had happened earlier came rushing back, and heat crept up my neck. Unable to hold his gaze any long

Athena“You will be in charge of cleaning the king’s office and room.”The words stayed in my head long after the palace patron walked away. I didn’t know how to feel about it. Before meeting the king, I would have been thrilled—angry at the workload, maybe, but happy because it would make my mission easier and faster. But now, everything feels different.Ever since that moment in the hall earlier, something had shifted. The way my body reacted to him, the strange pull I couldn’t explain, it unsettled me more than I wanted to admit. Why would he assign me to his private space so quickly? The question followed me as I made my way through the palace corridors. The patron had clearly said my duties would begin the next day, but waiting didn’t feel like an option, I needed answers. When I got to the king’s door, two guards stood on either side, tall and intimidating. Their expressions alone were enough to make most people turn back.Still, I stepped forward. “I am here to see the king,”
