Athena’s POV

One year later

“Today is the day you die, Athena,” Zoey snarled, circling me with a predator’s grace. “I have been waiting for this moment since the day we met.”

“I am still standing, Zoey,” I shot back, muscles coiled, eyes locked on hers. “And I’m not going down without a fight.”

The crowd erupted as we lunged at each other, the clash of claws and teeth echoing across the Arena. Sparks of energy flared when we collided, both of us straining every ounce of strength.

AzraelThe moment she slipped, my body moved before my mind could catch up. One second, she was reaching—balanced on her toes, fragile and unaware. The next, she was falling and I was already there.A sharp, electric jolt shot through my body the moment our bodies connected and I know she could feel it too. It was intense, raw and unfamiliar in a way that made my grip tighten without thought.I stilled, her back pressed against my chest, her body fitting too easily against mine. My hand remained firm around her waist, holding her steady, but I didn’t let go.“Careful.” I whispered in her ears and her body shivered. “Or you will injure yourself.”Something about her pulled at me in a way I couldn’t explain. It wasn’t just physical, my soul connected with her right from the moment I saw her, I couldn't explain this feeling but it felt like I had seen those eyes before. My gaze dropped to her neck without thinking, I leaned in. I inhaled, her scent filled my senses, and my breath caugh

Athena“What did the king discuss with you?” Zoey’s voice came the moment I stepped into the room. The door hadn’t even fully closed behind me before she was already watching me, her eyes sharp with curiosity. It was just the two of us inside; Talia and the other girl we share the room with weren’t back yet.I dropped my things slowly, the truth was nothing had happened. The entire ride back, he hadn’t said a single word to me, I sat there, my thoughts running wild, trying to guess what he wanted and why he had singled me out like that.“It was just an excuse to get away from your talkative friend, her presence irritate me.” That was all he said before I stepped out of the car.I almost laughed thinking about it. “Surprisingly, nothing,” I said, shaking my head as I turned to face her. “He didn’t say anything.”I wasn’t about to tell her what he actually said, her eyes narrowed slightly.“Nothing, huh?” she repeated, taking a step closer. “That’s not what it looked like. The way yo

  • The Banished Mate Of The Lycan King   Chapter 16

AthenaWe drove in silence, Zoey had eventually pleaded her way into coming along, and now she sat in the front seat beside the king while I sat at the back, leaning slightly against the window, letting my gaze drift outside. The kingdom stretched endlessly before me. Wide roads, towering structures, and estates that spoke of wealth and power. Everything was polished, guarded, controlled. I wondered how rich the king is because this is a fucking fortress.“So beautiful and breathtaking, this is the most beautiful place I have seen all my life.” Zoey said, her voice filled with admiration. The king didn’t respond, She smiled anyway, brushing a strand of hair behind her ear. “I mean, the architecture, the structure, it says a lot about your leadership.”“You must have put a lot of work into building all of this,” she tried again, her tone lighter this time.Still nothing, he didn’t even spare her a glance. His eyes remained fixed on the road, hands steady on the wheel.I shook my head

  • The Banished Mate Of The Lycan King   Chapter 15

Athena’s POVDid Zoey do this?I quickly stepped out of the hall, scanning the palace corridors for Zoey. My eyes landed on her a few steps ahead, laughing lightly, her energy unbothered by the chaos happening in the palace. She was standing beside Talia, who was grinning broadly.I froze for a moment. Since when had Talia, who had hated us back in Black Ridge, suddenly decided to befriend Zoey?I walked toward them, “Wolfless,” Talia called, smirking, “done arranging flowers yet?”I stopped a few feet away, my gaze sharp. “At least going from combat teacher to arranging flowers is something useful,” I said, my voice cold but measured. “How about you? From Luna to a common maid, how’s that treating you?”Talia opened her mouth, probably to retort, but I didn’t give her the chance. I turned my attention to Zoey. “We need to talk,” I said firmly. Without waiting for her reply, I grabbed her arm and started dragging her down the corridor.“Hey! Athena—wait—” Zoey protested, but I didn’t

Azrael’s POVI hurried after Varek as he stepped out of the emergency unit. “How is she doing now?” I asked, my voice tight with worry.Varek hesitated, glancing at me before speaking. “Your Majesty, she is stable but the poison affected her brain and reduced oxygen supply—”I snapped, cutting him off. “Save me the bullshit explanation. I’m not asking for a lecture. Is she alive or not?”Varek swallowed hard. “She is alive… barely,” he said, voice tight. “Your Majesty, she has slipped into a coma. The toxins caused cerebral hypoxia, her brain wasn't getting enough oxygen and combined with the internal bleeding, her body shut down as a protective measure. She’s still fighting but her condition is critical.”I clenched my fists, heart hammering. “And there’s nothing more you can do right now?”Varek shook his head slowly. “We are doing everything possible but any sudden movement or stress could tip her over the edge.”I asked, my voice tight, “How long before she wakes?”Doctor Varek sh

  • The Banished Mate Of The Lycan King   Chapter 13

Athena’s POVIt had been over a week since we were brought to the palace. In that time, everyone had been assigned duties, each person placed where they were considered useful. As for me, I couldn’t decide if fate was helping me or mocking me. Out of all the tasks in the palace, I was given the most insignificant one—arranging flowers. I spent my days holding petals and stems, making sure they looked pretty in glass vases instead of gathering information about where the scroll is kept, It was frustrating.Zoey, on the other hand, had been placed in the kitchen. She had access to servants, guards, and overheard conversations. She was exactly where we needed someone to be. And me? I was stuck in quiet hallways.Still, I refused to waste the opportunity, I stood in one of the smaller halls, a bundle of fresh white lilies in my hands. Slowly, I arranged them inside a tall vase, adjusting each stem carefully. My movements were calm but my attention was far from the flowers. My eyes moved
