Chapter 26: Hide And Seek

"We need a room." I said to the receptionist- a teenager as soon as I entered the motel. It was a shabby place with a dimly lit reception area, walls covered in torn brown wallpaper and shredded patches on the green carpet which also was marked by numerous black footprints leading in and out of the main door.

"Look, we're all booked tonight and-”

I snarled, making him sputter and stop altogether as I pointed my 9mm at his head.

"Get me a room." I said more softly this time and watched as he stumbled out of his rickety old chair, throwing a key at my feet as he ran out of the front door.

I sighed and picked up the keys, holding my gun in my hand as I exited the glass doors to bring Devon inside.

I dragged him somehow up the stairs and into a dimly lit corridor which reeked of goblins, vampires and what not. I wrinkled my nose and tightened my arm around Devon's waist.

"Let's just find our room." I murmured to the barely awake and standing Devon. He grunted and I quickly moved us
