Chapter Four

Alexis' POV;

Andy and I both grabbed our lunch trays and made way to our usual table, we got so caught up in what we were arguing about and didn't notice someone walking up to me  and the next thing I heard was a splat and my eyes widen.

**

My glasses fell off and so I went down to pick them up.

I was so scared to look up to who it was but by the shoes I had a gut feeling although really hope it isn't who I think it is. I take a deep breath and mustered up courage to face my doom.

Do you remember how i asked if this day could get worse? Well It just did.

I saw a face glaring at me not just any face though, it was the face of Christina Hollister, the one who hates my guts even though I never really knew why. She is the most popular girl in Greenfield High because she looked so perfect. Her blonde hair was shoulder length, her body stature was small and petite then she had ocean blue eyes that complimented her whole body even though am sure she's almost plastic.

"Look here nerd!" She yelled attracting a small crowd. "How dare you pour your cheap food over me!" She scolded angrily.

"Leave her alone." Andy whispered trying to defend me.

"Aww nerd love, yuck!" Said the brunette next to her with an irritated face.

At this point all eyes were on us and I  felt so shy and embarrassed that I couldn't look up to anyone.

"Now she's acting dumb!" The redhead at the other side of Christina mocked.

I tried talking back but all that came out of my mouth was "I'm sorry."

"Sorry isn't gonna cut it loser, do you know how much these clothes cost? You wouldn't be able to afford it even if you sold your house idiot!" Christina scolded.

With all these words I could already feel my eyes becoming moist and yes, even though they teased me on a daily basis it would still hurt me a lot, just that I wouldn't show it because I didn't want to come off as weak.

"Leave her alone bitch!" I heard from a familiar voice from behind her, everyone turned and my eyes met Jasmine's brown ones.

"This nerd has lots of defenders now doesn't she?" The brunette said again with a scoff.

"Shut up wannabe!" Jazz shot back at her and she became quiet.

"Aww isn't this cute? The slut even has has the nerve to talk to me after the stunt she performed trying to seduce my boyfriend at my own friend's party, isn't that just the height of shamelessness?" Christina shook her head.

"You said it yourself, it was your friend's party and besides I was drunk, it's not my fault your boyfriend isn't satisfied with you, you third class barbie doll!" Jazz replied with sass rolling her eyes.

After the exchanges there were gasps coming from the small crowd gathered there and with the frown on her face I knew Christina wasn't pleased with how things turned out.

"Let's leave the nerds and the slut alone, they are beginning to annoy me." Christina said then picked up her purse to left while her two minions followed behind her.

Are you okay baby girl?" Jasmin held my shoulders causing me to nod my head after which she pulled me in for a hug.

The hug was needed, I was far from okay but there's always something about the way Jasmin held me. It felt so peaceful, so loving.

Afer the bell rang signifying that lunch was over,  I attended all my classes but I felt out of it. When school was over Jazz offered to drop me at home but I declined, I wanted to walk.

When Jasmin left, Andy offered to walk with me and I agreed. It was a silent walk home.

Andy then cleared his throat. "How was school today?" He asked, trying to start a conversation but he paused.

I gave him a blank look and he realized his question. "I'm sorry, it was a stupid question." He apologized in a low tone.

I let out a chuckle. "You don't need to apologise."

"I was only trying to start a conversation because you were oddly quiet." Andy replied.

"It's nothing, I just don't know what to say."

The walk went back to being silent and after walking for like five minutes, I successfully got to my family's cafe. It is quite old, my dad started it when him and my mom got married but when he passed away my mom took over.

"Do you want a anything from the cafe?" I asked Andy who just shook his head and waved me goodbye before he continued on his way.

When I entered the store, the smell of coffee and baked goods hit my nose, causing me to close my eyes to appreciate it.

I  was greeted by George, the barista who was taking an order from the customer sitted.

"Isn't my mom back yet?" I asked as soon as I got close him.

"No, she said she would be late today." He answered with a smile.

My eyes dart to Tatiana, Taty cleans up the store, she's in her twenties, while George in his thirties.

From the distance, I could see Sophie at the register, I walked over to her and greeted her.

"How was school today?"

"Can people quit asking me how my day was?! Because if you all must know, it was just horrible!" I whisper yelled at Sophie who just hugged me.

Sophie suggested that I go home and not work today but I refused because if I should go home, all I'd probably do is think about that barbie doll Christina, but then hey come to think of it, I just realized that Christina's blonde just like a barbie doll, so that nickname is perfect for her.

After a mini argument with my sister, I went inside the storage room to drop my bag and grabbed an apron. Since I was at the store and didn't need to read anything, I took off my glasses and packed my hair up in a ponytail and face looked totally different.

I grab a pen and a notepad and I close the door gently.

I walk to a table where I see two girls who had the same face, meaning that they were twins and I write C#1 which simply means customer number one.

"What would you like to have?" I asked.

They both looked at each other and then at me,  "A peppermint mocha." They said in a  unison.

"I'll be right back with your order." I smiled and I take it to George.

My sister left an hour later  but not before telling me to bring something home for dinner after which gave me a hug and skipped out of the cafe.

The restaurant was full, which was good news to us, because my mom has been trying to bring the restaurant back to it's glory since my dad passed away.

After I was done with my shift, I was really tired so I changed  back to my normal outfit, grabbed my bag and packed two packs of fries and two chocolate milk for us. Sophie enjoyed drinking chocolate milk so I took a large cup for her and a medium for myself. I  waved George and Taty goodbye and then I left.
