Eli’s POV I have been in my office since morning solving palace matters and signing the documents that need to be signed. I have lots of responsibilities to meet as the Beta of my pack and I have been slacking off ever since I set my eyes on Sera and her children, no, my children again. “I will take them back no matter what”, I muttered as I rested my back briefly on the chair trying to take a short break from the work I have been doing since morning. “Come in”, I said when a sharp knock came on the door twice. A maid came in immediately with her head bowed and a tray of food in her hands. “Place it on the table”, I ordered and she did just that before leaving the office. I was about to start eating when a vibration distracted me . Ping! Ping! Ping!My phone rang on the table I placed it on and I picked up the call on the second ring because Nyra did not call me unless something mattered and the second I saw her name on my screen I knew this was not hesitation or confusion or anot
Nyra’s POV It has been over a week since I got a call from Eli about the photograph he saw with her in her room and I have started investigations on it already. I don’t know exactly where to start the investigation but I know that somehow, I’ll get to the root of the matter. I stood up from my bed slowly and moved to the window side to stare at the things going on in the palace. The palace hasn’t sensed peace or quietness in a while and it is not even disturbing. The main reason I came to this palace in the first place now seems impossible. “That’s not true”, I muttered silently trying to shove away the doubt that is settling in slowly in my mind. “Even the word itself says I’m possible”, I concluded and closed the window back before moving further into the room. “Let’s get ready for the day”, I said silently to myself and moved into the bathroom. I stayed under the shower for forty long minutes before leaving. Forty minutes of thinking of what to do, forty minutes of thinking of ho
Dorian’s POV I was still with Sera trying to trace the reason of the explosion from the scent she can feel and sniff when a guard rushed into the damaged floor with uneven breaths and tight expression and something told me immediately that whatever will come with that expression won’t make the issue on ground easier, it will only introduce more chaos. “My lord”, he said quickly with a strained voice, “we just received another report”. I didn’t hesitate or wait for another second, I faced him immediately. “What is it?”, I asked with all my attention. “The prison…”, he paused briefly and swallowed, “....the woman that came in a few days ago and Alpha Caden are in a heated argument and the woman is threatening to use her powers on him”. I didn’t wait to hear the next thing he had to say, I rushed out of the damaged floor with Sera trailing behind me. The walk to the prison was very fast and precise with Sera trying to catch up with my not very fast pace. I am one of the people that wa
Sera’s POV I was still with the people at the palace gate trying to make them understand that protest and violence won’t solve the issue on ground. “Calm down everyone”, I shouted at the top of my voice but it was like their voice overshadowed mine totally. I stepped away from the people slowly when a strange scent hit my nose and no matter how much I tried to focus on everything happening around me, the voices, the movements of guards through the damaged corridors, it stayed and lingered at the end of my senses like something alive that cannot be ignored.I stepped away further from the people without announcing it, not because I wanted to isolate myself but because whatever I was picking up at the moment could not be understood in the middle of noise and confusion. I traced the noise further into the palace and it led me to the broken section at the lower wing. It is the part of the palace that exploded the night before. As I stood there, the scent lingered and beneath it, there
Dorian’s POV I didn’t wait for Sera to wake up before standing up and leaving the bed not because I didn’t want her to see me or know I slept in the room with her but because I don’t know if I’ll be able to face her and talk to her. “I am sorry”, I muttered as I stared at her sleepy face on the bed, still feeling guilty for having to treat her like that. I stood up from the bed as carefully as I could just to make sure I did not disturb her and then I moved to the bathroom to have my shower. I stood under the cold shower for minutes letting the water run over as the scene of that night at the velvet eclipse flooded my head again without inviting it. I entered the club that night with the aim to just go there, do what the Alpha has asked me to do and leave the place immediately but little did I know that I was set up by Caden himself. I collected the drug that Caden told me I’ll be getting from a guard at the entrance that night and I was asked to sniff to confirm if it was true. I
Mila’s POV I got to the car park and drove wildly straight to the Voss palace. The file I received from Lena contained a video that shows my own father, Alpha Caden, killing the spy that tried kidnapping the twins a few months ago. I picked up my phone with one hand as I held the wheel with the other trying to keep my gaze on the road to avoid disaster. “Pick up, pick up”, I muttered over and over again as I called the Alpha’s line but it wasn’t connecting. “Oh goodness”, I gave up after trying countless times and dropped the phone on the seat beside me. It took about a five minutes drive to get to the Voss palace and the chamber I was interested in going to. I got down from the car just as fast as I drove in and entered the corridor leading to his office. The walk to his office was fast and calculated, I didn’t have much time to waste. “He needs to see this as soon as possible”, I muttered as I approached his office. I reached his office and I was surprised to see it was locked. “
