ELIZA’S POV

My heels clicked across the tiled floor as I entered the damned building once more.

My last home in the Crescent Moon Pack.

Yes, I had come back to fulfill some rites and although it was needed, I couldn’t fully say that I wanted to be here.

I walked through the lobby, getting some looks and or greeting from some of the staff that passed.

I was about to make my way to the guest room when one of the staff walked up to me, her head bowed in respect.

“Luna, uh, I mean…” She stuttered, not really sure what to call me again when the news of my annulment from the Alpha had spread far and wide in the pack.

“Eliza will do.” I informed her, not wanting to put her in such a difficult situation. She seemed to calm down with my words and looked up at me.

“Alpha Derek’s mother, Mrs. Diana, wishes to see you in her chambers.” She told me.

“Now?” I asked her, frustrated that I was being summoned when I just got here.

The woman gave me a nod that made me frown.

“Very well then. Can you he

ELIZA’S POVI felt a familiar presence brush against my mind as I initiated a mind link with Lily.If the financial auditor wanted to see the evidence that I had then he would get it all.The connection from the link with my former assistant hummed with urgency as I sent my silent command."Luna Eliza. What do you need me to do?" Lily asked me as soon as she felt the link, not wasting time to question why I was even contacting her in the first place."I need all the financial documents that record how much of my money and investments that I have put into the pack," I told her."You mean the secured documents?" She tried to confirm. I feigned a nod and replied."Yes. Those documents.""I'll have them up shortly," Lily informed me before I ended the link and paid attention to the scene in front of me.I didn't bother to tell Lily where I was because within minutes, she appeared at the door, clutching a thick folder of financial records to her chest. The link worked in a way that whoever

ALEXANDER’S POVHOURS EARLIERI stood at the top of the stairs watching Eliza’s retreating figure as well as Derek and his new woman as they walked away, leaving the castle. As soon as Eliza got into a car and drove away, I turned around, entering the building once more with my thoughts running through some things. As I walked through the hallways back to the throne room, I reflected on recent events.Pride swelled in my chest when I thought of Eliza's growth. She had evolved into everything I'd hoped for in a mate - her strength and determination apparent in every calculated move she'd made against Derek's corruption. The punishment from the King for Derek was disappointingly mild in my opinion compared to what he had done to Eliza but it was something.Letting Eliza move forward with her plans to rebuild her pack and also sharing the assets that they shared as he saw fit was a good blow to Derek’s ego.Yet I couldn't deny that his hubris had presented an unexpected gift - a chance t

ELIZA’S POV"What is going on here?!" The commanding voice filled up the room, making us freeze in our tracks but still turn to see who stood there. It was Alexander. He stood in the doorway, his broad shoulders filling the frame. His grey eyes, sharp as steel, took in the scene before him – Derek's aggressive stance, my defensive position, Lily's reddened wrist, and the scattered documents between us.His gaze held authority, the kind that made even the most dominant wolves yield.A gaze that made even me stop in my tracks."I asked a question," Alexander's voice dropped lower, more dangerous as he looked between us."Would someone care to explain why a simple property settlement meeting has devolved into this?"The air had thickened with authority the moment Alexander entered the room.My wolf stirred, releasing a pleased rumble deep in my chest at his arrival.I hadn't expected him here at Crescent Moon Pack, but I couldn't deny the sudden feeling of security his presence brought.

DEREK’S POVI paced in my quarters, my hands shaking with barely contained rage. This wasn't how today was supposed to go.When I had walked into that settlement meeting, I had expected Eliza to grovel at my feet for mercy, to show some kind of desperation.Instead, that bastard Alexander had swept in like an avenging angel and turned everything on its head.I was the one who left empty-handed and with shame hanging over my head.Three million dollars. The number echoed in my mind like a death knell. I sucked at my teeth, wondering how this had happened.I was an Alpha of the pack for God's sake.A celebrated general, personally praised by the king for my efforts in the war, and yet I found myself in debt to the woman I had cast aside. It wasn't fair.If Alexander hadn't shown up when he did, then I might have been able to convince the auditor. The memory of Alexander's arrival made my blood boil. The way he had strode into that room, emanating power and authority, had immediately shi

ELIZA’S POVI caught Lily's eye across the room as the settlement papers were signed. A subtle nod passed between us – it was time.My heart pounded as I stood, knowing what came next would change everything."I request all pack members to gather immediately," I announced, my voice carrying the authority I'd earned.I watched as Derek's face contorted in confusion, clearly not expecting this turn of events."You don't have the right to request such a thing. You are no longer the Luna of the pack and therefore the pack no longer answers to you.""I never addressed the pack when our marriage was annulled. It was my right and since I never did that, I request to do it now." I shot back, but Derek scoffed."You lost that right when you...""You mean when you had an affair and brought back another woman to the pack?" Alexander butted in. I was thankful for the backup but he needed to let me fight my own battles.Due to these words, Derek's lips went into a straight line, the poke at his ow

ELIZA’S POVMy heart constricted as I stood before what remains of my childhood home. The pack house, once proud and magnificent, now stood in haunting ruins.Crumbling walls told stories of neglect, while weeds thrust through cracks in the courtyard stones like nature's slow-moving revenge. The sight brought tears to my eyes, but I forced them back. I couldn’t show weakness, not now. I walk through the ruins until the pack members and I reach a suitable place in the middle of it all, my back turning to the home I left behind to address my new pack. The gathered wolves watched me with expectant eyes as I began to speak. My voice trembled at first, but grew stronger as I recounted the tale that had haunted my dreams for years."It happened on a night like any other," I told them, the memories fresh as yesterday's wounds. "My father was holding council with the pack elders. My brother was training the younger wolves. None of us saw the Western Plains attack coming."A young wolf, barely

ELIZA’S POVI wandered aimlessly through the pack grounds, trying to calm my racing heart after that encounter with Alexander. His scent still lingered in my nostrils, making it impossible to think clearly. I shook my head, trying to clear my mind and focus on what is actually important to me. Saving my pack."You're acting like a teenage pup with her first crush," my wolf teased, her tone light and playful. "We're a strong, independent Alpha female. We should be enjoying our freedom, not running away from an attractive male.""I'm not running," I muttered, though my hasty retreat said otherwise."Oh? So what do you call that graceful sprint just now?" She laughed. "Face it, his Alpha aura affects us. Affects you. There's nothing wrong with that.""It doesn't affect me. I just need to stay away from him for some time." I retorted, not liking what she was hinting at."We're single Eliza. We have no mate. Isn't it unfair that Derek has a new plaything and we are left to wander through t

ELIZA’S POVMy first curled around the head of my knife ready to be unsheathed as I ran to the middle of the battlefield. My heart, pounding like the war drum sounding some miles away.An arrow, almost immediately, flew over my head piercing into the throat of the man standing before me and I watched as he fell to ground knees first as blood gushed out from his throat.'Run Eliza. Run!' I turned my head to the direction of the voice but the primal and brutal snarls surrounding me prevented me from seeing who it was.'Eliza! By the goddess run!' It was Mom's voice. This time, I didn't need any confirmation to know it was her.But what was Mom doing at the battlefield?I quickly turned to the direction of her voice and saw her standing in the middle of fallen warriors, her dress soaked in blood; blood so thick I could taste the coppery thang in my throat.'Mom, run!' I yelled but my shouts barely escaped my throat. Two men from her left and right were approaching her fast and she was un

ELIZA’S POVThe battlefield still reeked of blood and sweat. My body ached. My muscles screamed from the strain of combat, but the rush of adrenaline still coursed through my veins. The cold was supposed to hurt my skin, but I barely felt it. Not when I saw him.Alexander.He walked toward me slowly. His breathing was heavy from the fight. His dark hair was damp, filled with sweat and dirt.Yet, even covered in grime, he looked as breathtaking as ever. My heart clenched at the sight of him.A slow smile spread across his lips as he stopped in front of me.Without hesitation, he reached out and rested his forehead against mine.“You fought beautifully,” he murmured “I’m proud of you, Eliza.”A warmth spread through my chest at his words. I met his gaze with a smile “You didn’t do too bad yourself.”He chuckled “Flattery will get you everywhere, you know.”I laughed softly. People moved around us. The battlefield was still alive with movement, yet in this moment, it felt like just the t

THIRD PERSON’S POVUnder the cold moonlight, General Victor of the Western Plains looked down at the Lycan Kingdom's wolves from the towering walls of Illyria. His sharp eyes scanned the battlefield below, where the remnants of the first assault was—bodies scattered across the ground, the scent of blood thick in the air.The city’s wolves had been caught off guard, scrambling to organize their defenses. Now, the walls were lined with archers who were ready for another attack.Yet, the invading forces had withdrawn after only an hour, leaving the defenders uncertain. They were all tense.Victor exhaled sharply.Alexander’s strategy was beginning to take shape, but it was unimpressive so far.The first wave had been a feint. He knew it was meant to test their defenses. And now, as the night stretched on, the second assault came harder.A loud horn sounded from the enemy’s side, and within moments, thirty thousand wolves charged forward.Their war cries tore through the night as they ran

ELIZA’S POVAfter our heart-to-heart talk, Alexander looked deep into my eyes.It wasn’t until he reached out and ran a gentle finger over my arm that I followed his gaze and noticed the dried blood staining my skin. His jaw tightened. "You shouldn't have to sit in this filth," he said softly. Before I could protest, he turned to the nearest servant and ordered hot water to be prepared. The quiet authority in his voice sent a shiver through me, though whether from warmth or something deeper, I couldn't tell. When we got to his tent, the water was ready."I can do it—" I started, but he gave me a look that silenced me. Not out of dominance, but something else. A need to take care of me. A need I hadn’t realized I craved until now."Let me," he murmured, and I couldn’t refuse him.I sat before the basin. My heart hammered as he knelt beside me. Each brush of his knuckles against my skin sent warmth through me.He was careful as he peeled away my dirty clothes, revealing the bruises and

ELIZA’S POVThe candlelight reflected across the war table, highlighting the drawn battle maps and strategic placements marked in bold ink.My eyes remained fixed on Alexander as he leaned over the table. His brows were furrowed as his fingers moved over the map. His presence was magnetic, like a force that commanded attention, respect. He looked even more gorgeous when he was focused – the furrowing of his brows, his lips pressed into a thin line, the way strands of his hair fell over his face, the way he flexed his muscles.I was in awe.My wolf purred in satisfaction. The sight of him like this was enough to send heat spreading through me. I had to clench my thighs to control myself. He was so effortlessly charming that it hurt to look at him.His deep, steady voice echoed through the tent.We were all exhausted. Still, I couldn’t care less.It didn’t matter how tired I was. I could stand here and look at him all day, no matter how exhausted I was."We need to secure the eastern fl

ALEXANDER’S POVI stepped inside the war tent. My eyes immediately locked on the weary figure slumped in the chair before me.Despite the grime caking her skin, the dried blood at her temple, and the shadows beneath her eyes, Eliza was still the most breathtaking sight I had ever laid eyes on.She looked different now—no longer the radiant, untouchable warrior who had once been in the Seekers Guild. She looked raw, battered, and utterly exhausted. And yet, I was still drawn to her.My throat tightened as I watched her shift slightly. Her muscles seemed stiff from battle.I stepped forward, feeling worried about her, “How are you feeling?"She lifted her gaze, and those deep brown eyes met mine. "Thirsty," she said simply. "And hungry.""I imagine so." I gestured to the plate of bread and dried meat on the small table beside her. "Eat. And drink." My tone left no room for argument. She hesitated for only a moment before reaching for the water, tilting the flask back quickly.I watched

ELIZA’S POVI found myself face-to-face with Alexander. His blue eyes softened as he studied me. He had something in his eyes—concern, maybe even understanding.“Eliza,” he said gently “I know how you feel. Learning the truth like that… it’s a lot to take in. But drinking yourself into oblivion won’t change anything.”I swallowed hard, not wanting to meet his gaze. It wasn’t just the truth that had sent me spiraling—it was everything. The war, the constant fight for survival, the fact that my father and brother died for this. But then, Alexander’s eyes landed on the flask still in my grip. His gaze lingered, and I could see the discipline in his expression wavering ever so slightly.Ah.I knew that look. I’d seen it plenty of times from soldiers and other travelers alike. He wanted a drink.Biting back a smile, I rubbed at my sore nose, pretending not to notice. I didn’t say a word as Alexander turned on his heel and walked toward the command tent with the flask in hand.Boone’s jaw d

He sat there, leaning against a table watching me with that intense look of his.“You’re awake,” he said softly.I smiled “I am.”His eyes searched my face. “How did you sleep?”“Well enough,” I replied, stretching beneath the sheets. I did not tell him how rare such rest was for me.And then I saw it—the worry in his eyes. The way his lips pressed together, as if he were holding something back.I sat up, my pulse quickening. “What is it?”Alexander hesitated. That alone made my stomach tighten. He was not a man who hesitated.“Eliza,” he began. He seemed hesitant “I received a letter not too long ago.”His hesitation only made my heart pound harde

THIRD PERSON’S POVThe cold wind moved through the city walls of Illyria.Viktor Simons, Marshal of the Western Plains, stood on top of the balcony, looking over everything. In the distance, he could see the Lycan Kingdom’s camp. His gloved hands were clenched behind his back. The scent of wolves filled the air, sending a shudder through his own beast. His wolf stirred, not with fear, but with total hate.Viktor’s white hair remained untouched by the wind, but the cold air wrapped around him, making each exhale a cloud of ice.He could hear the snow crunching under the boots of approaching soldiers.Marshal Chandler of the Dune Kingdom was with them.Unlike Viktor, Chandler had spent his years fighting in the heat of the dunes, and the bitter cold of this northern front did little to suit him.“This march has taken its toll,” Chandler said, coming closer to Viktor, “The men need rest, Viktor.
