ELIZA’S POV

The next morning had come by much quicker than I had expected, more so because I couldn’t sleep the night before.

The act of betrayal and the blatant disrespect I got from not just Derek and his whore but also Diana was too much to bare that it ran through my mind constantly, depriving me of any rest.

I huffed and stuffed the last clothes I had into my suitcase and zipped it up, ready to leave the building that Derek and I were meant to call home.

I pulled up the handles and rolled the suitcase out of the room, on my way to the lobby below.

Just as I got there, my heart set on leaving this place for good, the grating voice of a familiar face called out to me.

“Finally, you’re leaving this mansion. It’s good that you know where you aren’t wanted.” Maya spat at me with a smirk on her face, causing me to come to a stop and frown.

I wasn’t in the mood for her snarky remarks.

I was leaving the pack and never looking back, I didn’t need to reply to her comments. She was nothing to me.

Just as I turned to leave, Maya spoke out again, venom seeping from her tone, like she was just trying to get a rise out of me.

“It’s nice the Lycan King could see that you were useless. I mean a Luna who can’t defend her pack on the battlefield is as good as the dirt beneath my heels. Completely worthless.”

I paused and faced her, feeling my blood boil.

In that moment, one of the house staff passed by and I signaled her to take my things to my car outside while I put this bitch in her place.

The woman did as she was told and once Maya and I were left alone, I unleashed my full fury on her.

“That’s rich coming from a woman who deemed it fair to meddle in someone else’s marriage. What’s wrong? Did no other man fancy you that you thought it a good idea to seduce an already married man? Is that how low you’d stoop?”

Maya opened her mouth to retort but I cut her off with a raise of my hand.

I was still the Luna. She couldn’t speak to me that way.

“What? Did you really think that you were being a good role model by traipsing around the battlefield with the men? Did you think that anyone here is convinced that you of all people actually fought tooth and nail for our pack to survive?” I shouted at her, my lips pulling up into a small smile when I saw her face pale and her mouth drop at my words.

Harsh but true nonetheless.

She needed to know that even if she had gotten Derek into her claws, I was not one to be put down.

“Do not speak to the future Luna of the Crescent Moon Pack in such a manner.” A deep and firm voice scolded me.

I rolled my eyes. If it wasn’t my backstabbing husband, Derek.

Derek walked into the lobby, a sneer on his face as he watched me. He walked over to Maya and held her close, his eyes shooting daggers at me.

“Face it Eliza. The mate bond that I and Maya have is strong and cannot be ignored. You have no idea of the connection we share.” He said to me. I scoffed and folded my arms.

“You both share a connection. A connection that was built on the betrayal of your wife, you cheating bastard!”

“You do not speak to me that way! You are a good for nothing and worthless woman. Do you honestly believe that you could measure up to what Maya accomplished for our pack on the battlefield? You can’t measure up to her. So, shut up and regard her as your new Luna.” Derek screamed back, his nostrils flaring as his new woman smirked at me, holding him tight.

I could feel a storm brewing inside me but I managed to calm myself down, coming to the conclusion that these people weren’t worth it.

“Fine then. Since you want Maya to be your Luna so badly, I’ll have this divorce but I expect that you repay every single dime you owe me.”

As soon as the words left my mouth, Derek’s eyes widened in shock.

“Pay you back what I owe you?” He asked incredulously. “Your lifestyle in the pack was thanks to my efforts in the battlefield and you dare ask me for settlement. You ungrateful bitch.”

Bitch. That was not a word I liked to be called.

In three swift steps, I shortened the distance between Derek and I and slapped him across the face, the sound echoing off the walls of the house, feeling a bit better.

“Finally, give the man what he deserves for betraying you." My wolf cheered me on, whispering to me that I had done the right thing by putting him in his place.

Derek whipped his head to me, his hands balled up into fists, no doubt ready to scream his head off but I didn’t give him the chance.

I spun around and walked off, letting the last sound they heard from me be the clicking of my heels against the tiles.

“How dare you lay a hand on him?” I could hear Maya scream at me but I didn’t give her a moment of my time any longer.

I left the building, got into my car and drove off, leaving the Crescent Moon Pack behind and making my way home.

In about an hour, my car began to pull into the familiar terrain of my former pack. The Silver Moon Pack.

The tall trees moved with the wind and the smell of the freshly wet soil sent shivers up my spine.

Without warning my heart began to race, memories of what happened here the last six months flooding back.

The time when spies from the Western Plain slaughtered my family when I was occupied by stupid affairs with another pack.

When I had found only the blood soaked ruins of my home and the lifeless bodies of my grandmother and mother strewn across the fallen banners like they were nothing more than toys to be discarded off when they weren’t wanted anymore.

My car came to a halt at the site of where it all happened and I came down, walking tentatively towards the broken house and beside it, my family’s graves, my eyes watering up.

The bad thoughts were replaced with good memories as I remembered the joyful days when I trained with my family for hours on end.

I remembered when my mum would cook dinner for us and we would eat under the moonlight. Her hand stroking my hair when she told us stories of the moon goddess.

The times when my father would take us out to the forest to run with the wind.

The way he would badger my brothers to get it right over and over again with a smile on his face. The love that both my parents and my brothers had for me and yet I wasn't there to help them. To save them.

I could see it all as if a movie was replaying in my head. I sniffled knowing that I couldn’t go back there even if I tried.

The tears that I had been holding back streamed down my face, each one with loss and regret.

I fell to my knees, the burden of their death weighing down on me.

“It will be fine Eliza. You will get through this. We will have our revenge on the people who did this and we will avenge our family." My wolf whispered words of solace, reminding me that the past could not be undone but vengeance was still within my grasp.

Her voice not only calmed me but gave me a sense of purpose.

With my wolf’s words and my mind made up, I muttered a silent plea to the souls of my family, begging them to be with me on this path I had chosen.

After my time at the graveyard, I had to do the only thing left before I started on my quest for revenge.

I headed back to my car amidst the rubble and took out my phone from my purse, calling the one person I knew would still be on my side after everything that had happened.

My former assistant and the pack’s financial officer, Lily.

The call rang twice before she finally answered.

“Lily." I called her name.

“Luna Eliza. Where are you? I've been meaning to see you especially after the news the employees just received from Alpha Derek." Lily informed me but I sighed and shrugged it off.

She most likely knew who Maya was to Derek now and she still insisted on calling me her Luna. Lily was quite the character but I had more pressing matters at hand.

“Forget about that for now Lily. I need you to book a flight to the city for me.”

"Where to?” She asked me without any hesitation.

"The Lycan Kingdom. I need a flight first thing tomorrow.” I repeated, “Can you do that?”

"Of course Luna." She acknowledged before I ended the call and settled into the driver's seat.

I was going to petition the Lycan King for Justice.

I was going to make Derek return all that he owed me.

I would get back my rightful compensation and assets from him and then I would set out to avenge my family.

ALEXANDER’S POVI tapped my right foot incessantly as I listened to my subordinates drone off about matters I already knew.I turned my gaze to nothing in particular, wanting to have some time myself but this had to be settled first. After all, military affairs on the battlefield came before my own life. The military camp had been my home for longer than I cared to remember. What began as a carefully orchestrated plan by my father, King Kyle, the Lycan King, to forge me into a capable leader had transformed into my entire existence.Under an alias, I had risen through the ranks, becoming the commander of an army that respected me not for my royal lineage, but for my combat skills and strategic mind.“Sir, the border is almost completely under our control. We’ve managed to push the forces back and regain our lost terrain. All that remains now is to push forward and claim theirs.” One of the men, Bolton, said to me, his eyes bright.“So what are we waiting for?” I asked them, already se

AUTHOR’S POVEliza got down from her car and walked up to the massive building in front of her.White marble walls with black trimmings and huge columns stared back at her, highlighting the power and opulence that this one building held. Its importance and stance was empowering and yet unnerving at the same time. This was the castle of the Lycan King. The centre of power of the Lycan Kingdom. She took a deep breath and calmed herself.Even though she wanted to go in there with guns blazing for the decision the king made concerning Derek and Maya, she had to keep herself in check. He was her king after all and she was not willing to die because of a reckless mistake. With a calm demeanor, Eliza walked up the stairs, wanting to go in to have an audience with the king but as soon as she reached the doors, she was stopped by the two guards who stood watch.“What is your purpose here?” One of the guards asked, his eyes narrowing at Eliza.“I am the Luna of the Silver Moon Pack and I reques

DEREK’s POVI had always pursued Eliza for two fundamental reasons: her substantial wealth and her undeniable beauty. Not that her beauty meant much to me. It was nothing more than a superficial attribute. She was merely a trophy, a means to an end. A means that I had no choice but to use.The truth was, I despised everything about her role as a housewife. What contribution did such women make to the Lycan Kingdom? Nothing. Absolutely nothing.Luna’s like her were decorative at best and a burden at worst.Eliza was the epitome of everything I found frustrating about traditional pack dynamics—women who existed in the shadows of their husbands, contributing nothing to the pack's strength or survival but yet reaping the rewards of where they did not sow.The only thing they were held on a pedestal for was siring heirs to the throne or just as the children of the Alpha of the pack. That mentality had made Eliza unbearable. We didn’t spend a day together since we got married but I couldn’t

ELIZA’S POVI hadn't expected to run into Derek and Maya at all.The mall had always been somewhat my sanctuary—a place where I could analyze business operations, browse quietly, and momentarily escape. It was a place of peace especially since I knew that Derek wouldn’t ever set foot in the place. However, it turned out today I was wrong. When they appeared, I chose to ignore them first. My mother had always taught me that dignity was a weapon more powerful than any harsh words. But Maya, it seemed, didn’t learn such a lesson while growing up because her shrill voice called out to me."Look who's here," she sneered, her voice dripping with malice. “I didn’t think that you had enough money to shop in a place like this Eliza especially with the divorce so close at hand.” Maya jeered, thinking that she had landed a hit to my ego.I still ignored her, dropping the purse in my hand and reaching for another item to check the quality. It seemed like my lack of attention angered Derek because

ELIZA’S POVFinally the D-Day that I had been waiting for had arrived. It was the day that Derek, Maya and I were to appear before the Lycan king for the annulment ceremony. The day that I was ready to make my own when I triumphed over Derek.Well, at night, seeing that the moon was already high up in the sky.It seemed unreal at the moment but I couldn't help but smile when I walked up the stairs of the castle, ready to get my victory. As I walked in, the walls and ambience of the castle still drew me in, not changed at all from how it was the last time I came here.Regardless of my excitement, the palace halls seemed to close in around me, each step echoing with the weight of months of betrayal and frustration.Betrayal carried out by the man I called my husband.I shook my head, my blood warming up when I heard that shrill voice of the people I hated most in this world.“I see you made it." Derek’s voice cut through the awkward silence as we came to a stop in front of the doors of

ALEXANDER’S POVI remembered how the wind rushed past me, my wolf's energy intertwining with my own and driving me forward with an urgency that bordered on desperation.Every muscle, every instinct screamed that I needed to return to the capital—to her.I swerved my car around a bend, not bothering to check if anyone was coming. I had one thought on my mind.I needed to get to Eliza.I needed to see her.Memories of Eliza cascaded through my mind like fragmented scenes from a dream as I speed through the highways. Her strength, her fire, the way she had once looked at me—before everything fell apart. The way she commanded our legions when we trained. I can remember it vividly.“Close the flanks. Don't let the enemy through the gates.” She commanded as we were about to be raided on a journey. The troops followed her every command and although I wasn't there for the fight, the troops came back unscathed, praising her for her leadership. It was another one of the reasons that I was drawn

A tribute to win her favor.” The mystery man said to Derek, his sword drawn and aimed for my ex-husband’s jugular.Derek’s face went pale for a moment before he grimaced, shocked that the man had the audacity to challenge him to a fight because of me.His eyes were trained on the blade, watching for any sign of attacks but I could smell the hint of fear that radiated off him.His opponent was stronger. Derek wouldn’t stand a chance and he knew it.I smiled to myself, amused by the attempt of this man to do everything to win me over even if it meant cutting Derek down in the presence of our king.I couldn’t help but admire his boldness, even if I didn’t want blood spilled over me.His body was taut as his blade stood high and I could clearly see that he was strong. He looked impressive, wielding that sword regardless of who he was about to cut down for my hand in marriage.I stopped smiling, mentally berating myself for thinking of him in such a

ELIZA’S POVThe early morning sun cast long shadows across the palace courtyard as I walked out of the building, purse in hand and a proud look on my face.I had a pep in my step as I walked down those steps, my heart high that I had gotten what I wanted from the meeting with the king.It wasn’t everything I wanted but it was a step in the right direction. My morning was going great but just as the universe always reminds me, there’s always evil lurking around. A notion that was made evident by the voice that reached my ears."Leaving so soon, little mutt?" Derek’s mundane voice scraped against my nerves like nails on a chalkboard.I didn’t need to turn around to picture the smirk on his face or the way that Maya would be clinging to his arm like a designer accessory even though they had just received the shock of their life.My wolf stirred beneath my skin, her hackles raised in apprehension.“Tear them limb from limb. Let’s show them what we’re capable of Eliza.” She said to me, her

ALEXANDER’S POVThe moment I opened my eyes that morning, the scent of her still lingered on my skin.Eliza.Her warmth, the softness of her body pressed against mine, and the way her breath had hitched when I touched her—it was all burned into my mind like an imprint I would never forget. It had been days since I last saw her yet it felt like it was just yesterday.I missed her.Goddess, I missed her more than I could put into words.I had waited years for her, loving her from afar, forcing myself to suppress what I felt. She had always been meant for me.Even my wolf had known it from the start, but fate had other plans. We were separated. Now, with her back in my life, with her finally in my arms, I couldn’t bear the thought of letting her go again. My wolf stirred restlessly, pacing in my mind. He kept urging me to claim her, to solidify the bond between us.“Patience,&rdq

The outer defenses have been reinforced, and the warriors are undergoing intensive training. The people are rallying, Eliza. They believe in you.”I nodded as I looked at the reports “Good. And the supply lines?”Frederick answered this time “Restored. We have enough resources to last the winter. I had never felt like this with anyone before. His hands slid around my waist, pulling me against his hard sculpted body. I gasped against his lips, and he took full advantage. He used the opportunity to deepen the kiss with an intensity that made my knees weak. The taste of him sent a shudder through me, and I surrendered completely.Alexander took control effortlessly, as if he had always known exactly how to touch me, how to unravel me.My body melted into his and my arms wrapped around his neck as my fingers tangled in his hair.He groaned low in his throat. ELIZA’S POVAlyosha’s message had been short but enough to send a chill down my spine.Alexander and I returned to his private study in silence. As soon as we stepped inside, he shut the door behind us, locking out the noise of the palace.“We both know your father won’t change his mind,” I said, forcing myself to speak first. The words were painful but they were the truth. I saw it in Alexander’s eyes—he looked frustrated. He sighed and ran his hand through his hair.“I know.” He said “I can’t believe he thinks you’re a spy. How can he say that?”I paced the room. My mind raced with different possibilities.“There’s no time to dwell on that. If he’s not going to listen to us then we need another way. His presence commanded attention as usual. He was dressed in a white button up shirt and black pants. His ocean blue eyes met mine, and for a moment, the entire world faded into the background. My feet moved before I could think. I was drawn to him in a way I couldn’t explain. He opened his arms, and I practically melted into them, inhaling his scent. I had never been this happy to see anyone before.“I missed you,” he murmured against my hair. I missed her terribly. My wolf kept clawing at me, calling out for his mate.He demanded that I go back, that I claim her, that I hold her in my arms again. But I couldn't.Not yet. Duty came first, as it always had, as it always would. The grand hall was filled with nobles, generals, and high-ranking officials discussing preparations for the upcoming ceremony. The packs that had distinguished themselves in the border wars were to be honored, and as the heir to the throne, it was my responsibility to ensure every detail was executed flawlessly. But my mind drifted, betraying me.I couldn’t help but think about her.She was always in my mind.I thought of her beautiful eyes, the way she had looked at me, the way she felt in my arms, her lovely scent.Goddess, I was running mad.I coul

ELIZA’S POVI sat at my desk, recalling the messenger’s words. The news was unsettling—dangerous even—and my instincts were already on high alert.“Where is this information from?” I asked him.“It’s from Alyosha, my lady. She sent it directly from the border.”Alyosha. The name hit me.I dismissed the messenger with a wave.Alyosha was a lone she-wolf I had met during my training days.Alyosha was wild, untamed, a free spirit who had no interest in the constraints of pack life. She had always vowed to explore the continent on her own terms, and it was that very defiance that allowed her to gather critical intelligence. As much as I admired her independence, I had always known that trusting her would not be totally good.I couldn’t wait any longer. I grabbed my phone, dialed her number and pressed it to my ear.“Come on, Alyosha,” I muttered to myself, “pick up.”When she finally answered, I sighed in relief.“Eliza,” she said “To what do I owe the pleasure?”“Alyosha,” I said “I rece

It was my silent statement—I was not a woman scorned.
