Zara

I ran deeper into the forest, heartbroken and struggling to breathe. My wolf Nova was furious - not only because Marcus, her fatal mate and heir to a billion-dollar werewolf empire, had cheated on me with another wolf, but also because of my mother's shocking response.

Instead of comforting her daughter, my mother suggested that I agree to become Marcus's concubine, sharing him with his new chosen mate for the sake of their pack's alliance with his wealthy Sterling Industries.

I didn't stop until I was deeper into the forest, my lungs burning from lack of oxygen.

My wolf Nova was furious.

At first, she was hesitant about Marcus, but eventually she was convinced. She thought he was our mate, too. While I was heartbroken and fighting back tears, Nova was seething.

Nova wanted revenge on both Marcus and my mother, but I begged her not to hurt them. I closed my eyes and let her take over, making her promise not to go and hunt Marcus, my mother, or his mate.

The betrayal cut deeper than the bond of a mate—my mother choosing pack politics and money over her daughter’s dignity.

Nova carried us deeper into the forest, and I let myself be drawn into the deepest recesses of her mind. My mind was still racing over what had just happened, wanting to shut everything off for a few moments. I couldn’t handle it.

Hours had passed, but I barely noticed. I dozed off while Nova hunted and kept running.

I finally came to my senses as soft grass tickled my bare back. The familiar scent of herbs filled the air. Basil, lavender, and mint invaded my nose and soothed my aching heart.

We ran for hours until we found ourselves at the Moonstone Warrior Academy, an elite supernatural academy hidden deep in the mountains, far from the corporate politics of the werewolves. I had heard of this place, where broken wolves were sent to be forged into weapons, where the weak became deadly.

The wolf commander led me into the academy and sat me down by the fireplace.

“Tell me what happened?” The commander sat down next to me, placing clean clothes in my lap.

And I told him. I poured out my heart to him for what felt like hours. The commander never once threw my mistake in my face, the way my mother would have.

“I don’t want to go back. I can’t face them.” I sniffled.

“Then you’re not coming back. You’re staying here with me.” When the Academy’s director, Commander Steel, saw my tear-stained face and heard my story—the betrayal, the concubine’s proposal, the choice between love and money—he accepted me immediately. “You will train here,” he stated grimly. “We will make sure no one makes you feel powerless again.”

A year later:

“Haha!” I laughed, flying into the air. I dodged the muscular arms that reached out to grab me.

I fell to the ground, dodging the limbs and throwing my blows as I went.

“Good Zara, don’t let me throw any punches,” Steel’s tired voice cried.

“Just a few more seconds. He’s getting tired,” Nova encouraged.

I continued to dodge Steel’s every move, throwing my blow at me. I could feel him breaking, tiring, and throwing everything he had at me.

“Now!” Nova screamed in my head.

I suddenly jumped on Steele, his eyes widened in shock before he could defend himself. He turned away as if he was going to run. I landed on his back and wrapped my arms around his neck, pressing on his windpipe.

After a second or two of hesitation, I jumped off his back and beamed at him.

"That was a good job, kid." He nodded approvingly.

"Thank you," I smirked, finally getting the better of him.

He rolled his eyes and frowned at me, "Don't get cocky. You still need to work on your strength."

"I know, I know. Just give me this win." I sighed, smiling at my wolf. I lived at the Moonstone Warrior Academy for a year, undergoing the most brutal supernatural combat training.

I trained daily in advanced werewolf warfare, tactical combat, supernatural weaponry, and psychological warfare. Under the tutelage of Commander Steele and the elite instructors, I transformed from a brokenhearted girl into a deadly warrior.

I became stronger, faster, and deadlier, channeling the pain of Marcus' betrayal and my mother's cruel suggestion into an unstoppable force.

Life at the academy was amazing. I spent my birthday at the academy. I barely interacted with my family - my mother constantly pressed me to reconcile with Marcus, insisting that his billions made him worth sharing. My father supported my choices, and my brother Ryan was barely in touch, busy with pack matters and politics.

"Zara, dear. Your brother is waiting on the line for you!" Steele said, placing a sandwich in my hand as I walked into the house.

"Hello?" I said, my mouth full of a sandwich. Why would Ryan call me?

"Zara? I have news." His voice answered from the other end, much lower than usual.

"What happened?" I frowned, sitting on the arm of the couch, munching on a sandwich.

There was a long pause on the other end of the line.

“Mom’s dead, Zara,” he answered, his voice hoarse.

I felt my face twist in confusion. How could Mom be dead? Everything had seemed normal when Dad called me every week.

“W-what? How?” I demanded.

“Our mother died, apparently in a car accident during a business meeting with rival werewolf corporations. Just… Just come home, Zara.” He didn’t explain much, just said that our pack was in crisis and our father needed me home.

“Okay.” I sighed. The last thing I wanted was to go home. The thought of running into Marcus or his mate left a sour taste in my mouth.

I told Steele the news. As much as he disliked my mother, he was still sad to hear about what had happened.

“What happened to your mother?” He said sadly.

“He said he wanted to explain in person. He said my father needed me.” I frowned at him.

I didn’t want to go back, especially knowing Marcus and his mate were still prominent in their social circles. But Commander Steele insisted I go, saying I was ready to face my past as a trained warrior. “You’re not the weak girl who ran away anymore,” he told her. “Show them what a year at Moonstone Academy makes.”

  • The Billionaire Alpha Rejected His True Luna   Worst Happened

Canyon sat about ten feet away from us, leaning against a thick oak tree in our backyard. His eyes were shining, his mouth open in a silent scream. A scream that would never leave his parted lips.Like Katie, his throat was torn out. Crimson blood stained his coffee-brown skin.Little did I know that none of the pack would sleep peacefully tonight.Another one of us was dead. Killed in the same way as Katie.Equally disturbing was the location of Canyon's body. It was no coincidence that he was in front of the apartment, against a tree. But what struck me even more was his eyes. They seemed to be looking straight into my bedroom, straight at me.The first thing I did was warn Alpha Kane and his men. There was no explanation, no searching glances falling on me. There were too many coincidences. First, Marcus disappears with his mate. Everyone knew Marcus and I were together. Second, the position of Canyon's body was too perfect. And the location of the murder was too close to home. The

“Competition?” I smirked, almost like Nova. “In case it wasn’t obvious, you’re the one with Marcus. I’m bound to the pack, not Marcus. Has he ever told you about his plans?”I tried to keep my voice casual, hoping she’d spill some information. Something that would make this conversation worth passing on to Alpha Kane. Right now, I have nothing. This conversation was a pointless attempt to quell her raging jealousy.I wanted to ask her about the attacks on our pack, but was it worth giving sensitive information to an outsider? I did not doubt that anything I told her would get back to Marcus, especially if it had anything to do with his former pack.“Oh, no,” Kate smirked, shaking her head. “No way. My mouth is sealed.”“Tell me. What if I knock you out and drag you to my Alpha?” I allowed myself a cruel grin. “Then how are you going to keep Marcus’s plans a secret?”Kate’s grin matched mine, and she leaned closer. I felt my grin slip at her words, and anger began to boil in my veins.

  • The Billionaire Alpha Rejected His True Luna   Sharing Chocolate With CEO

"Here, try it." She took the chocolate bar without saying a word. Zara was not overly emotional. She acted calmly, keeping her cool, and I liked that about her, but now she seemed completely emotional. Then she spoke in a quiet, meek voice."You told me not to disappoint you, and I did."Was that the source of her sudden rage?I collapsed on the sofa behind me, facing her, and shook my head.If anyone had disappointed me, it was my rivals."You did not disappoint, and I am not angry with you," I told her calmly, noticing that she had not finished her tea. "Finish your tea." It was I who gave the order.A barely noticeable smile touched her lips as she wiped away her tears. She finished the hot drink in silence, and I watched her in silence."Did your guests find it strange that I didn't come back for dinner?" She asked, finally turning to face me. Sadness still sat comfortably on her face. I had never seen her so down."I told them you were unwell and that we would meet them another d

  • The Billionaire Alpha Rejected His True Luna   Cold CEO Cared Me

I washed the pretty dress with hand soap – a trick that helps remove blood stains – and hoped I hadn’t ruined the gorgeous outfit completely.Pain shot through me, and I knew I needed to lie down. Not having the strength to open my suitcase and get my nightgown, I selfishly grabbed the black shirt Alpha Kane had lent me and put it on. It was soaked with his scent, soothing.I involuntarily took a deep breath, walked over to the bed, and slid under the covers, fighting the blinding pain.As soon as I closed my eyes, the image of Alpha Kane’s bare chest appeared before my eyes. A wolf, all hard muscle, with a snake tattoo, hissed at the audience. The pain was forgotten when I remembered the blissful moments when my thoughts were absorbed by the wolf between whom I was now suspended, and I wanted warm arms to embrace me.There was a quick knock on the door while I was suspended between the valley of sleep and the world of the living.“Come in,” I answered sleepily. Alpha Kane opened the

Slowly pushing the door open, I stepped into the ladies' room. One of the stalls was occupied. I stood there for a moment until I heard her swearing from inside, followed by an agonized groan."Fuck! Argh!"Was she in pain? The agonized cry was like a needle piercing my heart, my legs moved of their own accord, and I knocked on the door cautiously."Zara?" My despair burst out before I could contain it."S...sir..." she answered painfully."Are you okay?" I placed my hand on the door and listened. There was a silence, as if she were trying to find the words before answering."Uh... actually, no..." She hesitated, and I knew she was embarrassed too. It was personal to women, and after all, I was her boss."Talk to me. I will help without judgment." I had to assure her that I would not allow anyone to embarrass her or make fun of what was completely natural.Silence again. I waited patiently."I promise this will stay between us," I spoke again, breaking the oppressive silence."My dres

  • The Billionaire Alpha Rejected His True Luna   Awkward Situation

A genuine grin tugged at Alpha Kane's lips, and he finally smiled, the tension fading a little as we walked down the stairs. What a beautiful smile Alpha had, softening the granite features of his face. He seemed boyish, almost sweet.Turning my gaze away from his handsome face, I focused it in front of me and saw six people seated at a white wooden table. Two women and four men, their eyes fixed on me.One woman, whom I assumed to be Martina, smiled meaningfully, while the other was reserved and distant. We stopped at the table, and Alpha Kane released my hand, walking toward the guests.Reluctantly, I moved forward as Alpha Kane introduced the guests, but my heart was pounding so loudly with excitement that all I could hear was the sound of it in my ears.I greeted them with a wide smile, and their faces brightened even more."Are you comfortable around people?" Nova asked me."If our Alpha is comfortable around humans, then so am I," I replied."Remember, I don't want any fuss arou
