Tessa's offer

"My offer is 1 million dollars," She said, making them glance at each other.

The boss laughed out loud like she had cracked a joke, but she looked perplexed.

"What do you think we're? We have done enough checks and we know you really don't have such money," the boss said with a serious tone.

"You don't have to hurry about asking Mr Henry anymore, I'll sort this out." Tessa said, trying to sit up well despite her hands being tied. "Loosen me up first and we discuss." She rolled her eyes.

"So how are you going to get us the money," the boss said as one of his lackeys loosened her up.

"Telephone, just a call." She said as she patted her dress.

"I'll hold onto it, call the number." He replied as he held up the receiver. Tessa called out her family telephone's number and after a few rings a voice sounded from the other end.

"I want to speak to Albert." Tessa spoke up.

"Who're you?" The voice replied, making her press her eyebrows together.

"Tell Albert, Tessa wants to speak to him." Tessa snapped as she watched the boss frown like he was already losing his patience.

"Just do it, it's an emergency," She slammed my hands on the table. There was no reply from the other end for about a minute.

"What happened?" The boss asked as he looked up at her, making her swallow hard.

"Nothing should go wrong?" She muttered as sweat trickled down her face and her heart raced.

But suddenly a voice sounded from the other end, "Tessa is that you?" The familiar voice asked as she heaved a silent sigh of relief.

"Yes I'm Tessa, I urgently need 1 million dollars in cash." She said in one breath as she looked up at the leader of the kidnappers.

"Alright ma'am, I'll do that immediately." Albert replied, leaving her a bit surprised.

'Lucky enough he didn't backstab me,' A cold shiver ran down her spine as she thought about what would happen if he had done that.

"Prepare the location it should be dropped at," she snapped at the leader of the kidnapper he had been caught up in a daze.

She sat on a chair, tapping her fingers on the table, observing the leader of the kidnappers pacing anxiously, Albert was taking long to call back.

"Why isn't he here yet?" He said as he slammed his hands on the table making her jerk a little.

As she wanted to speak, the telephone rang and he grabbed it immediately.

"I'm outside, alone with your money in cash." Tessa heard Albert speak from the other end. The boss signaled one of his men that walked up to Tessa and grabbed her arms.

She looked at him with surprise, "What are you…" She was interrupted when a cloth was pushed into her mouth and a blind fold was put over her eyes.

She was being led towards a direction and after a few mins of walking the man that was leading her whispered to her, "Now walk in a straight line down,"

Tessa continued walking until she felt a pair of hands on her shoulders. "It's fine now, you're safe." The familiar voice said, it was Albert. He removed the blind fold and also the clothes used to gag her mouth.

"It's fine now." Albert said as she opened her eyes. Behind him was a car ready to take her back. "Sorry for being a bit late," he added.

Albert was a head taller than Tessa with brown hairs and brown eyes he took from his mother. He had a calm and nerd looking look.

"What really happened?" He asked with curiosity etched in his voice as he opened the backseat door of the car.

"Thank you, Albert," she said as she walked towards the car. "Take me back home," she added, hopping in without answering his question.

The door closed, and Albert took the driver's seat, driving off. Glancing at her through the side mirror, he wondered what had really happened.

Tessa had been kidnapped? How was that possible? Where had she been all these years? The questions circled his mind as he drove into the airport.

"Why didn't you turn back on me? You prefer not having me back," Tessa asked looking at his eyes through the mirror.

"I couldn't do that Tessa." He said as he let out a deep breath. "You're a sister to me," He smiled as he turned off the engine of the car.

Black suited men walked towards the car and opened up the car doors, and flustered them as they stepped out.

"Mr Albert, a word with you."

"Who's the lady with you?"

"What's your thoughts on the economy?" The journalist shouted questions as they tried to approach him.

"The press is here? Why?" Albert asked one of the men as he looked around him.

"They want a word with your sir," the man replied as he glanced at Tessa. "Good day ma'am." He said to Tessa who nodded at him.

"Would you like to…" The bodyguard was suddenly interrupted by Tessa.

"Lead us through the crowd," Tessa turned to look at him. "Do not say anything to them, Albert" Tessa added with a straight face making the black suited man turn to Albert in surprise.

"You're still the same, Tessa. You still do not like social media and the press." Albert weakly smiled as he turned to the bodyguard. "Lead us through," he ordered.

The bodyguard was surprised that such an ordinary looking woman could order Albert, the famous billionaire. Even Albert's woman couldn't act that way. He led the Calloway family private jet and signaled for the pilot to lower the staircase.

"Miss Tessa," he held her hands as he helped her up the stairs of the private jet. In a few minutes, the jet took off on a journey back to Hawaii, the place of her birth.

After some hours, they arrived in Hawaii, and a Lamborghini was waiting for them when they stepped out of the private jet. It was late at night when the car drove them through the city of Hawaii.

"It's been three years," Albert said, breaking the silence as the driver pulled into the Calloway family estate.

"Three years it is," she replied, looking out of the tinted glasses. Not much had changed, and the memories of this place still lingered in her mind.

The car pulled up at the biggest mansion in the estate, and when she stepped out, black-suited men came to welcome them.

"Welcome back, boss," they greeted Albert as he nodded at them.

She stood there looking at the mansion in front of her, memories ran through her mind for a moment.

"Mom, dad, I'm back." She whispered as she pushed back tears that welled up at the corner of her eyes.

"Grandpa would like to see you, Miss Tessa." Albert said with a solemn expression. "He is very disappointed."

Tessa felt the back of her throat become dry and her palms of her hands became wet. She knew she couldn't hide her pregnancy from her grandpa, she had to let him know. Tessa let out a sigh as she walked towards the entrance of the elevator, she was ready to take any punishment for her unborn child.

"I'll like to meet him too." She muttered as she stepped into the elevator with Albert walking behind her.
