LOGINNoah POV:
For five years, I had imagined seeing Tracy again. Sometimes I pictured her angry, sometimes crying, and sometimes walking into my office to tell me everything had been a terrible mistake.
But I never imagined finding her in the hallway of an elementary school. She looked different, not because she wasn't beautiful, but because she carried a quiet strength that hadn't been there before. Still, I could see the sadness hidden in her brown eyes. "Hello, Noah," she said softly.
I swallowed before saying her name. "Tracy." For a few moments, we simply looked at each other while the busy hallway faded into the background. Five years of silence stood between us.
"I didn't expect to see you here," I finally said. "I work here," she replied.
My eyes fell on the name tag pinned to her blouse. Tracy Carter, Music Teacher.
"You teach music?" I asked. She nodded. "I've been here for almost four years."
I wanted to ask where she had been, if she was happy, or if she had ever thought about me.
Instead, all I managed to say was, "You look well." A faint smile crossed her face. "I've had to learn how to be."
Before I could answer, a little boy came running toward her. "Mom!" he called happily, holding a drawing in his hand.
He couldn't have been more than five years old. He hugged her tightly and said, "I got first place in the art contest!"
Tracy's whole face lit up with a smile that took my breath away. She hugged him back and praised him before looking at the drawing. "You even remembered my curly hair," she laughed.
"I forgot your earrings," the boy said. "That's okay. You can draw them next time."
I couldn't help smiling as I watched him. He was bright, cheerful, and full of confidence. Tracy rested her hand on his shoulder. "This is my son, Samuel."
Then she looked at him. "Samuel, this is an old friend." Those words hurt more than I expected.
Samuel smiled politely and held out his hand. "Nice to meet you, Mister." I shook his small hand. "Nice to meet you too, Samuel."
The moment I looked into Samuel's face, something inside me stopped. His bright blue eyes were the exact same color as mine. I frowned, telling myself it had to be a coincidence. Lots of people had blue eyes, but then he smiled, my heart skipped a beat. The little dimple on his left cheek and the shape of his smile looked painfully familiar. I had seen that same smile every morning in my own reflection. No... I quickly looked away.
Tracy seemed to notice and gently touched Samuel's shoulder.
"Sweetheart, why don't you go back to your class? I'll be there in a minute." "Okay!" he said before waving at me. "Bye, Mister!" "Bye," I replied as he ran down the hallway.
I watched him disappear, unable to calm the strange feeling inside me. Tracy folded her arms. "I should go." "Wait," I said. She stopped. "Is he..." The question got stuck in my throat because I wasn't even sure what I wanted to ask.
She looked straight into my eyes. "What?" I slowly shook my head. "Nothing." For a brief second, relief flashed across her face before it disappeared.
"My students are waiting," she said as she turned to leave. "Tracy." She looked back.
The apology felt heavy inside me. "I'm sorry." She held my eyes for a long moment before giving me a small, tired smile. "Those words would have meant everything five years ago."
Then she walked away. I stood there, watching her disappear into the classroom.
I had built billion-dollar companies, closed impossible deals, and faced powerful enemies without fear. But at that moment, I had never felt so helpless.
An hour later, Family Day was over. Children filled the school entrance, laughing as they ran to their parents and climbed into waiting cars. I stayed near the front of the school, greeting teachers and families as they left.
Claire walked over and said, "Everything went well." I barely heard her because my eyes were searching the crowd. Then I saw Tracy. She was helping Samuel put on his backpack. He looked up at her with a bright smile, and she laughed before gently kissing the top of his head. The sight stirred something deep inside me. It looked like the life I had once dreamed of, a family. My family.
I quickly pushed the thought away. Stop it, Noah. You're imagining things. Tracy took Samuel's hand and started walking toward the parking lot.
As they passed me, Samuel looked up and smiled. "Bye, Mister Noah!" I smiled back. "Goodbye, Samuel."
He tilted his head and said proudly, "Mom says it's rude not to say goodbye."
I let out a small laugh. "Your mom taught you well."
Samuel grinned even wider. "I know. She's the smartest person ever."
Tracy looked slightly embarrassed. "Samuel" He shrugged with an innocent smile. "What? I'm only telling the truth."
I laughed, a real laugh that I hadn't felt in years. Tracy noticed, and for one brief moment, she smiled too. But the smile quickly faded.
She gently held Samuel's hand and continued toward the parking lot. I stood there watching them leave, just as I had watched Tracy walk away five years ago. But this time, something felt different, and I couldn't explain why.
"Sir?" My longtime driver, Harris, stepped up beside me. "Yes?" I answered without taking my eyes off Tracy and Samuel as they got into an old blue sedan.
Harris watched them for a moment before speaking quietly. "That little boy" I followed his gaze. "What about him?" He paused as if choosing his words carefully.
"I've worked for the Kingston family for almost thirty years." I nodded. "I know." He continued, "I've watched every generation of your family grow up." I frowned. "So?"
Harris looked at me with a serious expression. "That boy has the Kingston family eyes."
My heart seemed to stop. "What did you say?" I asked.
Harris answered calmly, "The same blue eyes your grandfather had and your father too."
My throat went dry. I looked back at the little boy laughing through the car window. For the first time, I wasn't looking at him as someone else's child. I was looking at him with questions I couldn't ignore.
The thought felt impossible, frightening, and life-changing all at once. As Tracy's car slowly disappeared down the road, only one question stayed in my mind. Who is Samuel Carter and why does he look so much like me?
Tracy POV:“Bring me the card, Tracy.”The voice came from the darkness, sending a chill through me. “Or you'll never discover why you were chosen.” My heart raced as I struggled to see anything around me.“Noah?” I called. “I’m here,” he answered, finding my hand. “Don’t move.”Moments later, the emergency lights flickered on, revealing the room again. But Victor was gone. Noah’s security team rushed in and immediately began checking every entrance. I looked down at the memory card in my hand, Victor already knew we had it. There was no reason to hide it anymore he had Samuel, and he had deliberately led us here.Noah looked at me. “We’re going to the estate.” I nodded. “Together.” He squeezed my hand. “Together.”His mother stood quietly near the stairs, none of us needed to explain what had happened to Samuel, we already knew the truth. Noah’s mother had taken Samuel first because she believed she was protecting him, and after she released him, Victor had taken him from us.Now we
Tracy POV:"On someone who is still inside my family." Noah's words stayed in my mind. I stared at him, waiting for an answer. "Who?" I finally asked. He hesitated before telling me that there was only one person he remembered wearing that watch, his uncle, Victor Kingston."I've never met your uncle," I said. Noah explained that I wouldn't have because Victor had stayed away from the family after his father disappeared. "Does he still live here?" I asked. "No.I don't even know where he is." He looked at the photograph again, especially the scarred hand and silver watch. "Then how are you going to find him?" I asked. Noah took out his phone and made a call. "Find everything you can on Victor Kingston." After ending the call, I asked about Victor's relationship with his father.Noah's expression changed. His father had accused Victor of stealing from the company, and only two days later, his father disappeared. "You think your uncle had something to do with it?" I asked. "I don't know
Tracy POV:Someone knew I was pregnant before I even knew myself. The thought stayed in my mind as I stared at the black computer screen. Noah was still holding my hand."We're going to find out." I looked at him. "But how?" "I don't know yet."He glanced around the study. "Whoever created these records wanted us to discover them." "Why?" I asked. "Because they want us to know something."But I couldn't stop wondering if it was another lie meant to send us in the wrong direction. I admitted that I didn't know what to believe anymore.Noah stepped closer and asked me to believe him. I wanted to, but five years of pain couldn't disappear overnight. When I reminded him that he had hurt me before, he promised he would prove himself instead of simply asking me to trust his words. I told him I needed time, trust, and the freedom to make my own decisions. Noah agreed that from then on, we would make decisions together. For the first time in a long while, I allowed myself a small smile at the
Tracy POV:“Help Mom.”I couldn't take my eyes off the words written on the photograph, my hands were shaking.Samuel had written that message, and Noah agreed that he had. “He knows something,” I said. “Maybe more than we think,” Noah replied.I looked at the picture again, Samuel was sitting beside Noah's mother while Daniel stood behind him. Somehow, my son had hidden a message from them. He was afraid and asking me to help him.I looked at Noah. “We're going.” He nodded. “Tonight.”Before I could move, he caught my hand. “Stay beside me, Tracy.” I promised I would. He told me not to leave his side, especially if his mother tried to separate us. I told him I wouldn't. He smiled and called me his girl.I reminded him I wasn't his property. He said he knew, but I was the woman he loved. My heart skipped. When he told me he loved me, I admitted that I loved him too. Then he kissed me gently. There was no anger or fear in the kiss, only the feeling of two people who had spent five year
Tracy POV:“My father is alive?” The words barely left my lips. Claire smiled like she had been waiting years for this moment. “Yes.”I kept shaking my head, unable to accept it. Behind her, the two-armed men stood quietly. Noah immediately stepped in front of me. “Don't come any closer.” Claire folded her arms. “Still protecting her.”Noah's voice was cold. “You betrayed me.” “I served the person who deserved my loyalty.” “My mother.” Claire smiled. “You finally understand.”I couldn't stop staring at the photograph on her phone. It showed a newborn baby in my father's arms. He looked older than the father I remembered, but there was no mistake. The same warm eyes, the same scar above his eyebrow, the man I had cried for all these years was alive.“Noah…” My voice broke. “That's really him.” Noah looked at the picture, then at Claire. “Where did you get that?” “From someone who has hidden the truth better than all of you.” “Where is Tracy's father?”Claire tilted her head. “Alive.” “
Tracy POV:“Samuel wasn't the only baby born that night.” The words slipped from my mouth, and the room went silent. I stared at the frozen video while my heart raced. Noah looked at me.“What?” I shook my head. “Samuel wasn't born that night.” “I know.” “He was born months later.” “I know, Tracy.” I pointed at the screen. “Then why does that video show a baby with our names?”Noah looked at the screen again. “I don't know.” I wrapped my arms around myself, nothing made sense. “Then we'll make it make sense,” he said.He stepped closer, and I looked at him. “You believe me?” His eyes softened. “I believe you.”Even after everything. Even after five years of lies. He still believed me. A tear slipped down my cheek, and he gently wiped it away. “We're going to find out what happened.” “But what if this is another trap?” “It probably is.” I frowned. “Then why are we watching it?” He pointed at the screen.“Because whoever made this mistake gave us a clue.” “What clue?” “The date.” I look
