38. HINTS OF SOMETHING

I WAS SHOCKED to see Aunt Yna so early in the morning. I was about to say something and step outside of our room when I realized that I only had my robe on and then nothing underneath.

“Good morning, Aunt Yna,” I mumbled just moments after she told me that there was something I must know about. “Did you sleep well? Did you already have your rooms booked after the wedding reception? I’m sorry I couldn’t get back to you last night I didn’t realize I already had too many drinks. I would have checked if the other guest also had a good sleep and were, accommodated—”

“Esmé, dear,” Aunt Yna stopped me from talking. She nodded and touched my hand “We had our own room on the ground floor, complete with great amenities so much that my husband is still sleeping as we talk.”

“Oh,” I said smiling. “Good to hear that.”

“Anyway… I am here to have a talk with you.”
