The Billionaire’s Wife by Mistake is a deep romantic novel that delves into the depths of the human soul and explores the journey of a young woman named Eliana Rossi, an Italian artist who inherited from her father a spirit of creativity and love for colors. Yet, she finds herself forcibly confronted with a harsh reality that imposed upon her a decision she never chose—a contractual marriage with Alexander von Reinhardt, the cold billionaire and sole heir to a vast financial empire. The novel begins in London, where Eliana spends her days in a small workshop restoring antique paintings, trying to preserve her father's legacy and his love for art amid heavy debts and financial burdens threatening to seize the family's small home in Italy. On the other side of the story, Alexander emerges as a complex character: a successful man in the world of finance and business, but his personal life is filled with loneliness and rigidity, surrounded by family pressure that demands he marry before turning thirty-five, or else the management of the family empire will pass to his ambitious cousin. Eliana and Alexander’s paths intersect unexpectedly in a luxurious hotel in London, where a series of events force them into a one-year contractual marriage, conditioned on no feelings of love or emotional commitment, in exchange for a large sum of money ensuring Eliana can keep her family home and pay off her debts. The couple embarks on their journey under the same roof, yet with distant hearts, each trying to maintain their coldness and caution.

Chapter 1

Chapter One: Eliana's Life and Alexander's Arrival

London, on autumn mornings, wore a cold grey that mirrored the stillness of Eliana Rossi's life — a stillness that had settled over her ever since her father's death two years before.

Eliana was a twenty-seven-year-old Italian woman working in a small workshop specializing in the restoration of old paintings, tucked into a quiet corner of Chelsea. She spent long hours every day bent over an old wooden table, coaxing lost brilliance back into faded colors, and breathing something of a vanished soul back into painted faces.

She didn't do this work simply because it was her profession — it was the one thing she had left of her father, the poor Italian painter who had taught her since childhood that colors speak a language only the heart can hear. Yet each brushstroke also reminded her of what she had lost: the scent of turpentine in their tiny studio, his rough hands guiding hers, and the quiet laughter that once filled their cramped kitchen. Those memories were both comfort and wound, and she carried them through every lonely London street she walked.

Her father had died suddenly, leaving behind heavy debts, a small house in a coastal Italian village that had nearly been seized, and a trail of vague memories that haunted her every time she tried to piece together the last years of his life. All she ever found was long silence, and old papers she'd never had the courage to read in full.

At the very same time, a few miles away, another name was making the rounds of every financial paper in Europe: Alexander von Reinhardt.

Alexander was thirty-four, heir to a vast investment empire stretching from London to Zurich to Berlin. He'd been born into marble and gold, raised on a single unshakable principle: Trust is weakness. Love is a loss no balance sheet accounts for.

To everyone around him he was a cold man, ruthless in his decisions, never one to give second chances. And yet, beneath the ice that coated his features, lay a deep loneliness he'd never once dared to admit to. He spent his nights in penthouse suites, staring at city lights that offered no warmth, and his days closing deals that left him emptier than before.

One day, Alexander was summoned to an emergency family meeting his father had called at one of London's finest hotels. It wasn't an ordinary meeting — it was, in effect, a final warning.

"If you're not married by your thirty-fifth birthday," his father told him, in a voice that brooked no argument, "control of the larger share of the family empire goes to your cousin Lucas."

It wasn't entirely a shock — the family had been hinting at it for months. But turning marriage into a proof of worth lit something in Alexander: quiet fury and quiet defiance, both at once.

He left the meeting thinking the way he thought through every deal: cold, practical. If marriage is the condition, then let it be another transaction. A one-year marriage. No love in it, no real commitment, no questions about the past. He would find a suitable woman, draw up an ironclad contract, and reclaim his birthright without a single emotional entanglement.

The idea sat there in his mind, simple and clear.

What he didn't know was that fate had a meeting in store for him that no contract, however carefully worded, could ever contain.
