Chapter 5

Katiya screamed in fear and shifted back, but she was stopped by the wall. It was a dead end. She screamed "HELP," in fear multiple times as the men inched closer to her, but there was no one to hear her pleas.

The leader got to her and knelt while he parted her legs, ordering his men to hold her in place as she was squirming and struggling to break free like an earthworm who came in contact with salt.

Placing a finger against her underwear, he caressed it and then brought it to his nostrils, smiling as he inhaled it, moaning “fresh meat,” in her ears.

He opened his trousers, revealing his wide cock, and was about to shift her panties and slide them in when a bright light landed on his cock.

"FUCK!" The gang leader cursed, embarrassed and scared as he noticed someone was coming. It was his turf! No one dared come here! Not even the police!

"RETREAT!!!" he ordered, and the men dispersed like ants, not wanting to be apprehended by the anonymous group silently operating in Neuro.

Katiya heaved a sigh of relief and screamed at the top of her lungs, "HELP ME!" The car that drove into the alleyway stopped and parked a few meters away from her.

A burly young man stepped out of the car and walked up to her. Seeing her in a battered state, he ran to her and supported her. "Did they hurt you?" He asked, worried.

Katiya shook her head, muttering a few incoherent words until darkness engulfed her, and she fainted due to the stress. The man carried her in his arms, then into the backseat of the car, and drove off into the dark night.

“Where am I?” Katiya sprang up from the bed the next morning, looking around with a very confused expression.

“You're awake,” a young lady came in with a bag then placed it next to her before saying good morning.

“Where am I?” Katiya asked again, and the lady sighed, giving her a cup of water first.

“The boss saved you from those scoundrels,” the young woman answered and there was distaste laced in her words as she mentioned those bad guys, causing Katiya to gasp and wrap her arms around herself protectively.

“Don't worry, no one touched you or saw your nakedness except for me,” the maid added after seeing that Katiya turned pale and began to tremble slightly.

Katiya just gave her a small smile, and she slowly drank from the cup, using the corner to assess her surroundings. “It is almost the same size as Alexia's room back at home,” she exclaimed in her subconscious, wondering what kind of rich she had bumped into now. It couldn't be that guy she slept with… right?

“The bath is ready,” the lady snapped Katiya out of her thoughts and she nodded before stepping out of bed and onto the cold tiles. After taking a luxurious bath, she was met with a whole load of clothes, none of which she had brought from Oscaria, so she figured those belongings were gone.

“These are yours, ma'am,” the lady said with a smile, and Katiya had shock written all over her.

“For me?” Katiya was forced to ask again, and the lady replied with a nod, asking her to check them out.

Katiya's voice wavered as she glanced at the expensive-looking clothes laid out before her. They were nothing like the worn-out garments she had been wearing all her life. "I... I can't accept these," she stammered, feeling a pang of guilt at the thought of being given such lavish items by a stranger.

The young lady, whose name Katiya still didn't know, simply smiled warmly. "Please, ma'am, the boss insisted. He wants you to feel comfortable and taken care of during your stay here."

Still feeling uncertain, Katiya hesitated before tentatively reaching out to touch the fabric of one of the dresses. It was soft and luxurious under her fingertips, a stark contrast to the rough material of her old clothes. "But why would he do this for me?" she murmured, more to herself than to the lady.

The maid's smile widened. "He's a kind man, despite his tough exterior. And he doesn't like to see anyone in distress, especially not a young woman like yourself."

Katiya's heart swelled with gratitude at the thought of someone being so compassionate towards her. She knew she had been lucky to encounter this mysterious benefactor when she had been at her most vulnerable. "Well, please thank him for me," she said softly, finally giving in to the urge to try on one of the outfits.

As she slipped into the clothes, she couldn't help but marvel at how perfectly they fit her. It was as if they had been tailored specifically for her, which only added to her disbelief. "They're beautiful," she whispered, her fingers tracing the intricate embroidery on the bodice of the dress.

The maid beamed with pride. "I'm glad you like them, ma'am. Now, shall we head downstairs for breakfast? The boss and his wife are waiting for you."

Katiya nodded eagerly, eager to meet the people who had shown her such kindness. As Katiya descended the grand staircase, she couldn't help but marvel at the opulence of her surroundings. The mansion exuded an air of wealth and sophistication that she had only ever seen in movies or read about in books. Each step she took seemed to echo through the spacious foyer, serving as a reminder of just how far removed she was from her humble beginnings in Oscaria.

At the bottom of the staircase, she was greeted by the sight of the man who had saved her the night before. He stood tall and imposing, with a ruggedness that hinted at a life lived on the edge. Despite the lines etched into his face and the gruffness of his demeanor, there was a kindness in his eyes that immediately put Katiya at ease.

Beside him sat a woman in a wheelchair, her presence commanding respect despite her physical limitations. She exuded an aura of grace and dignity, her gaze filled with warmth as she looked upon Katiya with curiosity.

"Good morning," the man greeted, his voice deep and gravelly. "I trust you slept well?"

Katiya nodded, feeling a sense of gratitude wash over her once again. "Yes, thank you, sir. I can't begin to express how grateful I am for everything you've done for me."

The man waved off her thanks with a dismissive gesture. "Think nothing of it. It was the least I could do."

Katiya's eyes then shifted to the woman in the wheelchair, who smiled warmly at her. "And who might you be, dear?" she asked, her voice soft and gentle.

"I'm Katiya," she replied, returning the smile. "Katiya Richmond."

The woman's eyes sparkled with recognition. "Ah, the young woman my husband rescued last night. It's a pleasure to finally meet you, my dear."

Katiya felt a blush creep into her cheeks at the woman's kind words. "The pleasure is mine, Mrs...?"

"Please, call me Elena," the woman said, her smile widening. "And this grumpy old bear beside me is my husband, Paul Smith."

Paul grunted in acknowledgment, though there was a twinkle of amusement in his eyes as he regarded Katiya. "So, Katiya Richmond, what brings you to our humble country?"

Katiya hesitated, unsure of how much to reveal about her situation. But something in Paul's demeanor put her at ease, and she found herself opening up to him about her troubled past and what made her fall victim to those men the previous night. Although she left out a few details.

To her surprise, Paul listened intently, his expression softening with empathy. "You've been through quite a lot, my dear," he said solemnly. "But fear not, you're safe here with us. I'm guessing you're going to need a job and a place to stay?”

Katiya's eyes were filled with hope as she heard his question, and she replied, “I do need one to sustain myself here in Hillcrest.”

“If you're feeling up to it, you can join me in the office later today, and we'll see if we can find a position for you, Miss Richmond. And if you don't mind, you can live with us for the time being. My wife seems to like your company. What do you say about that?”

“Yes!” Katiya beamed with excitement, almost kneeling to the couple just to show her appreciation. Breakfast was served almost immediately and, for the first time in years, Katiya ate food without rushing or fear.

The maid, after serving, took the trays to the kitchen and grabbed the phone to place a call.

“Good morning boss. Subject 190 has agreed to the conditions. The plan is in motion.”
