Leah's POV
"Leah!" I heard Aiden’s voice call after me but I didn’t stop. I couldn’t. My legs moved faster than my thoughts and all I just wanted was to get away from all of them—him, Talia, Cassian… myself. I wasn’t even sure what I was running from anymore. The kiss. God, the kiss. Why did I let Cassian kiss me? Why did I let myself kiss him back? This wasn't part of the plan. I reached the driveway and quickly signaled my driver to get the car started, but Aiden caught up with me before I could open the door. He pulled my wrist. “Can you just listen to me?” he asked, his voice low, pleading. I turned slowly, blinking through the tears already burning at the back of my eyes. "Listen to what, Aiden? What exactly am I supposed to listen to? That you’ve been working with Talia behind my back? That you’ve been lying to me this whole time?” I tried to pull away, but he held on. “Leah, I didn’t lie to you—” “You didn’t lie?” I laughed in shock. “You used me. Just like your brother did. You helped just go get what you want.” He looked at me and fling my hand violently. “Are you serious right now! Maybe saving you five years ago was a mistake. If I had known you were going to act like this, maybe I should’ve just left you and your son to die” I stumbled back in shock. He kept going. “I spent over twenty thousand dollars on you. Your son. Your stupid surgery. I made sure you had the best care—” “Don’t,” I whispered. My voice trembled. “Don’t you dare throw that in my face.” “Why not? All it took was ten seconds with Talia for you to forget everything I did for you over five years. Ten seconds, Leah.” I shook my head, swallowing the lump in my throat. “It wasn’t about Talia. It was about you. About you not being open. About the way I stood there like a fool finding out it was all you and Talia's plan to use me.” He scoffed. “Really! You know what? To hell with what you think. Maybe you don’t deserve an explanation. You never wanted to hear the truth anyway.” He took a step closer. “Your heart’s always been with Cassian. That much is obvious. The second you saw him, you couldn’t wait to fall back into his arms.” “That’s not—” “You kissed him and you enjoyed it” he snapped. “Don’t deny it. You kissed him like if he asks you to come back, you would graciously run into his hands. And guess what, he’ll use you, Leah. He’ll break you again. Just like before. Mark my words.” He turned and walked away. I stood there in disbelief, then climbed into the backseat of the car and told the driver to go. Anywhere. I didn’t even know what direction I was heading. I just needed to breathe. To think. To stop thinking. But the tears wouldn’t stop. I hated this. Hated feeling so damn confused. My head was a mess—Cassian’s kiss, Aiden’s betrayal, it was all just too much. Why did I kiss him? Why did I enjoy it? I pressed my forehead against the window, trying to shift my thoughts on Liam. My son. I needed to see him. Only he could calm my heart now. The driver pulled up to the house and I stumbled out, barely mumbling a thank you. The nanny said he hadn’t eaten much, just sat playing by himself. I pushed the door open and found him on the rug, pushing his toy car across the floor. He looked up at me. “Mommy, when will my daddy be coming?” I blinked. “What?” “Dylan’s daddy bought him a car,” he said, while shoving his toy. “He said his daddy bought it from the shop. When will my daddy b3 coming to buy me a car too?.” I smiled tightly and sat beside him. “I’ll get you one. Or maybe Uncle Aiden will—” “I don’t want Aiden!” he shouted suddenly, eyes wide and angry. “I want my daddy! Why can't I have a daddy, the man at the airport can be my daddy!” “Liam—” I said in trembling voice but he was barely listening. “ I want a daddy too, I don't want a toy!” He cried out while rolling on the floor. I came closer to him and held him tightly. And all I could mutter was sorry, I had never seen him react this way before. After managing to put him to sleep, I left the room, hand over my mouth trying to control the sob Maybe… maybe I was the selfish one. Maybe Aiden was right. I am selfish. My stupid obsession for revenge had blinded me not to see that Liam needed a father. I wanted to hurt Cassian the way he hurt me. I wanted him to suffer, to feel abandoned. But in doing that… I had stolen something from my own child. Liam deserved to know who he was. He deserved a father. No matter what Cassian did to me, Liam had a right to the truth. He needed to meet him. And Cassain had the right to know, he wronged me and not Liam, Liam should never suffer for that I wiped my face and sat down on the couch, my heart still pounding. Tomorrow… I would tell Cassian the truth. About Liam. About everything.Leah's POV"Leah!"I heard Aiden’s voice call after me but I didn’t stop. I couldn’t. Cassian POVI grabbed her by the waist and kissed her.I didn’t stop to think. Didn’t care about logic or restraint. I just needed to feel her. My wife.It was reckless. Raw. Wild. Her body stiffened.I braced for the slap. But she didn’t pull away. Not at first. For one fragile second—she kissed me back. And for that single moment, my world stopped.I could feel her heart racing. Her breath mixed with mine. Her hands gripped my coat tightly. It was her.For five years I thought I was the reason she died, seeing the DNA result relieved me in ways I cannot explain. Then a voice interrupted us“Am I interrupting something?” Talia asked. We both froze.I turned slowly. And I saw Talia, she was a few feet away.Leah…sorry Raven or whatever name she chose to answer, Pulled away instantly, a bit flustered and slapped me across the face. The sound echoed.Hard.I didn’t move. She didn’t say anything. She just walked away, flustered, and confused, Aiden running after her.I stood there, breat
LeahI heard the door open and I didn’t need a soothsayer to tell me that it was Aiden, his strong cologne always had a way of announcing him.“You look good,” he said.I forced a smile. “Thanks,” I murmured, closing the door behind him.He moved toward the armchair.“So... how did the meeting go, with my brother?” he asked, as he sat down.“Horrible,” I said while gulping a bottle of water, hoping he wouldn't ask further.“Seriously?, I want details, Leah.”I hesitated, then walked to him and stood close. “He saw Liam.”His whole posture shifted. “He what?”“He saw Liam at the airport.” My voice trembled. “I didn’t think—”“Leah…” Aiden ran a hand through his hair. “ You see why I insisted Liam should have just stayed in Tokyo.”I sighed, as I moved closer to him and placed my hand gently on his knee. “Aiden.”I looked up at him, hoping he would see the pain in my eyes. “Can we forget about everything and live quietly? Just you, me and Liam.”He stared at me for a long moment before
DNA Cassian POV I heard a voice.“Daddy!”I looked up, expecting a mistake. A case of mistaken identity. But the boy ran straight to me, laughing as he hugged my leg.I stared down, in disbelief. He looked like me.The resemblance wasn't just the usual one. The shape of his eyes. The tilt of his chin. The dark curls. It felt as if I was staring at a five year old me.“Liam!” A woman shouted.I knew the voice before I saw her.It sounded like Leah.No—Raven.“I’m so sorry. He does this sometimes—runs to strangers and calls them daddy.” She grabbed his hand.“Liam, we talked about this, remember?”He looked up at her, confused. “But—”“No buts,” she said as she dragged him away.I just stared at the boy.The boy was four. Maybe five.I barely had time to process everything before I heard Talias voice.“ Cass”She shouted as she exited the terminal, dragging two designer bags behind her and wearing a scowl.“Seriously, Cassian?” she snapped. “You couldn’t even come inside?”“I was dela
Five years Leah’s POV Five years. That’s how long it took to kill Leah Quinn and become Raven Vale. Five years of surgeries, speech lessons, sleepless nights, and therapy sessions that never worked. Five years of learning how to live again. And it was all thanks to Aiden who helped me. But that was a story for another day. The elevator dinged on the 34th floor and the door opened, Cassian's office. The secretary stood to greet me. “Good day ma'am , do you have an appointment?” I nodded. “ I am Raven Vale. His new partner. He scheduled a meeting with me by 10:am.” She pointed toward the door at the end of the hallway. “He’s expecting you.” I smiled as I walked towards his office. I knocked once, then twice. No answer. Then finally, a deep voice. “Come in.” I opened the door and stepped in. He looked up. Our eyes met. And for one fleeting second, I forgot the script. Forgot every rehearsed line, every ounce of calmness I had practiced. He looked different. “Mr. Wo
The Night that ended it allLeah’s POV“Where is he?” I asked Nia, scanning the ballroom.“Leah… he’s been avoiding you all evening, are you sure everything is alright?"" Everything is alright." I muttered as I kept walking. I had to find Cassian as soon as possible.Tonight wasn’t just about our anniversary—because there wouldn’t be any if I didnt tell him that I was pregnant before he climbed the stage.Five hours ago, I woke up to a divorce paper. No note. No explanation. And since then, he has been avoiding me.I squeezed through the crowd in my red dress, the dress he used to say made me look like his queen. Then I saw Cassian.Standing near the stage, talking to his mother-Vivienne. He looked my way—and then he turned his face immediately.“Cassian,” I called out his name.He didn’t turn.Instead, he walked up to the stage. He took the mic from the announcer abruptly.“I appreciate everyone here tonight,” he began. “Your presence means the world to me.” Then he paused.“This e
