Goodbye

"You think so?" Came his sudden question

"I know so!"

There was no option for contemplation, she knew it was their last because her dad was a man of his word and his decisions were final.

"That's good!" He sounds over the wall.

Daisy breaks a million times hearing his nonchalant response.

"Yeah, it is" she agrees. "Maybe I should just give in, it's not like I've got other choices" she mumbled to herself.

"Now that I'm leaving, won't you mind telling me your name?" Daisy demands, "If I can't see your face, it's better I know your name, at least"

"My name??" He repeats to himself

Daisy waits patiently for him to speak up but he never does. Instead, she heard another voice

"Here you are, I've been looking for you everywhere!"

A female voice spoke out, Daisy could hear the sound of heels against the floor. It was so loud that it echoed throughout the rooftop.

Hearing that, Daisy felt so foolish for thinking they could be something. From the sound of the lady's voice, they could be couples or if not, something closer to that.

"Felt hot inside, so I decided to get some fresh air!" He responded, voice more friendly than that he always used on her

"I see, I'll join you then. It's been a hell in there anyways!" The female voice speaks.

"No matter how hard I try, nothing will ever be mine". Daisy cries in silence.

She has never been able to boast of anything, not her parents or wealth, nor the strange guy she has been talking to and for some reason, had fallen in love with.

Accepting her fate, she wipes away her tears and pushes herself up to her feet. There's no need to say goodbye, she said it already.

Even if she wishes to say it, again! She can't because he's busy and doesn't have her time as compared to the way he did.

She carries her helpless self down the rooftop, to her house. There's nothing else she can do but cry.

By the time he was done talking, Daisy was long gone but he had no clue as he called out

"Hey, are you there? "

He calls out three times but receives no response,

"My name is, Dave... Dave Milton and I wish I could get yours at least" he said in a whisper but it was too late.

"Daisy?" Mrs. Bella calls out, opens the door and walks into Daisy's room. She was surprised to see Daisy lying on the bed.

"How come you are here? Didn't you leave as planned?" She asked, heading to the bed.

No response came from Daisy, Mrs Bella couldn't help but worry.

"You can talk to me" Mrs Bella reminds.

Daisy turns to her, "Why is everyone too busy to fit into my life? Why am I too boring to be loved? " She demands in tears

Mrs Bella could tell something was wrong with the way she sounded so broken.

" Mrs Bella? " Daisy calls out all of a sudden, eyes shining so bright

" I can't fight this anymore, I give up. " Daisy said in defeat.

Mrs. Bella pulls her in for a tight hug, She doesn't know what happened but to think she has decided not to fight with her father, is the best choice ever.

"It's hopeless fighting, no one will hear me anyway."

After a long time of comforting her, she was able to calm down. Thank God for sleep. Mrs. Bella helped her rest well on the bed and placed the covers over her before leaving the room.

Closing the door behind, she was welcomed by Mrs Smith, standing a few steps away from the door.

"Mrs Bella?" Mrs Smith calls out seeing she wasn't ready to give her attention.

"What more do you want from me? You heard her, she gave up... She's given in as you wished" Mrs Bella said.

Mrs Smith nods and takes a few strides closer. "I know, I overheard you two talk"

Mrs Bella turned to leave but was held back by Mrs Smith.

"I'm sorry you had to do this for me" Mrs Smith felt guilty for making Mrs Bella talk Daisy into letting go.

Mrs Bella pulls away, "I didn't do it, she decided to."

Mrs Smith nods, "Still, thank you. It's all possible because of you"

Mrs. Bella walks three steps away but stops and turns to her, "You might be able to solve it temporarily, but that doesn't guarantee your freedom and happiness. Work on yourself!" With that, she walks away.

" I'll try! " Mrs Smith mutters under her breath and leaves in the other direction.

She walks into a room where Mr Smith is seen sitting on the sofa, staring at nothing.

"Hope that annoying child of yours has agreed else, I'll kick her out of this mansion" Mr Smith mentioned.

" You don't need to, she's agreed to play by your rules" Mrs Smith informs.

" Better! " Mr Smith groans.

"How long will this go on?" Mrs Smith questions, "How many more years would I be bound to you, deprived of my life and happiness while being yours go toy with?"

Mr Smith's face twists in displeasure, and he turns to her. " For as long as I feel satisfied. Doesn't matter if it's years, I'm pretty sure you felt no remorse in toying with me for fifteen years. So don't you ever ask me when! "

"I didn't do that to hurt you, I was concerned about you," Mrs Smith said, voice soft and teary.

" Concern? Nope, I don't think so. If you were truly concerned then that would've been better. But you, you will never care or love anyone other than yourself" Mr Smith said without batting an eye.

Mrs. Smith felt her heart tighten at his words, She knew she deserved it but her daughter didn't deserve any of it

"why do you punish her then, it's my cross, why don't you let me carry it along? " She demands.

Mr Smith let out a mockery chuckle," What joy will it bring if I let the daughter go and hold the mother hostage? "
