SIENNA THORNE
My father's head snapped back as if he had just been slapped and I would have smirked at his stunned expression if I wasn't so broken.
How could Xander betray me like this? And with Diane of all people?
“I don't know what you're talking about Sienna. There must be some kind of mistake.” Xander said, breaking the silence that had descended on the room after my outburst.
“What are you going to say next? It was Ai, right?” I asked, sarcasm dripping from every word.
Xander nodded. “Exactly! You know I could never cheat on you.”
I scoffed and turned to my father who was still standing there shocked. “How come you have nothing to say?” A laugh escaped my lips.
“Babe let's talk about this in our bedroom, we shouldn't do this with people here.”
What an ass. “Everyone here has seen your video Xander, it's out there for the world to see.”
He glared at me and then turned on heels and marched towards the door.
I shook my head and looked away, brushing away the tears on my face.
“Everybody gets out, the show is over!” He yelled but no one moved.
I decided not to say anything, too weak to do anything.
Looking through the crowd, I couldn't find Diane anywhere and my eyebrows raised.
Where did the witch go?
“I said leave!” He yelled again and immediately everyone began scrambling.
I just stood there and watched as all my hard work went down the drain.
So much for a beautiful life with Xander full of love. He had been seeking solace in the arms of my stepmother.
So gross.
“How dare you air our dirty laundry out in public like that?” My father asked as soon as Xander slammed the door once the last of the guests had left.
“How could you be blaming me right now??” I asked, shaking my head in disbelief. “Your son-in-law slept with your wife!!” I was fuming now.
His eyes grew dim and he let out a weak sigh. “Still, we could have found a way to handle things. Now the rest of the world is going to see how dysfunctional our family is,”
My heart stopped as I stared at the man. Tears pricked the back of my eyes but I refused to give in.
“Father,” I started to say once I managed to get my emotions under control. “My husband, your son-in-law has just walked all over me and you're blaming me for ruining the family name?” A bitter laugh flew past my lips.
“You're unbelievable dad! When are you ever going to take my side? When are you going to ask me how I'm doing first before you think about your precious reputation?”
I was crying now, the tears no longer interested in staying put were now rolling down my cheeks. “My husband has just hurt in the worst way possible and all you care about is your image and what people will say.”
“Our name is all we have Sienna, you know this. We can rebuke Xander within the family.”
We?
“After all he's a man and they do these things from time to time.”
My hands itched to slap him but I held back. No matter how much of an insensitive dickhead he was being, he was still my father.
I walked towards the door, my steps unsure. I didn't know where I was headed but I knew I had to get away from this place.
With that in mind, I opened the door and walked out.
“Sienna, don't be so dramatic! Xander hasn't done anything strange just come back here let's discuss it.” My dad called after me but I ignored him.
I didn't stop and just kept walking. A million thoughts were running through my mind and my heart which I had laid down at Xander's feet was now shattered into a million pieces.
Of all the ways he could have chosen to hurt me, this one hit the hardest.
Diane and I had a hate relationship and it had been that way right from when she walked into our lives and sank her claws into my father.
From the beginning I had seen her for the snake she was but my father had been blinded by grief for my mother, his late wife that he let her in so easily.
When I looked up again, I was standing in front of a bar, shivering and cold in my evening gown.
My makeup was ruined and so were my feet because at some point during the marathon walk, I had kicked off my heels.
It was probably a bad idea to have anymore drinks especially since I had drunk champagne at the party earlier but my broken didn't care.
I made my way to help counter and slid onto a barstool.
“What would you like to drink ma'am?” The cute woman behind the bar asked me and I shrugged.
“Give me your strongest drink and keep 'em coming.”
Yes, I was going to drink away my sorrows. No, it wasn't the right move.
But did I care? Of course not.
I was done massaging my father's ego and doing things for a family that never cared about me.
Half an hour later, I was a stumbling mess. The waitress had been generous enough to keep my drinks going as I had asked her to and now the entire room was spinning right before my eyes.
“How much do I owe? Just charge it to Xander Smith's account. He'll pay!” I yelled drunkenly as I slid off the barstool.
Well, I tried to but the next minute I was falling —head first to my death or a brain injury and I welcomed it, closing my eyes so I could go peacefully.
A few seconds later, I didn't feel any pain and opened my eyes.
The first thing I saw was green. A sea of deep green eyes that seemed to suck you in.
Then the frame of a man who was scowling down at me came into view.
From the looks of things he had saved me.
“Charge her drinks to my tab and you'd be hearing from me if you let anyone else get this drunk and I don't care that they requested for more drinks.” he said and I looked up to defend myself only to find that his attention wasn't focused on me anymore but on the cute and kind lady behind the counter.
“Don't talk to her….” I started to say but he yanked me closer to his body.
“Let's go.” His voice was firm, his eyes dark as he led me away from the counter.
“Where are you taking me?” I ask
ed even though I was too drunk to protest.
“Home,” came his reply and everything else after that became a blur
SIENNA THORNEXander was definitely out of his mind. “Xander, you're hurting me.” “I'm sorry baby but I can't let you leave,” I took a deep breath and tried to suppress the panic I was feeling. Xander had always been so soft spoken towards me in the past and I'd have never believed he had this side to him. “Xander, why are you doing this?” I asked. “We need to talk, you can't just leave me.” “What do you want to talk about?” I decided to play along. He blinked in surprise and smiled. “I want to explain everything to you,” “Okay, I'm listening.” He released my hand and placed his at the small of my back, guiding me towards the bed. “Sit,” I did as I was told with batted breath. He sat beside me and held my hand in his. “Disne was a mistake. It was a drunken mistake that shouldn't have happened.” I nodded. “So you are admitting that you slept with Diane?” I kept my tone even as I asked not wanting him to suspect I was seething on the inside. “I'm sorry, it wasn't supposed
SIENNA THORNE My head was pounding and my mouth tasted like sandpaper. Those were the first things I noted when I opened my eyes the next day. The sound of a door closing reached my ears and I jerked up, glancing around. A man I had never seen before walked towards me carrying a tray of food perhaps - the aroma said a lot. “I see you're awake.” He said as he placed the tray in front of me. “I thought you should eat first before we talk.” I kept staring at him, wondering if I knew him from somewhere and then my memories from last night rushed into my mind altogether. He was the stranger who had taken me home. Looking around my surroundings, I frowned. “This isn't my home.” I commented and eyed him wearily. Had I been kidnapped. “Who are you?” “My name is Anthony Miller. My friends call me Tony.” “Why did you bring me here? Where is this place?” I asked, ignoring his attempt at pleasantries. “Did Xander send you?” I added a follow-up question, my mind spinning with the many po

SIENNA THORNE “Xander,” I whispered as I walked towards our room. Diane had passed me in the hall looking completely pleased with herself for showing me up again. “You should have informed me before doing this.” Xander said as soon as I stepped into the room. “It was supposed to be a surprise Xander,” I told him, rolling my eyes. “We don't need all this. We've always celebrated quietly.” he reminded me. “Are you trying to embarrass us? Now all people will be talking about for weeks is how I showed up drunk to my anniversary party.” “Then maybe you shouldn’t have been drunk in the first place,” Those words were at the tip of my tongue but I sighed and walked towards him. “I didn't mean for….” “Just go, please. I'll get dressed and meet you downstairs.” he said, his tone leaving no room for arguments. I opened my mouth to argue against my better judgement and he lashed out. “Leave Sienna, haven't you done enough?” Hurt, sad and a little confused at his sudden hostility, I ran
SIENNA THORNETonight will be an unforgettable one. That was what I told myself as I tied strings around four balloons and hung them to the nail on the wall. It was my third wedding anniversary with my husband Xander Smith and I was going all out. Ours had never been a love marriage, merely a business transaction but I had fallen for him about a year and six months in and now, after three years, I was ready to fight for that love. This party was my brilliant idea of getting rid of the transactional side of marriage and ushering us into the honeymooney, lovers phase of it. I never envisioned a loveless marriage for myself when I dreamt of my future but when my family was in crises, I stepped in, no questions asked - not that anyone would have listened to my opinion. Well except Xander. Right from the beginning, he treated me differently from my family. To him, my opinion counted, to him, I mattered and I could ask for anything I wanted. That was why tonight, I was going to ask
