Chapter XXVIII: Shadows of Doubt

As Toby and I walked along the dimly lit streets, the night air cool against our skin, a sense of unease settled over me like a heavy shroud. I couldn't shake the feeling of guilt that gnawed at the edges of my mind, knowing that I had left Damon behind at the Blue Apple, his disappointed gaze haunting me with each step I took.
