Chapter XXXI: A Clash of Wills

As Damon and I made our way towards the exit of the pub, our path was suddenly blocked by the imposing figure of Sir Felix, flanked by his bodyguards like silent sentinels of power. The air grew tense as all eyes turned towards the future mayor, a hush falling over the pub as if in deference to his presence.

"Miss Gia," Sir Felix said, his voice smooth and calculated, his eyes fixed on me with a gaze that sent a shiver down my spine. "I believe we have some unfinished business to attend to."

I felt Damon stiffen beside me, his jaw clenching in silent fury as he moved to stand protectively in front of me, a silent barrier between Sir Felix and myself. I could see the anger burning in his eyes, a fire that threatened to consume him as he faced off against the future mayor with a steely resolve that made my heart race with anticipation.
