Chapter XXXIV: A Gift of Memories

As I stepped out of the Blue Apple Pub, weary from a long day's work, I was greeted by the sight of my friend Toby running towards me, a wide grin plastered across his face. His excitement was palpable, infectious even, and I couldn't help but feel a smile tug at the corners of my lips in response.

"What's got you so happy?" I asked, curiosity piqued as I watched Toby approach.

He chuckled, a mischievous twinkle in his eye as he replied, "Guess."

I furrowed my brow, trying to recall if there was something special happening today that I might have forgotten. But try as I might, nothing came to mind. "I don't know," I admitted with a shrug. "What's the occasion?"

Toby's grin widened even further as he leaned in close, as if he were about to share a secret. "It's my birthday tomorrow!" he exclaimed, his voice filled with mock indignation. "And here I thought you were my best friend."
