The room fell silent.

Elena stared at Victoria.

“She is with Charles?”

Victoria nodded.

“He took her.”

“When?”

“Before we reached the cemetery.”

Elena's voice shook.

“Why didn't you tell me?”

“Because he threatened Lily.”

Adrian stepped forward.

“You should have told us.”

Victoria looked at him.

“I was trying to keep her alive.”

Elena turned toward Catherine.

“You knew about Charles.”

“Yes.”

“And you didn't stop him?”

“I didn't know he had moved against you.”

Catherine walked toward the cabinet.

“He is more dangerous than I thought.”

Elena followed her.

“Then help me get Lily back.”

Catherine opened another drawer.

Inside was an old map.

“This is Charles's property.”

Elena studied it.

“Where?”

“An abandoned Vale warehouse.”

Adrian took the map.

“We go now.”

Catherine shook her head.

“No.”

He looked at her.

“Why?”

“Because Charles expects you.”

“Then he'll get what he expects.”

“No.”

Catherine pointed to the map.

“He doesn't want you.”

She looked at Elena.

“He wants her.”

Elena swallowed.

“Me.”

“Yes.”

Adrian shook his head.

“Then I go instead.”

Catherine looked at him.

“Charles won't accept you.”

“What does he want?”

“The final page.”

Elena remembered the page Charles had taken.

“He wants the agreement.”

“He needs Elena to complete it.”

“Why?”

“Because she is the biological heir.”

Adrian's voice hardened.

“And Lily?”

“She is the key.”

“So he needs both.”

Catherine nodded.

“Yes.”

Elena took a deep breath.

“Then I'll go.”

Adrian immediately grabbed her arm.

“No.”

“If I don't, Lily stays with him.”

“We'll find another way.”

“There isn't time.”

Catherine watched them quietly.

“You have one advantage.”

Elena looked at her.

“What?”

“Charles believes you're afraid.”

“I am.”

“Good.”

Catherine smiled faintly.

“Fear can make an enemy careless.”

---

They reached the warehouse shortly before midnight.

The building stood near the river, surrounded by abandoned factories.

No guards were visible.

Adrian looked at Elena.

“Stay behind me.”

She shook her head.

“Not tonight.”

He sighed.

“You're impossible.”

“I learned from my mother.”

They entered.

The warehouse was dark.

Then the lights came on.

Charles stood on a platform.

Lily was beside him.

She looked frightened but unharmed.

“Mum!”

Elena stepped forward.

“Lily!”

Charles raised his hand.

“Stay where you are.”

Elena stopped.

“Let her go.”

Charles looked at her.

“Give me the page.”

Elena held up the folded paper.

“This?”

“Yes.”

“You'll release her?”

“I will.”

Adrian stepped forward.

“You expect us to believe you?”

Charles smiled.

“No.”

He looked at Elena.

“But I expect you to have no choice.”

Elena walked toward him.

Adrian caught her arm.

She whispered,

“Trust me.”

Then she continued.

She handed Charles the page.

He opened it.

His expression immediately changed.

“This isn't the original.”

Elena's heart pounded.

“You gave me a copy.”

Charles looked furious.

“Where is the original?”

“I don't know.”

Charles looked toward Lily.

Elena's voice became firm.

“Don't.”

Charles stopped.

“You hurt her, and you'll never get what you want.”

For several seconds, nobody moved.

Then a voice came from the entrance.

“You've gone too far.”

Everyone turned.

Catherine stood in the doorway.

Charles stared at her.

“You.”

“You should have stayed away from Elena.”

Charles laughed.

“You should have stayed dead.”

Elena froze.

Charles looked at Catherine.

“You know what happens if the truth comes out.”

Catherine's voice was calm.

“Let it.”

Charles's smile disappeared.

“You don't understand.”

“I understand everything.”

She looked at Elena.

“And she deserves to know.”

Charles shouted,

“Then tell her!”

Catherine looked at Elena.

“The agreement was never designed to give Lily control.”

Elena stared.

“Then what is it for?”

“To expose the person who betrayed all three families.”

Charles suddenly moved toward Lily.

Adrian rushed forward.

Everything happened at once.

Elena grabbed Lily and pulled her away.

Charles ran toward a side door.

Adrian chased him.

Catherine shouted,

“Don't let him escape!”

But Charles disappeared into the darkness.

Elena held Lily tightly.

“Mum.”

“Are you okay?”

Lily nodded.

“I knew you'd come.”

Elena closed her eyes.

“I always will.”

Then Lily looked down.

“Uncle Charles dropped this.”

She handed Elena a small black envelope.

Elena opened it.

Inside was a photograph.

Her mother.

Richard.

Alexander.

And an unfamiliar man.

Elena stared.

“Who is that?”

Catherine looked at the photograph.

Her face changed.

“That…”

She whispered,

“is the person who started everything.”

Adrian stared at the message.DON'T TRUST DANIEL. HE KNOWS WHO THE CHILD IS BECAUSE HE HELPED HIDE HIM.Daniel watched him.“What's wrong?”Adrian turned the phone around.“Richard says you helped hide the fourth child.”Daniel's expression barely changed.“Richard doesn't know what he's talking about.”“Then why is he warning me about you?”“Because he wants to turn you against me.”Elena stepped forward.“Enough. We need the truth, not another argument.”Daniel looked at her.“I've spent years protecting you.”“By lying to me?”“By keeping you alive.”The words silenced her.Margaret moved closer to Daniel.“You knew Isabella?”Daniel nodded.“She was my wife's sister.”“Then why didn't you tell me?”“Because Isabella made me promise never to reveal what happened to her child.”Margaret's eyes filled.“You let me believe she disappeared without explanation.”“She had to.”“Why?”Daniel opened his mouth, but Adrian's phone rang again.Richard.This time Adrian answered and put the ca

  • The Billionaire's Forbidden Bride   The secret Margaret kept

Margaret stared at Evelyn.“That's not true.”Evelyn didn't look away.“You know exactly who I'm talking about.”“No, I don't.”“Margaret, please. We've hidden enough.”Margaret shook her head.“I have spent years trying to understand what happened in that hospital. I raised Elena believing she was my daughter. I lost Matthew. I watched Daniel build a life around secrets. But I have never knowingly hidden another child.”Elena stepped closer.“Grandma, who is the fourth child?”Evelyn looked at her.“Someone who grew up believing they had no connection to the Vale family.”“Then tell us their name.”“I can't.”Charles gave a frustrated laugh.“Of course you can't. You appear with another mystery, make accusations, and expect everyone to believe you.”Evelyn turned toward him.“You know more than you're admitting.”“And you know less than you pretend.”Jonathan stepped between them.“Enough. We need to establish what happened before another person gets hurt by these lies.”Adrian picke

  • The Billionaire's Forbidden Bride   The children she took

Elena couldn't move.Evelyn stood at the entrance, holding the photograph against her chest. For years, the family had searched for her. Some believed she was dead. Others believed she had abandoned them. But she was standing there.Alive.And apparently, carrying another secret.“What do you mean?” Elena finally asked. “What other child did you take?”Evelyn looked around the room.“Before I answer, I need everyone to understand something. The hospital records were not changed to protect one child. They were changed to protect several.”Catherine stepped forward.“You took my daughter.”“I saved your daughter.”“You separated me from her!”Evelyn lowered her eyes.“I know.”Catherine's voice broke.“Do you have any idea what that did to me?”“I do. And I have regretted it every day.”Charles moved closer.“You don't get to return after all these years and pretend you were protecting everyone.”Evelyn looked at him.“You're the last person who should question my decisions.”Charles's

  • The Billionaire's Forbidden Bride   The man in the grave

Jonathan didn't move. The message remained on Adrian's phone, its words hanging over the room like a threat.ASK JONATHAN WHO HE BURIED TWENTY YEARS AGO.Elena stared at him.“Who did you bury?”Jonathan looked away.“Someone who should have stayed dead.”Catherine's eyes widened.“Jonathan!”He raised a hand.“Not here.”Charles stepped forward.“No. We're done hiding things. Tell us who was buried.”Jonathan's jaw tightened.“Michael Hayes.”Margaret gasped.Catherine staggered backward.“No,” she whispered. “Michael was alive when I was told he died.”Jonathan nodded.“I know.”Elena looked between them.“Then whose funeral did you attend?”Jonathan took a slow breath.“His brother's.”Adrian frowned.“Margaret just said the man she married wasn't Michael. Are you saying she married his brother?”Jonathan nodded.“Yes.”Margaret shook her head.“That's not what he told me.”“What did he tell you?” Elena asked.Margaret looked confused.“He introduced himself as Michael. • The Billionaire's Forbidden Bride   The marriage that never ended

The room fell silent.Elena stared at Margaret.“Michael Hayes was your husband?”Margaret nodded slowly.“Before I married Daniel, yes.”Catherine took a step forward.“That isn't possible.”Margaret turned toward her.“I wish it weren't.”“You told me Michael died before I discovered I was pregnant.”“I know what you were told.”Catherine's eyes filled with anger.“Then explain why you were married to him.”Margaret looked down at the photograph in Elena's hands.“Because someone needed to give him a reason to disappear.”Jonathan's expression hardened.“Margaret, be careful.”She ignored him.“Michael was already in danger when I met him. He had discovered something about the original inheritance agreement. Something that could have destroyed the Vale family.”Charles folded his arms.“And you expect us to believe you married him to protect him?”“No,” Margaret replied. “I married him because he asked me to.”Catherine shook her head.“Why would he ask you?”“Because he needed a le

Catherine read the message again.HER FATHER WAS NOT CHARLES VALE.For several seconds, she couldn't speak. Then she looked at Jonathan.“Who was my daughter's father?”Jonathan's expression became guarded.“I thought Charles was.”“So did I,” Catherine replied. “But Evelyn wouldn't have written that unless she knew something.”Adrian examined the photograph.“Could the message be referring to another man?”Richard shook his head.“The photograph was taken years after the child was born. Whoever wrote this wanted Catherine to understand that the truth had been hidden deliberately.”Samuel looked towards Catherine.“Did you have another relationship before Charles?”Catherine hesitated.“There was someone. But I was told he died before I discovered I was pregnant.”Jonathan stepped closer.“Who was he?”Catherine looked at him.“His name was Michael.”The name meant nothing to Elena. But Daniel, who had remained silent near the doorway, suddenly raised his head.“Michael what?”Catheri
