The chaos parted as Richard Barton. stepped through the doorway — tall, broad-shouldered, dressed in black from head to toe, his long trench coat flowing behind him like a dark wave. His presence alone froze the room.

His jaw was clenched, eyes burning with controlled fury — the kind that made men regret ever crossing him. Jordan flanked him on one side, Marc on the other, their expressions grim and ready.

Lucas, dagger still in hand, took a shaky step back. “Richard Barton… in the flesh,” he said mockingly, trying to sound composed — but the tremor in his voice betrayed him.

Richard’s gaze dropped to Abigail’s lifeless body, blood pooling beneath the chair. Then to Annabelle — bound, tear-streaked, trembling.

His eyes darkened. His voice, when it came, was cold enough to cut bone.

“You just broke the only rule that kept you breathing, Lucas.”

Lucas forced a smirk. “She ran her mouth. I silenced her. You’d have done the same.”

Richard’s lip twitched — a ghost of a smile, but it didn’t

  • The Billionaire's Forgotten Night   The Truth Will Find You

The air in the basement was heavy — colder than usual, thick with the smell of damp concrete and rust. A single bulb flickered above the steel bars, casting jagged shadows that moved like ghosts across the walls. Somewhere down the corridor, a pipe hissed, leaking steam that curled through the silence like a warning.Richard’s footsteps echoed before his figure appeared — tall, rigid, and sharp as a knife in the gloom. The moment he stepped in front of the cell, the air shifted. The guards straightened, their gazes dropping instantly.Inside the cell, Britney sat cross-legged on the narrow cot, her silk blouse smeared with dust, hair loose around her face. She looked up slowly, a calm, almost lazy smirk playing on her lips.“Well,” she said softly, voice coated in false sweetness. “If it isn’t my dear nephew. To what do I owe this... charming visit?”Richard didn’t answer at first. He just stared — long enough for her smile to falter. The fury in his eyes wasn’t wild; it was measured,

  • The Billionaire's Forgotten Night   Payback in Motion

The Rolls eased onto cracked concrete and the warehouse door groaned open like a coffin lid. Night clung to the yard — a halo of sodium lamps, steam drifting from a grate, the sharp smell of oil and iron. Richard stepped out first, shoulders coiled, every inch of him a taut wire. Marc and Alvarez waited beneath the light, faces carved from the night’s work.Alvarez didn’t waste time on pleasantries. He stepped into the light, tablet in hand, face drawn. “Boss — Julia’s secured. Intercepted at the private terminal, minutes from boarding. We’ve got her contained.”He let the words hang, then kept going, voice flat. “We pushed hard. Under pressure she cracked — not a clean confession, but enough. She’s tied to a long list of dirty moves: tampering with meds to create a scare, coordinating the ‘accident’ plan with Britney and certain Hamilton contacts, running interference on a government tender through shell companies so Annabelle would look compromised. Victor and a couple of others wer

  • The Billionaire's Forgotten Night   A Storm Without Mercy

“I know what she wants,” Richard said, voice low and edged like broken glass. “And I think she knows a hell of a lot more than she’s saying.”Jordan’s brow furrowed. “You think Hazel—?”Richard nodded slowly, his jaw tightening. “Yeah… it feels like she’s hiding something.” He looked up at Jordan, eyes narrowing. “You think she knows why Annabelle left? Or maybe even about Julia’s involvement?”Jordan frowned, confusion flashing across his face. “Julia’s involvement? Come on, Richard, even I didn’t know she was up to something—how would Hazel?”Richard’s lips twisted into a bitter smirk. He leaned back in his chair, eyes hard as flint. “Then riddle me this—why didn’t Hazel ever once ask why Annabelle bolted? Not one damn question. And the moment she walked in here, she started throwing blame like confetti, acting like I drove Annabelle away.” His voice grew rougher, the veins in his neck standing out. “She wasn’t surprised, Jordan. She was prepared. That tells me she knew something be

  • The Billionaire's Forgotten Night   The Edge of Control

After barking orders left and right, Richard still couldn't sit still. His world - normally measured, controlled, ruthless - felt like it was slipping through his fingers. A man who once ruled chaos now stood swallowed by it. For years, people called him heartless, a machine in human skin. They weren't wrong. But every wall, every ounce of cold logic he'd built around himself, had one crack - and that crack had a name.Annabelle.And tonight, she'd shattered him completely. He stormed down the corridor, the echo of his boots cutting through the silence like gunfire. His shoulders were tight, jaw locked, eyes hard enough to slice through glass. Staff scattered at the sight of him - no one dared meet his gaze. Rage burned beneath his skin, but it wasn't the kind he could aim at anyone. It was helpless, clawing, unbearable.By the time he reached their room, his pulse was a war drum in his chest. He shoved the door open. The room still smelled like her. That soft scent of vanilla and lav

  • The Billionaire's Forgotten Night   The Hunt Begins

Richard pressed his palm to his forehead until stars exploded. “Who was she calling?”“I’m on it.” Alvarez had already anticipated it. “Tagging communications. I’ll have the number.”Marc lingered near the monitors, jaw tight, as the last seconds of footage replayed—Annabelle slipping through the door, Julia on the balcony with that damn phone. The silence stretched until it was unbearable. Finally, Marc cleared his throat, his voice low and careful.“Boss… do you want us to start looking for Julia first?”Richard’s gaze didn’t move from the frozen screen, the image of Annabelle vanishing through the foyer door burned into his mind. His hand tightened on the edge of the desk, knuckles whitening. “No,” he said, voice gravel-deep. “She’s smart—too smart. If she’s not already gone, she will be soon. Let her run for now. My first priority is Annabelle.”He turned sharply, pacing once, the floor creaking beneath his boots. “Call Jordan,” he ordered. “Ask him to check on Hazel. If anyone kn

  • The Billionaire's Forgotten Night   Vanished in the Night

Richard came awake like he'd been yanked from the bottom of a pool — lungs burning, head full of static. For a dizzy second the room was a blur of white linens and moonlight, the aftertaste of cold water and something metallic on his tongue. He sat up too fast; the world tilted and a thin line of panic skittered across his spine. The bed beside him was empty. He blinked, trying to stitch the night back together. Julia’s voice — a syrup of poison. Her smirk. The spray at his face. The fight. The shove. The cold slam of the bathroom tile under his feet. The shower that felt like ice. He should have expected the sheets to smell like her — Annabelle always left a hint of citrus and rose on them — but they were simply… cold, unmarked. The small copper weight of unease hardened into a knot.“Anna?” His voice scraped the quiet. No answer. Only the house settling, distant footsteps in the staff wing, the muffled hum of the city below. He swung his legs off the bed and nearly hit the floor. Th
