CHAPTER SEVEN

MIA'S POV

I smiled along with the children playing in the park. They were so carefree, so young and full of innocence. I wonder why we can't be this free and happy as an adult.

I remembered the days I was as free and innocent as these children; without having to worry about anything in the world.

Just like them, if someone had told me years ago that someday in my adulthood, that my joy will be snatched away by the cruelty of this world, I wouldn't have believed the person.

I wished in my innermost heart and with all sincerity that these children don't have to grow up to experience the wickedness of this world which I'm having a taste of right now.

No matter how hard I fought to hold my tears back, I just couldn't restrain them from falling down any longer. I let them flow freely without minding who was watching.

Why is this world so cruel? I put my hands on my thigh as I use them to cover my face.
