Chapter 17: Chaos in the Ballroom

Emma was starting to fidget, her hands already visibly shaking, she should have known that this was going to happen. Panic was starting to set in, they all had their eyes on her, the women giving her a look of contempt and disgust while the men stared down at her with lustful eyes.

She turned her attention to the glass of wine in her hands, she tried so much to focus on it to distract herself from the stares she was getting, but she was failing miserably, the glass kept slipping and threatening to fall.

Emma held the glass with both her hands to stop herself from fidgeting when the sound glass clinking turned her and everyone's attention towards the stage.

Emma couldn't be grateful enough that the attention was lifted from her but the feeling of relief disappeared almost as soon as it came.
