Just a few more time

It's been three days since Megan was discharged from the hospital, Hilary has always made sure she lacks nothing both in attention and care.

Seeing that Megan is physically okay than she was before, she decides it time to resume her work. She knows the type of tight schedule she will be having, coupled off with her absence from work.

It's a new week, Hilary was still dressing up for work. Dwayne decided to seize the opportunity to have a few talks with Megan. Using the contract to start a conversation isn't a very bad idea to him.

“You should know how hectic and time-consuming our work is, Megan.” Dwayne muttered. This was the first time he would be speaking to her since months now.

When he return back from his business trip few days ago and pay her a visit at the hospital, he did not even spare her a glance twice nor utter a single word to her. He only smiled and mumbled few words to the babies, nuzzling their nose too.

Dwayne's thinking was he would not get the chance to meet Megan if not for the surrogacy contract she signed with them. Why get acquainted with her when she will be leaving soon?

He is not supposed to be having any kind of relationship with her not even ‘boss and staff’ relationship because soon, it won't feel as if she came into their lives in the first place.

When she had her contract completed, he would be her off and she won't get the chance of coming back ever again, not even later in the future.

“… Or don't you…?” He asked yet again.

“I'm aware of this, Mr. Zahan.” She muttered in reply. “You told me about it before now.”

“Good. I'm sure you went through the contract files the other day when we first meet, right?” He threw her another question, which keeps Megan wondering if he is trying to interview her again.

“What is the need for all of these question?” She had wanted to ask, but said something else instead. “Of course, I do.” She replied instead.

“Since there would be no one to take care of the kids in our absence and due to the contract, you will be staying extra months to look after them.” Dwayne uttered, nonchalantly.

Megan is aware of this already and when she thought she is getting over the pain of leaving them soon, now this…

“I see no reason why you are saying all of these, I vividly remember everything concerning the contract.” Megan replied, trying her possible best no to let her voice waver.

Dwayne shrugged his shoulders lightly. "I see nothing bad in reminding you about it again, or is it?” He said in a flat tone.

“I'm done already, we should get going now.” Hilary said, as she was descending from the stairs.

“Hmm, I see…” Dwayne hummed. “Do we need anything else? Remember, we will be spending much more time than usual.”

“Sure, I'm aware…” Hilary replied, readjusting her hair. “I made sure everything needed are intact already, you know I hate delay and distraction at work.”

“There isn't any need to waste more time, then?” Dwayne said plainly, earning a shoulder shrug from Hilary.

The Zahans, after kissing the babies goodbye on their cheeks.

“Bye, Meg. Take care of yourself and the kids too. My schedule will be tight these days, so I won't be around as usual.” Hilary said with a side smile.

“Of course, I understand better.” That was Megan's reply, since she did not have much to say.

“Fine, then…” With that, the Zahans hurried out of the house like they are being chased by a greater force. It's obvious, either they are running late or don't want to arrive late, since they are always time conscious.

Megan could only let out a deep sigh. There is no much to do around apart from watching over the little lads and taking care of their feeding until the day runs out.

Elite seems to be nowhere in sight after dressing up the lads, Megan felt she was feeling sleepy, but she can't leave the babies with no one to look after.

What if one of them start crying if she is asleep? Who will look after and pet the little lad to sleep? The babies refuse to close their eyes even for a moment, but they are not disturbing with cries either.

“What do I do now, huh? Tell momma what she's supposed to do, lil kiddies.” Megan muttered more to herself as she stared at the babies in the cots. “Momma is feeling sleepy with no one left to watch over her babies.”

The babies let out squeaky like soft sound like they understand the message Megan was trying to pass.

“You understand momma, right?” Megan let out a wide smile reaching her eyes. She wondered how she will let go of these babies who won't stop growing cute and adorable each new day.

Megan decides to keep herself engage to drive the threatening sleep away. Since the babies refuse to sleep, she decides it will be nice to sing them a lullaby.

“That will help, I guess.” Megan muttered to herself. She has imagined herself in this position long ago, but she never thought it will be so soon.

She had imagined herself in a motherhood position when she was still courting Rhett before she met the breathtaking stranger. Since she was engaged to Rhett already, it did not occur to her that her relationship with him will end abruptly like the previous ones she's been having.

All thanks to the blinding trust and love she had for him, she never saw it coming. She really has ill luck when it comes to relationship stuffs.

All other thought pushed aside, Megan snapped herself from the strained thoughts and focus her attention on her babies.

Megan doesn't feel like stopping the lullaby any time soon, as she was enjoying the look from the little lads. The new feeling that was surging through her, she can't just explain it, but she loved it and wish it never stopped.

She was forced to promise herself not to leave the babies behind, to be there for them where needed and necessary.

But the problem is… How is she going to achieve all of this when she has only few time left to…?
