Some days we shouldn't forget

She was finding it difficult to stand on her own as she uses Hilary's neck for support, crossing her hand over it.

The pain she was feeling was intense with her cloth dripping wet, which doesn't seem to be normal to her. Hilary, on the other hand, was confused on what to do next.

‘Should I change her wet dress first or take her to the hospital like that?’ Hilary thought with in herself, doubts and confusion written all over her. She has not experienced something like this before, and she seems so naive about it, anyone would have noticed this.

“Elite, get Megan a new dress and be fast about it…” Hilary hissed out, clearly frustrated from confusion. In the next few minutes, Elite was rushing down with a new dress for Megan as ordered.

Megan doesn't look like she would stop her writhing and groaning any time soon due to the unbearable pain beneath her pelvic area, it hooked her so much, giving her no time to express herself.

“Why does she need a new dress now, ma'am? We are supposed to rush her to the hospital before this get out of hand.” Elite said in a humble tone, trying not to sound rude to her boss. “I guess she's experiencing pain in her pelvic area which is bad, cause water breaking does not bring any pain.”

Hilary has no time to think about what Elite had just said. “I was thinking she won't be comfortable with wet clothes on. She is in pain already, the wet dress might add discomfort to her pain. Don't you think so too?” Hilary asked, her voice wasn't any way calmer than it was at first.

“Oh, I guess so.” Elite nodded as she concurred to her boss saying, not wanting to argue words with her since it's improper to do such.

Without wasting any more time, Elite changed Megan's clothing with the help of Hilary and in a few minutes, they were done.

“Go get the needed material, Elite. We need to hit the road right away.” Hilary uttered.

“It's in the car already, ma'am. I make sure of that myself.” Elite replied almost immediately.

“Don't worry, Meg. We'll get you to the hospital soonest, okay?” Hilary consoled, when she's aware, she might not get any response from Megan. Megan was considerate enough to only nod her head slowly in response.

With the help of the driver and the chef, Megan was made to sit at the back of the car with Hilary and Elite by her side. They were either rubbing her waist and abdominal area slowly or muttering consoling words to her.

Soon after they got to the hospital, Megan was already on the stretcher as she rolled away to the labor room by the doctor and some nurses too.

Hilary was impatient, and her facial expression was clouded with worries and confusion. How is she supposed to get over it, if anything should go wrong or happen to Megan and the babies?

Hilary's thinking was in chaos as she finds it difficult to think straight, feeling as if she has lose her sanity.

‘This is bad!’ She thought within her self and facepalming herself as well. ‘This is really bad.’

“You shouldn't beat yourself up too much, ma'am. Everything is going to be fine…” That was Elite's concerned voice. Hilary could only let out a deep sigh, not giving any reply or acknowledging Elite's statement.

“Are there any complications, doctor? Please tell me, I need to know.” Hilary rushed her words immediately she entered the doctor's private office, wearing an impatient look.

The doctor had summoned her into her office to have a better discussion with her, it's more professional when it's discussed in the doctor's office compare to having a talk with her in the waiting room.

“Please, do calm down, Mrs. Zahan.” The doctor cajoled slowly. “And do have your seat, at least.”

Hilary wanted to hesitate but another calming and pacifying look from the doctor, she quickly had her seat. “How is Meg, doctor? Is she under any complication?” Hilary asked, like she has been chased by a greater force.

“I can't call it a complication, Mrs. Zahan. It's just one of the babies pressing it head on the mother's pelvic part, and that was the reason for the pain she was feeling earlier.” The doctor explained slowly and calmly like the professional she is.

Hilary let out a sigh, but neither the doctor nor Hilary herself can tell if it's a relief sigh or something else. “How is she now? It's clear that she might be in labor soon, that is, if I'm correct?” Hilary treaded her words slowly like she is afraid to say something illegal or harsh.

“First, we've found a good way to calm her down off the pain, that's the mostly important part as of now.” The doctor speaks with professionalism laced in her voice, no one would have mistaken her for any other occupation.

“That seems like good news for a start, I guess.” Hilary uttered, running her fingers in her hair calmly. “What's next online after that?”

“Her contraction is likely to come earlier than expected leading to early labor, maybe in the next seven to twelve hours, which is rare. But don't worry, Mrs. Zahan, we will keep her under close observation to notice and avoid any strange development.” The doctor, whose name was Ms. Arielle, cajoled in her usual voice. “We will also be running another sonogram to check for any complications, we can't rely on our instinct only.”

“That's very thoughtful of you, Ms. Arielle. I'll implore you to do anything within your capability to get her out of danger, if any.” Hilary muttered, almost in a mixed tone of pleading and desperation. “And if it's going to cost me a whole lots of money, I don't mind, because I'm ready to pay.”

“It's sound as if you are reminding me of my job…” Ms. Arielle voice was plain and calm, adding no much meaning to her said words.

“That's not it, it just that…” Hilary trailed off, with no interest of saying any more words. She is only concerned about Megan and babies’ safety, nothing more.

Hilary is aware of how many lives that are on the line if any slight danger should be detected, she can't afford to lose either one of them. The babies and Megan herself, she isn't that cruel not to at least have human emotions in her.
